Snow Lantern 5/2 FAV in Sun Chariot Stakes Racing Odds

SNOW LANTERN won at Newmarket earlier this season, impressively landing the score in the Falmouth Stakes on the July Course.

She has stayed in form since then albeit in defeat in her last two.

The latest of those runs was a month ago in the Prix du Moulin in which Snow Lantern posted a credible fourth.

Making the return to run against her own sex, Snow Lantern is expected to be right in the thick of the action on Saturday.

Mother Earth a big threat to the favourite

MOTHER EARTH was the 10000 Guineas heroine this season and she has backed up that form well.

Overall this season it has been nothing but top class consistent running from her, so she is expected to rate as a danger on Saturday.

Mother Earth was last seen at Leopardstown three weeks ago, taking a third-place finish in the Matron Stakes.

There were excuses there because she was squeezed out of position. A clear run then and Mother Earth could easily have scored because she was travelling well.

Saffron Beach another of the key contenders

SAFFRON BEACH ran herself back into great form on her latest. That was in the Atalanta Stakes at Sandown, over a 1m trip in August.

She demolished the field impressively on the day, beating Waliyak by more than two lengths. This is a tougher assignment.

But Saffron Beach has won twice at Newmarket before and that score at Atalanta Stakes was a marked step forward in form.

Lavender’s Blue brings place claims

There have been two wins for LAVENDER’S BLUE this season. The latest of those was at Goodwood in the Celebration Mile.

That was an eye-catching effort as she had to really scrap and fight it out against Benbatl to get the win by a short head.

So Lavender’s Blue appears to be in a competitive mood if nothing else. The cheekpieces were left off for that run and they stayed off for Saturday.

Just Beautiful could fight for the places

Another with some more than reasonable place claims for this Newmarket contest is JUST BEAUTIFUL.

She will need to find a little further progress, but getting in the fight is not beyond her. Just beautiful has won three of five runs this season.

The most recent of those was in the Sceptre Stakes at Doncaster just over three weeks ago. She stuck to her task well, showing an excellent attitude.

CHAMPS ELYSEES was sixth of thirteen at Leopardstown in the Matron Stakes on her latest. It’s been a winless campaign from her so far, but place claims are there.

DREAMLOPER won a Group 3 at Ascot in July but has struggled to get anywhere near that kind of form since. There was a poor effort in the Matron Stakes from her last time out.

EPONA PLAYS opened the season with back to back wins. She carded a good fifth in the Matron Stakes and no forlorn hope on Saturday.

FEV ROVER was second in the Boomerang Stakes at Leopardstown three weeks ago. This will demand more, but she’s low mileage.

NO SPEAK ALEXANDER has won two of her four runs this season. She won the Matron Stakes last time out, beating a few of these rivals. She should be back in the calculations.

PRIMO BACIO has a lot on her plate in this one most likely for Ed Walker. She’s a smart filly, but the form has gone backwards a little bit the last two times.

SHALE has a lot to do given her current lack of form. She was well down the field in the Matron on her latest.

TAHLIE has a first run for Roger Varian on Saturday. She’s done well this season, collecting a hattrick before a credible eighth in the Prix Rothschild. Tahlie could offer place claims.

Predictions & Tips for Newmarket Sun Chariot Stakes Racing Odds

There are some obvious big claims for SNOW LANTERN who hasn’t been outside of the top two on the Rowley Mile.

She dominated here in the Falmouth Stakes on the July Course earlier this year and has continued to acquit herself well against strong company.

MOTHER EARTH can’t be written off at all here after landing the 1000 Guineas and going well against in the Matron Stakes.

She’s continued to go in form and probably would have won at Leopardstown last month if she hadn’t been squeezed out.

She’s well worth chancing at 3/1* (odds recorded at 21:09 GMT on April 27th, 2021 at Coral).

Filling out the places for us is going to be SAFFRON BEACH because she doesn’t look as if she has reached anywhere near her full potential yet.

If there is a major upset in this field then Saffron Beach is likely going to be the one to deliver it.
