Champions League Draw and Odds Update – Champions League Betting

City are new favourites for Champions League

Champions League Betting

Manchester City are the new favourites for the Champions League after the draw for the last 16 was made. City, 11 points clear at the top of the Premier League after Sunday’s derby win over nearest rivals Manchester United at Old Trafford, are as short as 3/1 with several bookmakers after being paired with FC Basel. The Swiss champions were runner’s up to United in the group stages but beat Jose Mourinho’s men at St-Jakob’s Park, where City will play the first leg of their sudden-death tie in February. Pep Guardiola is, of course, bidding to win Europe’s premier club competition for the third time as a manager.

Champions League Last 16 draw

Juventus vs Tottenham Hotspur

Basel vs Manchester City

Porto vs Liverpool

Sevilla vs Manchester United

Real Madrid vs Paris Saint-Germain

Shakhtar Donetsk vs Roma

Chelsea vs Barcelona

Bayern Munich vs Besiktas

Manchester United will play Sevilla and also have the advantage of a home match in the second leg. They are available at 16/1 to win the Champions League, the same odds as Liverpool, who will take on Porto. Tottenham Hotspur are out to a general 25/1, however, after being paired with last year’s losing finalists Juventus, though they will have the second leg at home. Chelsea, the reigning Premier League champions, were the only English side not to top their group and they’ve paid the price with a last-16 draw against Barcelona – the sixth time that they’ve been paired with the Catalan giants in the knockout stages of Champions League. That has seen Antonio Conte’s team pushed out to 33/1 with Barca listed at 15/2 by Betway.

The tie of the round sees defending champions Real Madrid face Paris Saint-Germain. Star-studded PSG are now 11/2 with 888sport, despite losing their final group game against Bayern Munich with Real priced up at 8/1. Bayern can be backed at 6/1.
