Manchester City are the new favourites for the Champions League after the draw for the last 16 was made. City, 11 points clear at the top of the Premier League after Sunday’s derby win over nearest rivals Manchester United at Old Trafford, are as short as 3/1 with several bookmakers after being paired with FC Basel. The Swiss champions were runner’s up to United in the group stages but beat Jose Mourinho’s men at St-Jakob’s Park, where City will play the first leg of their sudden-death tie in February.
