The 13:45 from Lingfield is the Betway Casino Handicap with 11 starters taking on the challenge. The race is open to 3-year-olds and up and is a class 2 affair over 1m 2f. While there does appear to be some very strong charges at the head of the field like Kasbaan and Entangling, the field runs a lot deeper.

Kasbaan heads the field
Kasbaan took a second-place finish at Chelmsford in his last outing, but in the context of this race, he was a couple of lengths clear of Victory Bond. So that’s something to note for this one. The 4-year-old has plenty of running in him and has course and distance behind him as well. He has looked very impressive since trainer Mick Appleby took charge of him.
Even though Victory Bond was behind Kasbaan in their recent duel at Chelmsford, he is a horse with course and distance and is rated a touch higher than his competitors. He did improve to get that third place at Chelmsford but there has been four victories by him from a 1m to 1m 2f. The question will be whether or not he can find that extra step.
Entangling’s rapid rise
After what Entangling pulled out in his last race, the progressive three-year-old is going to pique a lot of interest for this effort. In a 1m trip at Kempton, Entangling defied the odds of 50/1 to take the win over Bear Force One by half a length. That was some return on his first showing for David Elsworth. He doesn’t look as if he would mind the extra distance at Lingfield on Wednesday. He has won four times from 1m 1f to 1m 2f.
Kuwait Currency is the highest-rated horse in the field and is up at the top end of the weights. He is well used to this distance and he has some great consistency at 12122 in his last five races. He was second over course and distance just last month and the three-year-old looks as if he get his nose in the picture.
Mustarrid to surprise?
There are 8/1 odds on offer at Betway for Mustarrid who has a couple of things going for him* (Betting odds taken from Betway on December 3rd, 2019 at 5:12 pm). He is well handicapped and he goes to Lingfield on the back of a win at Nottingham in his last run. That run was back in October so he will be well-rested and has taken a couple of wins on artificial tracks. The 5-year-old has won three times up to 1m distance, will be taking on a little extra distance. But the way he won at Nottingham over Dubai Acclaim makes him an interesting selection.
