ARECIBO should be a big player in this contest and he does step into some calmer waters in this one.

That gives him a good shot at things in the race. Arecibo was up at the listed level last time out at Sandown and put in a credible run in the Coral Charge.

Three races ago he landed a good place finish in the Temple Stakes at Haydock.

This is a competitive handicap but it should still be well within his range.

KING OF STARS was in the frame with a runners-up finish at course and distance a couple of weeks ago.

He hasn’t managed to pick up a win this season, but he has been in the frame in two of the last three.

King Of Stars easily warrants a place on the shortlist for racing tips in this one, particularly if he can tap into the same kind of level as last time out.

LAMPANG has won two of his last four runs, which were both 6f handicaps at Ayr and Pontefract.

He was seen in the Stewards’ Cup at Goodwood last weekend, but a line can be drawn through that one. He looks like a threat in this.

JUDICIAL is also worth a look as the veteran has won at higher levels than this before. He teams up with Frankie Dettori on Saturday.

He has shown signs of still having the ability, particularly on the all-weather back in the spring. Judicial is an interesting contender here.

Tip: KING OF STARS 5/1

Ones to watch: Arecibo 9/2, Lampang 10/1

SUPER SUPERJACK has had a tremendous season, one that he opened with back-to-back victories.

He has just been thriving and being a former course and distance winner, he rates as a big danger in this one.

Super Superjack was last seen taking a runners-up spot at Goodwood in a handicap 8 days ago, responding well.

A little more room to work with at the finish may have got him there.

THRONE HALL has been knocking around class 3 handicaps recently and has put in some credible efforts.

He is moved to this distance for the first time. Throne Hall is very useful and has been in the frame in each of his last four.

Throne Hall is in the midst of a long winless streak of form at the moment. But there is a reasonable chance of him making his presence felt.

ROCK EAGLE should be competitive again after landing a runners-up spot in a 2m handicap at Newbury three weeks ago.

He does continue to churn out some good performances. Whether or not he can do enough to win is questionable. Place claims are there, however.

MAKE MY DAY is another interesting player in this field and he comes down on a trip after some recent struggles at much longer distances.

He was holding better form earlier in the season on 2m contests, however. Make My Day was a runner-up at course and distance earlier this campaign.

Tip: SUPER SUPERJACK 9/4

Ones to watch: Throne Hall 11/2, Make My Day 10/1

PRIDE OF PRIORY looks like a big threat in this one as he has been on the up recently.

It’s been back-to-back wins for the Willie Haggas-trained 4-year-old.

It’s been excellent progress, although he was well-held on his first two turf appearances this season.

The current all-weather form does put him in this one, however. He’s on the up and perhaps this time the turf will be handled better.

CHARGING THUNDER has won three of his last four starts and just hasn’t put a foot wrong recently.

So he has it in him. Despite coming up a long way in the weights in a short amount of time since a score at Pontefract in June, Charging Thunder is a big player here.

THE WHIPMASTER has been thriving lately and is another that easily gets on the shorts for racing tips.

On his penultimate run, he completed a four-timer with a score at Windsor. He couldn’t extend that twinning form.

But a close runners-up finish at the course and distance two weeks ago against a good one, saw The Whipmaster stay in top form as he was only taken out by another top rival.

There has been a small 1lb rise for The Whipmaster, but on current form, he should be far away in this contest.

Tip: THE WHIPMASTER 7/2

Ones to watch: Pride Of Priory 7/2, Charging Thunder 4/1

Distance: 1m

MONTASSIB is a leading contender in the Shergar Cup Mile after another good season.

There were good back-to-back scores at Wetherby and Goodwood earlier this season. He was then sent into bigger contests.

The Buckingham Palace and Bunbury Cup efforts by Montassib were both very credible runs.

On the move up to the 1m trip staying at the same mark, he could be tough to knock over.

ISLA KAI is an obvious threat to the favourites in this competitive handicap on the weekend.

He produced a good run at York last time out, finishing in fourth place on a good run. He hasn’t been able to add to his tally this season.

But Isla Kai has been in good consistent form nonetheless and there are easy place claims for him.

REDARNA is interesting here after a runners-up finish at Contract three weeks ago. That result should have been better but he lost focus at the end.

Still, it’s been a good campaign by the former course winner. Redarna took the Hunt Cup back in April and can’t be written out of this.

BOPEDRO is another to be interested in for the Shergar Cup Mile on the weekend, as he carded a fourth-place finish on a 1m trip recently.

He didn’t quite get the clean run that he had needed in the fixture. That was his first run for a new yard and immediately looked like an improved model.

Tip: MONTASSIB 2/1

Ones to watch: Bopedro 13/2, Redarna 14/1

HAMAKI was a winner last time out and under Jamie Spencer could take his form further forward.

His win came at Haydock and really delivered on some of the promises that his good juvenile campaign showed.

Hamaki looks as if he should stay on this new trip just fine even though he comes up with 5ln. He could be a big player over the middle distances.

BERKSHIRE BREEZE is just about as consistent of a horse as you could hope to follow. But at the same time, frustrating.

He has been a place finisher in each of his last four runs, being the runner-up the last twice.

Berkshire Breeze was last seen at Haydock and now slides down on the trip, which can help him get in the frame.

APPROACHABILITY drops in class so he is worth a look in horse racing betting tips.

There was a decent run from him at Goodwood 10 days ago. It hinted at a return to form and this is easier.

Another that is worth a look for the shortlist is FRANZ STRAUSS who was a runner-up on his latest effort at Sandown.

He is heading in the right direction this season and is in excellent hands. If he’s treated to a good positive tactic, place claims may be there.

Tip: APPROACHABILITY 10/1

Ones to watch: Berkshire Breeze 4/1, Hamaki 7/2

ADMIRAL D showed plenty of ability in his latest run to warrant respect in this contest on Saturday.

He was a runner-up in a big field of 19 at Newmarket. The form from that reads well and as a juvenile won a couple of 6f trips.

SPANGLED MAC can’t be overlooked as he is just rocketing along at the moment.

He completed a rapid-fire 4-timer last time out when scoring at Yarmouth. Those four wins were all in the space of 15 days.

Spangled Mac has been refreshed for the last 16 days since his most recent score. There is probably more to come.

RAZENYA was a winner at Carlisle a month ago on his latest trip. He looked comfortable in scoring it as well.

That’s two wins in four efforts by her. She’s in top hands and there is likely plenty more to come from her.

STERLING KNIGHT is another that is heading in the right direction and won a couple of times earlier in the season.

One of those wins was a course and distance effort. He was a third-place finish at Windsor just five days ago but looks in good nick overall.

Tip: SPANGLED MAC 5/1

Ones to watch: Sterling Knight 11/1, Razeyna 3/1
