Australia’s Adam Scott is a past winner of The Players, but his victory was over a decade ago. Has had another pretty solid year during 2014 with three top ten finishes since January 1st, and his lowest finish has been a T25 at the WGC Cadillac. His last two outings at TPC Sawgrass have been pretty solid, both top twenty finishes. A lot of punters may well be leaning towards Matt Kuchar this week, because while he has been suffering from a case of the Sunday jitters this season, he put them all behind him in winning the RBC Heritage recently. Bang in form and hard to ignore here, heading to TPC Sawgrass with four straight top five finishes under his belt. Oh yeah, he won The Players two years ago as well. A fantastic fit all around.
So too is is Luke Donald, who is showing some pretty handy form at the moment, with top ten finishes in half of his last six starts. Has made the cut in each of his last seven outings at the Players, and each of his last three have produced top twenty results. You can pretty much bundle Sergio Garcia in there alongside Donald as well, as the Spaniard has made the cut in each of his last ten outings at TPC Sawgrass, including a victory in 2008 and earned a share of eighth last year.
