Midland Millie and Crack On Corrie
Five year old Midland Millie has had back-to-back place finishes. In her last run she took third on some heavy going at Gowran Park in November. That was from a field of fifteen over 2m. So she should be fine at this distance having worked her way up. Crack On Corrie produced a second place finish last time out and is six pounds lighter than Midland Millie.
She was a 7/1 at Clonmel last month at this race’s distance and gave a good account of herself. She has won before in her career a 2m 2f but that was a couple of years ago. Around the sevens

An Marcach has taken one place only from eight previous starts. He was a 10/1 option at Cork in early December and was second. So the five year old does make for an interesting prospect in this one. Capture The Action has won over 3m and she grabbed fourth at Clonmel over this 2m 3f furlong distance from 6/1.
Others of note
Before getting into the realm of double figures, there is Eagle Roque who has really not done enough to suggest that he is going to come up trumps in a congested, competitive field like this. He is looking for his first ever win, having placed in only 3 of his previous 12 national hunt flat races. He went over 3m last time out and was sixth of 14 runners.
Digging deeper down the field there is All About Alfie who was last year’s winner of this race. That’s three hurdle races in his career he has won at around and about this distance. He had a shocked in his last hurdle however, finishing second from last in October and although he is the only course and distance runner in the field, he’s a massive outsider.
