Pogo 7/2 FAV in Hungerford Stakes Racing Odds
At the head of the market for Hungerford Stakes tips is POGO at 7/2* (odds recorded at 20:11 GMT on August 12th, 2022 at Coral).
He has steadily come into some very good form recently and the 6-year-old should be a big contender on Saturday.
There were back-to-back Group 3 wins earlier in this campaign for him.
Those were taken at Haydock and then Newmarket in the summer. On a hattrick bid, Pogo was then sent to the Lennox at Goodwood.
Pogo only managed a third-place finish in that one but wasn’t disgraced in a strong renewal.
He’s just been steaming along on the 7f trip recently. He likes to go strongly from the front and will rate as a danger.
Tiber Flow has a big shout at Newbury
There are big claims for TIBER FLOW as well on Saturday. He is on the shortlist for Hungerford Stakes tips.
Tiber Flow earned a hattrick at the start of the season.
In picking up four wins in his first five appearances, he has been a hot ticket most of the way.
One of the wins that he has recorded has been here at Newbury. That was back in May on a slightly shorter 6f trip.
Tiber Flow went to the Commonwealth Cup at Royal Ascot for his latest effort.
That surprisingly didn’t quite pan out as expected, Tiber Flow finishing down the field in it.
He is best judged on his prior form and therefore he should be bang in this for William Haggas.

Can former winner Chindit deliver?
As a former winner of this race, CHINDIT is no forlorn hope on the weekend in the 2022 renewal.
It’s questionable whether he really enjoys the 7f distance or not.
But the previous course and distance success gets him in this one.
He won’t fear the conditions. Chindit lines up as a 9/2 option* (odds recorded at 20:11 GMT on August 12th, 2022 at Coral).
Just last month Chindit won at this grade, scoring the Summer Mile at Ascot.
There have been two wins in five runs by him this season, that Ascot score adding to one taken at Doncaster.
On his latest effort, Chindit was at Glorious Goodwood in the Qatar Stakes (Group 1).
He was well held in that one. But his sights are lowered slightly for Saturday but will carry a 3lb penalty for being a Group 2 winner.
Double Or Bubble not without a shout
Another that is coming down in grade on Saturday is DOUBLE OR BUBBLE. So that also makes her interesting.
Double Or Bubble opened her season with a Group 3 score in the Abernant at Newmarket.
She has been pushed up to the top level the last two times.
Double Or Bubble performed with credit at the top level in the Platinum Jubilee Stakes at Royal Ascot, then the July Cup Stakes back at Newmarket.
She is effective on the 7f trip and not to be discounted.

Happy Romance tests her stamina
Another with some good claims adding to the depth of this race is HAPPY ROMANCE.
Her stamina will be heavily tested on the weekend.
But if she stays then there is no reason why she can’t find herself in the frame.
Happy Romance has a good track record at Newbury, with two wins in five previous efforts here.
She was in Hackwood here on her last effort (Group3) around a month ago.

The rest of the runners
JUMBY has largely been in consistent form this season, notably taking place finishes in the Wokingham and the Bunbury Cup. Wins are evading him this season. Jumby was well below his best when seen at Ascot three weeks ago.
RUN TO FREEDOM has a chance with a big run on the weekend. He has won two of his last three (conditions and listed). There was a 7f score by him as a 3-year-old and has outsider claims.

DUBAI POET was last season eight weeks ago, finishing third in the Jersey Stakes at Royal Ascot. He’s not without place claims if he is in top form.
WINGS OF WAR is the outsider in this contest. He did win at 6f here last season. He’s been in solid if not spectacular form this campaign. Wings Of War was third in a Group 3 in Ireland a week ago.
