The Betfair Chase racing odds take a look over the key players in this year’s renewal of the Grade 1 fixture at Haydock on Saturday.

There is a high-quality field lining up. It includes last year’s winner BRISTOL DE MAI and the impressive A PLUS TARD.

There should be some battle here over the 2m 1 1/2f trip and there could be some rain around to mix things up further.

We look at each of the 8 declared runners in the Betfair Chase racing odds preview.

Betfair Chase Racing Odds

Bristol De Mai 7/2
Waiting Patiently 13/2
Next Destination 15/2

A Plus Tard 11/8 FAV in Betfair Chase Racing Odds

A PLUS TARD has the potential to dominate this division for the next few years.

The 7-year-old is the current 11/8 favourite in Betfair Chase betting* (odds recorded at 17:35 GMT on November 19th, 2021 at Coral).

There was a Grade 1 success for him in the Savills Chase at Leopardstown last season before he headed off to Cheltenham for the Gold Cup.

A Plus Tard went well in the Gold Cup to take the runner up spot.

He is a top chaser and the Irish raider looks to have a big chance.

He’s the highest-rated runner in the field and comes from a winning yard.

There is one question mark over his chances perhaps. That is him not having had a reappearance run under his belt first.

But there’s more progress to come.

Can Bristol De Mai defend?

Course specialist BRISTOL DE MAI is back. He will have another crack at the Betfair Chase after last year’s success in the big fixture.

That was the third time that the popular grey has won the Betfair Chase.

His yard will have him finely tuned for this one.

There are fewer concerns over him running fresh than there for A Plus Tard.

Bristol De Mai went from the front to land this last season.

This is where he thrives.

His yard is in form and it wouldn’t be any surprise to see the 10-year old put himself right in the thick of this.

Bristol De Mai is a quote of 7/2 in Betfair Chase betting* (odds recorded at 17:35 GMT on November 19th, 2021 at Coral).

Next Destination brings a serious challenge

Not to be overlooked in this contest is NEXT DESTINATION who was really on the up last season for his new yard.

He was racking up the wins and he went to the National Hunt Chase at Cheltenham seeking a hattrick earlier this year.

Next Destination missed out on the three-timer but ran with tremendous credit nonetheless to finish second.

The cheekpieces go on for the first time Saturday.

Next Destination has the potential to make an even bigger impact in this sphere.

There’s a current quote of 15/2 on Next Destination in horse racing odds* (odds recorded at 17:35 GMT on November 19th, 2021 at Coral).

Waiting Patiently looks for a revival

The form of WAITING PATIENTLY dropped away last season. Something never looked right with him as he failed to live up to his billing.

Looking back at his form from a couple of years before, Waiting Patiently proved to be a high-quality performer in chase efforts.

He could have a chance if the move to a new yard has sparked any kind of revival in him.

This will be the first run for Waiting Patiently since failing to complete the Betway Bowl at Aintree earlier this year.

Waiting Patiently is at 13/2 in the market* (odds recorded at 17:35 GMT on November 19th, 2021 at Coral).

Royale Pagaille with e/w claims?

There is an interesting player in ROYALE PAGAILLE taking to the start in the Betfair Chase at Haydock on Saturday.

He was bang in form last season, looking super progressive and completed a hattrick in the previous campaign.

Included in that hot winning streak was a victory at Haydock in the Peter Marsh.

If his below-par effort in the Cheltenham Gold Cup on his final run of last season can be overlooked, then the C&D winner may be worth a look from 9/1* (odds recorded at 17:35 GMT on November 19th, 2021 at Coral).

The rest of the runners

CHATHAM STREET LAD won four times over the fences last season.

But a very poor reappearance run at Limerick at 3m 41 days ago suggests that he has a lot on his plate Saturday.

CLONDAW CASTLE is no mug but needs to delve deep for a career-best to take this.

There was a good second place in the Betway Bowl from him last term.

Also, Clondaw Castle went well to place in the Charlie Hall on his reappearance three weeks ago.

IMPERIAL AURA won a Grade 2 a year ago. He was hit by injury in the Ryanair at Cheltenham unfortunately.

He’s a talented one and returns after a wind op with some place claims.

Predictions & Tips for Betfair Chase Racing Odds

If A PLUS TARD is on his game then he should have the beating of this field from 11/8* (odds recorded at 17:35 GMT on November 19th, 2021 at Coral).

No one is rated even close to him. If he continues his strong progressive and lands this Grade 1, he’s going to be a very hot ticket this season.

NEXT DESTINATION piques enough interest to make it onto the shortlist.

A chance of yardage has brought some top performances out of him and should have a lot to bring to the table.

The final shortlist selection for the Betfair Chase is BRISTOL DE MAI, an obvious one.

His yard will have him tuned for this and he’s just a proven C&D performer.
