PSG v Bayern Munich Betting Tips

What a great match we have in the group stage here. Both won their opening fixtures in the group stage comfortably two weeks ago and so this is a showdown for top spot supremacy at the Parc des Princes. The two have contested six previous matches (which have all been in the UEFA Champions League group stage) and all but one of those meetings were won by the home side. It’s been a while since they have met though, this is is their first cash since the 2000/01 season with PSG winning 1-0 at home then. In the bet365 correct score market, a PSG 1-0 result is a pretty big 14/1 price and this because a lot of goals are expected in this one. The shortest priced option in the bet365 market is a 2-1 win for PSG at 8/1. Since a defeat against Hapoel Tel Aviv in the 2006/07 UEFA Cup group stage, PSG have lost just one of their last 43 games at home in Europe. That defeat was against Barcelona in the 2014/15 quarter finals. PSG picked up five points from their three group stage games last season and they took a 2-1 win over Bayer Leverkusen in the 2013/14 season, which is the last time they hosted a Bundesliga club. PSG won 2-1 and that extended their record of never having lost at home to German visitors (W5 D1). Both teams to score at bet365 is a short 4/11 price.

There is a real embarrassment of riches in the goalscorer markets for this one. It’s easy to see why this is expected to be a high scoring game. PSG’s Edinson Cavani and Neymar the joint 4/6 bet365 anytime goalscorer favourites. Cavani has nine goals in nine games this season in all competitions. Bayern Munich’s Robert Lewandowski is a 4/5 option to score at any time and Lewandowski has scored 12 goals in 11 appearances for club and country this season. Bayern’s last trip to France ended in a 1-0 victory at Lille and they are on a three match winning streak in France where their overall record is W6 D3 L6. They have done pretty well there with just the one defeat in their last eight visits to France, with that sole defeat happening at Bordeaux in the 2009/10 group stage. Last season they lacked a bit of conviction on the road in the group stage, picking up just a W1 L2 record. Bayern have won only two of their last eight European away games, losing four. Over 3.5 goals at bet365 in this one has to be worth a shot at 5/6. This should be some match and after a three match clean-sheet streak that Bayern were on in all competitions, they had two put past them by Wolfsburg in a draw at the Allianz. PSG will fancy their chances in this one. This should be some match.

PSG v Bayern Munich Predictions

PSG to win: PSG may prove to be just a bit too strong for Bayern Munich on home soil. The Germans are not quite as defensively strong at the moment as they have been and PSG can take advantage of that. Both teams to score and over 2.5 goals should have appeal.
