Aloe Vera heads the Hoppings field

The front runner for the contest is ALOE VERA and with little surprise. It’s been two runs and two wins from her so far.

She may be a tough one to knock off her perch as well. The 4 year old filly scored on her debut at Chepstow early in May last year.

She then followed up twenty days later with a success at Goodwood, at the 10f distance by a cool three lengths in Listed company.

She is going up in class again for this one and she just frankly looks the pick of the bunch and is hard to oppose.

It’s likely that she’ll handle this small field here well and she is the red-hot 6/4 favourite* (betting odds taken from Coral at 08:03 GMT on Friday, June 26th 2020)

LOOK AROUND

The one most likely to offer up some kind of challenge to Aloe Vera in this contest is LOOK AROUND. She is going to be worth keeping on side for this one and may benefit from a recent run.

She was out at Newbury on June 13th after a 287 day break, and only took 6th of 8 on the day from a big 25/1 quote. That was a Group 3 contest as well and she looked as if she needed the trip.

She has yet to score at over 7f, but this longer trip may start to bring her more and more into the picture after a lot of work done last season at 8F.

Look Around is the current 3/1 second favourite* (betting odds taken from Coral at 08:03 GMT on Friday, June 26th 2020)

VIRGIN SNOW

3 year old filly VIRGIN SNOW makes for a very interesting inclusion. She has progressed in each of her racetrack appearances, culminating in a win last time out in early June 2020.

She scored by one and a half lengths at Haydock at 10f. This is a huge jump in class for her now as she looks to try and push herself on a little further.

Connections seem to trust her and she will have some backing at 4/1* (betting odds taken from Coral at 08:03 GMT on Friday, June 26th 2020).

NKOSIKAZI

Mare NKOSIKAZA scored on her last trip. That happened at Redcar after a 203 day break away from the draw. It was also the first time that the 5 year old had won since July 2018.

The score at Redcar happened at the 10f distance and she had been the 11/8F and just about dug it out by a neck. This is a jump up in terms of quality that she is facing, and it’s likely place claims at best.

SWEET PROMISE

SWEET PROMISE made a return from a long winter break with an appearance at Newmarket in early June 2020. She was second from last in that 10f trip and after a bright start to her career, she has been struggling.

She won two of her first three races, but has looked really short of quality across her last couple of trips. It’s hard to see her getting into the picture.

BUBBLE AND SQUEAK

Another one that looks as she is going to struggle to make a big impact is BUBBLE AND SQUEAK. She did do some good work at eight and a half furlongs at Wolverhampton back in December.

But she tackled a 10f trip at Newmarket earlier this month and was fifth of seven in that, with Sweet Promise behind her.

Jumping up to big Group 3 action here is likely going to be a really big ask to find a performance.

Predictions & Tips

Are we going to jump on the ALOE VERA bandwagon and follow the hype over this brilliant filly. Yes. She has looked imperious in what she has done already.

There was clear improvement from her between her first two races and there is likely more to come. This jump up in class may even bring the best out of her.

She looks to be up for the challenge and the rest of the field does fall a little bit short. There is an exciting entry in VIRGIN SNOW after a recent win and the high rated LOOK AROUND appear the ones most likely to put together decent challenges.
