Champions League betting Odds moves on to the quarter finals this week, starting on Wednesday, August 12th. There now comes the big shake up in this disjointed season.

The two-legged play offs have gone, and it’s all just a straight knockout game on the night for the teams involved.

Here we take a look at the latest Champion League betting odds now that the dust has settled on the round of sixteen.

The UEFA Champions League quarter finals kicks off on Wednesday with Atalanta vs PSG.

Atalanta opened their debut Champions League campaign with a loss, a heavy 4-0 loss at Dinamo Zagreb.

The Italians actually lost their first three group stage games, conceding 11 goals.

At that point they looked out of their depth. But then they miraculously turned things around, starting with a draw against Man City before winning their two final games to get through.

That put them through to a round of sixteen tie against Valencia, which was a cracker. Atalanta claimed an 8-4 aggregate win in that tie.

Atalanta had a tremendous season in Serie A, finishing third, but they were easily the highest scoring side in the division.

This will be the first meeting between the two clubs.

PSG secured another domestic treble. But their league campaign ended back at the end of February.

They have only played two matches since July, winning the French Cup over St Etienne and then the French League Cup over Lyon. They didn’t look particularly sharp in either.

In contrast Atalanta have played 10 games since the start of July. They have also scored in every game played since a league draw with Sampdoria on November 10th 2020.

We would be happy enough to roll with the underdog success, namely Atalanta getting through.

They are playing some wonderful stuff, and have a lot more match fitness under their belt which could be telling in the latter stages of this game.

The Italians pose a good threat here on neutral territory.

This is an interesting clash in the quarter finals for Champions League betting. Atletico Madrid found their feet in La Liga after the restart.

They came much more into their own and looked like their old selves after a bit of a stuttering campaign and did enough to finish third.

This will be the first time that Atletico Madrid and RB Leipzig have met.

Atleti came through their group stage along with Juventus and then shook up the competition by eliminating holders Liverpool 3-0 on aggregate in the round of sixteen.

Atletico won both games in that tie. Notably they have collected a clean sheet in two of their last three Champions League games, tallying four from eight games in this campaign.

Will they be able to keep RB Leipzig at bay? Notably, the Germans are no longer running without the services of striker Timo Werner.

Leipzig had a comfortable time in the group stage taking a W3 D2 L1 record from their fixture. That put them through to a round of sixteen tie against Tottenham.

RB Leipzig breezed through that with a 4-0 aggregate.

This will be the first game for them however, since the end of the Bundesliga season on June 27th. Atletico Madrid in contrast have played six games since that date.

Champions League Betting Odds Prediction: Atletico to win 13/10

Atletico Madrid are unbeaten since their season restarted, winning 7 of 11 games played and giving up just two goals in their last five fixtures.

Because of just having that extra match sharpness, and taking into account Leipzig have lost their talismanic striker, we would lean towards the experience of the Spaniards to pull through.

Barcelona vs Bayern Munich Champions League Betting Odds

This is the heavyweight clash of the round without question. The two former champions Barcelona and Bayern Munich go head to head for a berth in the final four.

Barcelona struggled with some indifferent form after their league campaign was restarted. So much so that they threw away the league title.

They had a round of sixteen tie to settle against Napoli last weekend, after the two had taken a 1-1 draw in the first leg.

Barcelona, on a crazy night of VAR action secured a 3-1 win at home in the second leg to get through.

It’s worth remembering that this is on neutral ground, so the big home advantage of Barcelona is wiped out and we think that makes them a little more vulnerable.

They haven’t looked particularly sharp in defence this season and that could be problematic with Robert Lewandowski paying a visit.

The Bayern Munich striker has scored 13 goals in 7 Champions League fixtures this season. Their league season did end a lot sooner than that of Barcelona’s.

Since beating Bayer Leverkusen in the German Cup Final on July 4th, Bayern’s only game saw them claim a 3-1 home win over Chelsea in the second leg of their Round of Sixteen tie last weekend.

Bayern Munich have scored a total of fifteen goals in their last four games across all competitions, but have only two clean sheets in their last eight.

This should be a cracker.

Head to head

This will be the first meeting between the two European giants since a 2015 semi clash which Barcelona won 5-3 on aggregate.

However, Barcelona have won only one of their last five against the Germans (D1 L3). So the current head to head form overall is with the Bundesliga team.

Five of the last six clashes have gone over 2.5 goals.

Champions League Betting Odds Prediction: Bayern Munich to win at 19/20

Barcelona do have a little advantage in that they should be a little more match sharp.

But Bayern Munich look the better of the two sides this season and even though we fully expect both teams to get on the scoresheet on the night, the Germans get the nod.

They will have been paying close attention to how teams have had Barcelona rattled since the re-start.

The last of the English Premier League clubs standing in this season’s UEFA Champions League takes to the stage on Saturday for their quarter final match.

Manchester City were up against Real Madrid in the round of sixteen and thanks to some horrendous defending by the Spaniards in the second leg, the Citizens marched on.

Manchester City are W6 D2 in this season’s Champions League, but they have not taken a clean sheet in any of their last six played, so that’s about the only concern surrounding them.

They obviously have a big focus on progress in the Champions League, especially with them having missed out on the Premier League title to Liverpool.

The only game that City have lost in their last seven was their FA Cup semi final against Arsenal.

Even though the defence of the Citizens has, by and large, been ropey this season by their standards, they have collected a clean sheet in four of their last seven games.

Lyon have played only two games since the start of July. The first of them ended in a defeat in the French League Cup final to PSG via a penalty shoot out.

Then the French side faced Juventus for the second leg of their Champions League round of sixteen tie. Les Gones lost that 2-1 in Turin, but squeezed through on away goals.

So anyway, that means Lyon have failed to win any of their last four games in all competitions, going D1 L3 over 90 minutes.

Lyon are W3 D2 L3 in this season’s Champions League.

Head to head:

The only other meetings that the two clubs had was in the 2018 Champions League group stage. Lyon sprung a surprise on matchday one with a 2-1 success at the Etihad, before playing out a 2-2 draw at home against the Citizens.

Champions League Betting Odds Prediction: Man City To Win & BTTS at 7/4

We expect Manchester City to find their way through this fixture. They played well against Real Madrid, benefitting from poor defending on Real’s part at the end of the day.

There will be concerns about City keeping a clean sheet so we would back both teams to get on the scoresheet. But a win for City looks right against Les Gones who have fallen in some recent big matches.
