Stradivarius the 10/11 FAV in Ascot Gold Cup Odds

He’s back. STRADIVARIUS will launch another bold Ascot Gold Cup bid on Thursday. He has won the last three editions of the famous race.

For this year’s Ascot Gold Cup odds Stradivarius is a quote of 10/11 odds-on* (odds recorded at 21:09 GMT on April 27th, 2021 at Coral).

He made a successful reappearance seven weeks ago, right here at Ascot. That was in the Sagaro Stakes, another impressive victory notched up by him.

That was a very pleasing return to winning ways, for the best stayer of this generation. Stradivarius has pretty much been untouchable since 2018.

That fourth Gold Cup success doesn’t look to be beyond him whatsoever and the 7-year-old form at the Sagaro sets him up well for Thursday.

Subjectivist the biggest threat to the favourite?

From a quote of 6/1, there may be plenty of appeal in Ascot Gold Cup odds on SUBJECTIVIST to be the one to potentially upset the favourite* (odds recorded at 21:09 GMT on April 27th, 2021 at Coral).

He has some nice form behind him having scored a 2m success in Dubai. He shaped well enough to suggest that he has this extra trip in his range.

That victory in Dubai was the third success for Subjectivist in his last four runs and looks as if he will prefer a stern test of stains.

He proved good stamina to score the Prix Royal-Oak last season in some heavy conditions. The 4-year-old could have a big impact at Royal Ascot on Thursday.

Place claims look strong after bolting up to win by 6l in that Meydan effort 82 days ago.

Trueshan looks in good shape

Connections have to be happy with TRUESHAN at the moment. He is trading well as the 4/1 second-favourite in Ascot Gold Cup odds* (odds recorded at 21:09 GMT on April 27th, 2021 at Coral).

There was a second palace finish for Trueshan on his reappearance, finishing behind Japan in the Ormonde at Chester 41 days ago. That didn’t look to be a favourable distance for him.

That was an encouraging enough start. Trueshan has taken a victory over Stradivarius before. That was here at Ascot in the Long Distance Cup in October.

But Stradivarius produced the poorest run of his entire career in that one, which obviously affected the outcome.

Coming up on a trip is likely to help out the case of Trueshan on Thursday and some forecasted rain could help his chances as well.

York winner Spanish Mission could have a run at the palaces

SPANISH MISSION is a 12/1 quote in Ascot Gold Cup odds* (odds recorded at 21:09 GMT on April 27th, 2021 at Coral).

He returned to winning ways for trainer Andrew Balding at York last month in the Yorkshire Cup, taking the win over Santiago who re-opposes.

Spanish Mission just kept on well there, gradually increasing his advantage. He is an excellent consistent performer and looks to have bags of stamina to take this one.

That was proven when he scored the Doncaster Cup back in September. There are more than reasonable places that claim to come from him on Thursday.

Emperor Of The Sun could get in the frame

After a good win at Leopardstown last month, EMPEROR OF THE SUN looks to have solid place claims.

He is a quote of 22/1 e/w for Ascot Gold Cup odds* (odds recorded at 21:09 GMT on April 27th, 2021 at Coral).

That victory was in a listed contest at Leopardstown, the first that he has recorded at that level. But a sterner test at a higher class doesn’t look beyond him.

Emperor Of The Sun looks as if he is going to relish and thrive under more testing conditions.

The 4-year-old is coming on well for Donnacha O’Brien and looks math fit at that recent score.

The trip looks to be within his range and Emperor Of The Sun looks ready for a good scrap.

Rest of the runners

NAYEF ROAD was second to Stradivarius last year in the Gold Cup. His current form is well down, however, and doesn’t look likely at the moment.

RIP VAN LIPS won Group 2 in Germany 39 days ago and got the blinkers on for the first time. He probably has the trip in him, but may not handle the class.

TWILIGHT PAYMENT has taken back to back third-place finishes in current form. He was nowhere near Emperor of The Sun at Leopardstown last time out.

AMRHAN NA BHFIANN gets the blinkers on and is unexposed. He was fourth behind Emperor of The Sun at Leopardstown last time out.

BEN LILLY has taken a couple of wins this season in handicapping. But this looks like being a really tough trip.

SANTIAGO has the quality in him but was soundly beaten by Spanish Mission in the Yorkshire Cup. The former Irish Derby winner just looks a tad bit short on current form. Place claims are not unreasonable.

SERPENTINE has been supplemented for this, which is interesting. He came up a long way in the trip and has struggled since that astounding Derby success last year.

Predictions & Tips for Ascot Gold Cup Racing Odds

How do you oppose STRADIVARIUS even though the comes in at a quote of 10/11 odds-on* (odds recorded at 21:09 GMT on April 27th, 2021 at Coral)?

With the Sagaro Stakes under his belt on a return to winning ways, that just looks ominous for the rest of the field.

EMPEROR OF THE SUN looks like a nice 22/1 each-way shot for Ascot Gold Cup betting* (odds recorded at 21:09 GMT on April 27th, 2021 at Coral).

He looks as if he could have a fair bit more to offer coming up on the trip.

Running with good place claims is SUBJECTIVIST at 6/1* (odds recorded at 21:09 GMT on April 27th, 2021 at Coral).

He is an exciting one and after bolting up so well in the Dubai Gold Cup, could relish this longer trip.
