THE EDGAR WALLACE could be the one to beat in this contest as he arrives on the back of a recent score at Market Rasen.

That was an excellent chasing performance from him on his debut over the fences. There’s likely more to come based on that.

JACAMAR won at Kempton earlier this season, which was back in December. He has been pushed on since then.

Jacamar has finished in the middle of the pack in a couple of stronger races since then having been pushed up in grade and rates as a danger.

YCCS PORTO CERVO has been away for 149 days which may be a big absence for him to shape off in terms of coming up with a victory.

But he was in cracking form before he went into his break.

He does have a tough mark as well for his return, but if there is an improvement, he could make his presence felt.

Tip: THE EDGAR WALLACE 1/8

Ones to watch: Jacamar 5/2, Yccs Porto Cervo 8/1

BILLINGSLEY produced a victory last month as he saw off some competitive rivals at Ffos Las.

That was at the same 2m distance. The handicapper still seems to have been pretty lenient with him giving him only 8lb extra. Billingsley could defy that.

BOAGRIUS claimed a course and distance win three years ago but hasn’t won since getting that on the board.

His last two runs have been pretty disappointing as well.

Those were after a break, and perhaps he just needed some time. Boagrius is on a threatening mark and gets the cheekpieces for the first time.

PRIDE OF LECALE seems to have found a good bit of fitting lately. After a run where he failed to complete, he has been back in it.

There was a victory for him at Ffos Las in January with the hood on for the first time. On his latest, the veteran was second in a course and distance effort.

Tip: BILLINGSLEY Evens

Ones to watch: Boagrius 5/1, Pride Of Lecale 5/2

NELSON RIVER defined some long odds to come up with a score in a novice contest over course and distance last time out.

That was three weeks ago on his chasing debut and was going clear at the finish in a small 4-runner field. Nelson River comes in for his handicap debut.

FRIEND OR FOE opened the season with a victory, getting off the mark at the first time of asking in chasing at Uttoxeter.

There was a good follow up by him with a third-place finish at Warwick, before not getting the rub of the green on a follow-up.

LESKINFERE and DUN BAY CREEK are both hugely outside of the handicap in this one and there’s little to suggest that some major odds will be defied by either.

Tip: NELSON RIVER 5/4

Ones to watch: Friend Or Foe 8/13

HITITI may be worth a look in this extremely competitive-looking handicap hurdle action on Friday.

He was a French bumper winner and scored at Fontwell a month ago on his British debut.

Form from that has been franked and so Hititi, who has been given a 6lb rise, could go even better.

LIMETREE BOY is unexposed but looks as if he could have something to offer at Exeter on Friday.

This will be his handicap debut and connections will be looking for progress after Limetree Boy scored at Wetherby 43 days ago.

MY SILVER LINING makes his handicap debut on Friday, and could well get heavily involved.

He bolted up to score at Lingfield on his latest effort and looked very good for him.

My Silver Lining should be heavily involved.

Tip: HITITI 4/1

Ones to watch: My Silver LIning 6/4, Limetree Boy 10/3

LONGSHANKS looks like being one of the stronger players in this handicap chase on Friday.

He does look to be on a very good mark as he bids to get the first win of the campaign.

He delivered his best trip over the fences last time out at Ffos Las in February and should build on that.

MORFEE was a runner up on his latest effort as well and he takes a drop of 1lb which puts him right in the mix for Friday.

That latest run was at the course and distance and he was unlucky to come up against one who was thriving on the day. Morfee should be there.

GETMEGOLD is the final selection for the shortlist in this competitive fixture. He was a winner on his penultimate run.

That was at course and distance on his chasing debut.

His follow up at Chepstow wasn’t great to be fair, but a return to winning ground gives Getmegold a chance.

Tip: MORFEE 6/1

Ones to watch: Longshanks 9/4, Getmegold 13/2

GIVE US A SWIG could make a good impact in this wide 0pen affair on Friday. It’s wide open because it is a pretty thin line-up.

Give Us A Swig hasn’t won for a while but has gotten himself in the places in each of his last three efforts over the fences.

He was a clear second at Ffos Las last time out and should get close.

WIND TOR was a good runner up at Chepstow on her latest run which was just a couple of weeks ago.

She seems to have been held back a little bit on her last two, having been ridden conservatively.

Wind Tor looks to require a more positive ride.

BELLAMY’S GREY was a winner here in January over the hurdles, which was his penultimate run.

As tends to be his nature, he was all over the place on his follow up and finished well down the field. Will a return to the fences shake him up?

Tip: WIND TOR 6/1

Ones to watch: Give Us A Swig 9/4, Bellamy’s Grey 9/1
