Fujaira Prince the 6/1 FAV in York Ebor Handicap odds

There is little doubt about the quality that FUJAIRA PRINCE has. He currently sits as the 6/1 FAV for Saturday’s Ebor* (betting odds taken from Betway at 23:47 GMT on Friday, 21st August 2020). On his return to action this year he scored an excellent win at Royal Ascot.

That was over the same trip in the Copper Horse, which was incidentally, his first go at the trip. That is four wins in his last races now and Fujaira Prince has been targetting the Ebor so he should bring some pretty bold claims.

Fujaira Prince does take on an extra 9lb for this race, but that shouldn’t be enough to hold him back from good things. The leading claims are there.

TRUESHAN
15/2

Betway

Trueshan well-supported for Ebor success

The popular TRUESHAN has continued on such a good trajectory, although he is unexposed over this trip.

He was last seen at Haydock over one and a half miles last month where he scored in a conditions fixture.

He managed to get the better of Hamish in that race as well, who was expected to arrive for the Ebor as favourite, but has taken a pass.

The extra bit of trip really should pull more strengths from Trueshan who is the 15/2 second favourite* (betting odds taken from Betway at 23:47 GMT on Friday, 21st August 2020).

Verdana Blue not to be dismissed

VERDANA BLUE is always excellent under handicapping terms and so she could have a say in this for trainer Niky Henderson.

The last appearance that she had was at Royal Ascot when she was second in the Ascot Stakes.

She has a great turn of speed, but this will be a very interesting switch to the flat for her.

The distance shouldn’t be any real concern for her either and she will pull in plenty of appeal at 17/2 odds* (betting odds taken from Betway at 23:47 GMT on Friday, 21st August 2020).

Deja will have a good view of the places

DEJA is coming along very nicely and at Royal Ascot on what was his reappearance, he claimed second place in the Duke Of Edinburgh Stakes.

On his following trip, a 12f effort at Haydock in early July, he collected an excellent win in the Old Newton Cup Handicap.

Deja just looks to be in excellent shape at the moment and has every chance of getting in the frame.

We think he is worth watching for an each-way option from 16/1* (betting odds taken from Betway at 23:47 GMT on Friday, 21st August 2020).

Pablo Escobarr could continue good form

PABLO ESCOBARR got on the board for the first time since his renewal with a Group 3 success last time out.

That was in the Glorious Stakes at Goodwood, which does mean that he piques interest for this one.

He’s very consistent and he has been working hard, trending towards that recent score.

He has a decent chance at reaching the places from 9/1 given that he’s been in the frame in all of his races this campaign* (betting odds taken from Betway at 23:47 GMT on Friday, 21st August 2020).

Others to note

There is a pretty deep field here with some very interesting claims knocking around.

GHOSTWATCH seems to have found a nice bit of form for himself as well. He scored a course and distance win in the 2018 Melrose which is a reason to keep him on side as well. Trainer Charlie Appleby seems to have him in a ripe mood at the moment.

MONICA SHERIFF is interesting as well. She ended her previous campaign with a five-timer. It’s a long absence that she returns from (301 days). But she scored a Group 3 win on her last appearance and features for trainer Willie Haggas.

PONDUS gets his first crack at this track and he has been carrying decent form for the large part, since his return. He could only manage 4th on his last run in a Group 3 Leopardstown fixture but has won in Listed company this year.

JEREMIAH may have some 25/1 each-way claims for punters in this one* (betting odds taken from Betway at 23:47 GMT on Friday, 21st August 2020). He was well down the field behind winner Deja in the Old Newton Cup, but followed up with a win at Ascot less than a month later. He is unexposed on this trip.

Predictions & Tips for York Ebor Handicap Odds

This should be a fantastic race, full of thunder. We have to jump straight to the top of the market and look at TRUESHAN who showed tremendous grit to get a win on his last trip.

We feel that the extra bit of distance is going to play right into his hands and goes as our top selection for Saturday’s Ebor. He is our 15/2 leading option

We can’t dismiss VERDANA BLUE even though she’s unexposed in the flat. That’s because we feel that she has enough speed in her to handle the drop in trip which this is for her.

As we go looking for a progressive runner, that will be DEJA who is our other main contender. He has really looked as if he means business this season and could be a big player.

It’s that kind of field where we need one more pick. We are going to MONICA SHERIFF for that as it’s going to be absolutely fascinating to see if she can progress on her return after some stellar form last season.
