PIRANESI is the 9/4 market leader for this contest* (betting odds taken from Bet365 at 02:37 GMT on Friday, 2nd October 2020).

After a solid debut at Newmarket, Piranesi followed up with a win on his second attempt which was at Yarmouth in July.

It was a second-place finish at Newbury following that, producing another good run. The extra trip there at Newbury perhaps didn’t naturally work in his favour, so he should be stronger back at a mile.

He looks in good shape at the moment and that was a pretty useful minor event that he got the score in. We would have to roll with him as our pick.

UK Racing Odds & Tips

Bringing a bit more experience to the table is TULFARRIS who returned to action with a second place finish. That was, notably, over course and distance last month.

He was then thrown in the Cambridgeshire at Newmarket on a 1m 1f trip and didn’t produce anything sparkling finishing in 14th of 27. The drop in trip may play back to his advantage.

The other name that we will pull for this one is BADENSCOTH who scored in a 6 runner event at Goodwood in August.

He was dominant in that fixture as well at a 1m 1f trip. He has plenty of experience behind him, and it looks as if he should be able to come up with something on a slight drop in trip.

Race Favourite

It’s a small field of four for this Listed action and it is BERKSHIRE ROCCO who is the runaway odds-on favourite at 4/7* (betting odds taken from Bet365 at 02:37 GMT on Friday, 2nd October 2020). He has delivered a lot of consistency this season.

It has been three runners up finishes in four runs this season, the best of those coming on his last effort. BERKSHIRE ROCCO fought so well to rattle the crossbar.

He has taken a drop down in class for this one after his recent second at the St Leger at Doncaster. Because of that we can see him taking a victory.

UK Racing Odds & Tips

It’s only worth pulling one more nomination for this Ascot fixture and that will be WITHOUT A FIGHT who is sitting on a four-timer. He was last in action a month ago and got his hat trick with plenty to spare.

That was at Haydock in a class 2 handicap and it was on his handicap debut. He looks as if he will have no trouble at this trip either.

Without A Fight is a highly progressive sort and may be able to launch a nice bold bid here.

TIGER CRUSADE is the 7/2 favourite for this trip* (betting odds taken from Bet365 at 02:37 GMT on Friday, 2nd October 2020).

On his reappearance for the season, he produced an excellent 7f win in a Doncaster handicap.

On his follow up run he went over course and distance when he finished third. He is only up 1lb in the rating and it’s likely that he is going to be in the frame.

It’s been a couple of months since his last run, but the unexposed youngster looks a good fit.

UK Racing Odds & Tips

The step back up in trip should play to the strengths of ARBALET for this one. On his last run, he was on a course and distance run and took second place there.

He was hampered as well along the way or he could have gotten a score on the board.

Arbalet was 8th in the Ayr Silver Cup on his last run, but we fancy him to handle the drop in trip and is our e/w pick at 16/1* (betting odds taken from Bet365 at 02:37 GMT on Friday, 2nd October 2020).

RAAEQ does need to be respected for these contest as well. He has won two of four races, so he is a lightly raced youngster.

The son of Kinghman takes a 6lb jump in the ratings now following his last run three weeks ago. That was when he scored in a 1m handicap at Sandown. There’s plenty of promise in him.

Race Favourite

This looks like it is going to be a cracking race. It is NATURAL HISTORY who is the 7/4 favourite for it* (betting odds taken from Bet365 at 02:37 GMT on Friday, 2nd October 2020). It was only three weeks ago that he stepped back into action after 2 years away.

But what a return it was as the Andrew Balding-trained gelding (owned by The Queen) scored a win at Chester. The five year old is pretty low mileage really.

The key thing here will be how quick his recovery period is after getting some competitive air in his lungs again. Natural History goes up 3lb in the rating.

UK Racing Odds & Tips

The pick for us in this handicap, however, is BEHOLDEN who has been getting closer and closer to a win. He has taken three straight runners up spots and only made his handicap debut 10 weeks ago.

He wasn’t far away from the winner in that one in a race that didn’t go his way.

There should be a lot of improvement to come, so he piques a lot of interest at 11/4* (betting odds taken from Bet365 at 02:37 GMT on Friday, 2nd October 2020). It’s been good stuff since a switch to the flat.

The other would be DAL HORRISGLE who is just returning from a wind operation. So the benefits of that will be interesting to watch out for.

2019 was a good year for him as he was coming along very well. He hasn’t quite been at since his reappearance, but with a new yard and wind surgery, there could be better to come from him.

It is TYSON FURY who is the 5/4 favourite for this novice stakes action at Ascot on Friday* (betting odds taken from Bet365 at 02:37 GMT on Friday, 2nd October 2020).

On just his second racetrack appearance he was thrown into action at the St Leger.

He had little chance there and finished ninth. That came after an impressive win on his debut, which was secured at Doncaster.

It’s that form which should be taken into context and he will make our pick.

UK Racing Odds & Tips

GOLDEN RULES looks to be the biggest threat to the favourite in his one. That is because it had a good debut, with a fourth-place finish.

There was plenty there to be encouraged by as he came into his second racetrack appearance.

There could be more progress to come from maiden CADEAU D’OR as he comes up on trip. He battled well to claim a third-place at Salisbury on his last run, not too far away from the winner.

It is SOCIETY LION who is heading up the market for this final race of the day at Ascot on Friday. He is a 7/2 market leader* (betting odds taken from Bet365 at 02:37 GMT on Friday, 2nd October 2020). He is a good traveller and has been carrying nice form.

His last three races have been at a 7f distance, kicking offer with a fantastic win in a handicap during the Glorious Goodwood festival.

He has been in the frame in the two distance efforts since then. So shaving off a little in trip could see him feature well as he is our pick at 7/2* (betting odds taken from Bet365 at 02:37 GMT on Friday, 2nd October 2020).

UK Racing Odds & Tips

KING’S LYNN is one to watch in the market as well after not getting it together in the Ayr Silver Cup but there were excuses there.

He had gone as the favourite for that, so he is worth another look. He looked a little bit green at Ayr, but is worth revisiting.

The other name for the list would be COLD FRONT who is an extremely consistent runner. He is taking a drop in distance, but he has proven before to have the turn of foot in him to handle the trip.

There was good form him in claiming a second at Doncaster last time out.
