Al Muffrih 15/8 FAV in Ripon Racing Odds
The clear market leader for this Ripon Bell-Ringer Handicap action is AL MUFFRIH at 15/8* (betting odds taken from Betway at 21:17 GMT on Thursday 23rd, July 2020).
There was a nice return to form for him when he went out at York six days ago. He claimed a third there which was a vast improvement over a big misfire on his return to action. Al Muffrih stays at the same mark so Al Muffrih should be in the picture.
He went hard too soon in that York handicap, so if he gets the timing right here at a similar distance, he may take some stopping. While the quick turnaround in races may raise a question or two, he has won before after less than a three-week break.
The Trader means business
THE TRADER scored a win on his return to action which was at Newmarket in June. In his one run since then he took on an 11.8F trip in some heavy going at Haydock just under three weeks ago.
He can’t be discounted from the shortlist for this fixture at all. He dug in very well to get third place in that Haydock run in the Old Newton Cup.

Glencadam Glory can hold his pace
This looks as if the pace is going to be pretty warm in this fixture. With that in mind there should be some consideration for GLENCADAM GLORY.
He was in the Old Newton Cup at Haydock along with The Trader and fought well to take a sixth place finish there.

Indianapolis is a threat on his day
There hasn’t been top form from INDIANAPOLIS this season. He hasn’t made a great impression anywhere on his three runs in return to action.
Indianapolis was well down the field at Haydock on his last run and he will have the cheek pieces back on how. On his day, he is the kind of horse that can really pose a threat in fixtures like this.
The question mark is over whether or not his best will be on show. He needs a bounce back performance without question.
The rest of the runners
GROVEMAN has won two of his last three runs. His most recent was a month ago at Thirsk. He goes up 3lb from that effort and he may just be found wanting against the quality at the head of the market.
FRANKUUS pulled up in a handicap at Haydock about three weeks ago. There was little form on show from him at the end of season and that blow out in his return to action won’t instill confidence.
SPANISH ARCHER may bring a bit of progress to the table. He was fifth in a Doncaster handicap 40 days ago. He was in great shape last season and that return to action could have sharpened him up. Not a bad outsider option.
Predictions & Tips for Ripon Racing Odds
THE TRADER should be a threat in this one and back on firmer ground he should have enough pace to get close.
But we don’t see him having quite enough to get the better of AL MUFFRIH who is the pick of the bunch. He will need a much better paced-out race than he showed on his last run however.
The other that we fancy having a look at it SPANISH ARCHER from 15/2* (betting odds taken from Betway at 21:17 GMT on Thursday 23rd, July 2020) which is likely to shorten well. There should be progress after having gotten some air in his lungs just over a month ago.
