Leadingstar goes for the hat-trick
HELENE LEADINGSTAR seem to be more relaxed nowadays and is clearly in good shape, even though he has only won his last two races over shorter distances by a neck.
A winner over 1m4f in his native Australia, he beat all of today’s rivals over 1m2f four weeks ago and meets them all on similar terms this being another handicap. With the in-form Karis Teetan again taking the reins, he looks the one to beat at a general 6/5.
Savvy Nine and Helene Charisma (0-25 at Sha Tin) will probably carry overweight so Eagle Way may turn out to be the pick of John Moore’s quartet of runners.
Is Purton’s mount the way forward?
The winner of the Queen Mother Memorial Cup in 2017, the top weight was fourth in 2018 and runs in nearly all of the select few races run at Sha Tin over 1m4f. Zac Purton has only ridden him once before and the partnership was successful on that occasion so his return to the saddle in significant. The seven-year-old is a best 7/2.
Chefano is 1-16 and that sole victory was over 1m1f so stamina may be an issue.
