Six Nations Rugby Betting Favourites – France

France are 6/4 to win the tournament outright in Six Nations betting odds 2022* (odds recorded at 16:17 GMT on January 31st 2022 at Bet365).

Last year the French looked to be on course for a title, having won away at Ireland in the second round of action.

But then a narrow 3-point defeat against Twickenham against England saw them under pressure.

Their final match of the campaign was a rescheduled fixture against Scotland which they needed to win by a margin of at least 21 points to deny Wales the title.

France came up short, losing 23-27 on home turf against Scotland as Duhan van der Merwe crossed late for the visitors.

The last Six Nations title for France was in 2010, a Grand Slam season for them in the competition.

This year, France has a chance to come out of the block strongly as they play their first two games at the Stade de France against Italy and Ireland.

France Six Nations 2022 Fixtures

  • Italy home
  • Ireland home
  • Scotland away
  • Wales away
  • England home

Prediction 1st: If France are at full strength, then they should have this in the bag. Home advantage in their first two matches gives them a brilliant platform.

Scotland Six Nations Rugby Odds

Scotland finished fourth in last season’s Championship but finished on a high with a victory over France.

Going into the fourth round of action in last year’s championship the Scots were still in the title hunt.

There were fine margins for Scotland in last year’s Six Nations between success and failure.

Scotland took brilliant wins over England and France, but a late penalty conceded against Ireland and some lapses in discipline and execution against Wales hampered further progress.

One big aspect about Scotland now is that they look to have plenty of depth in this squad to come in.

There’s a big, quality core now with the likes of Rory Sutherland, Finn Russel, Duhan van der Merwe and Stuart Hogg to name but a few.

Scotland are 9/1 in this season’s Six Nations betting* (odds recorded at 16:17 GMT on January 31st 2022 at Bet365).

They get a cracker of a home fixture against England to open with.

There’s a quote of 11/8 on Scotland landing the win over England at Murrayfield on February 5th* (odds recorded at 16:17 GMT on January 31st 2022 at Bet365).

They most certainly are not to be counted out of that one.

Scotland Six Nations Fixtures

England home
Wales away
France home
Italy away
Ireland away

Prediction 2nd: Scotland are not to be taken lightly. If they can deliver the wins at Murrayfield, they can get right in the thick of the title race.

England Six Nations Rugby Betting

England fell a long way short of expected performance levels in the 2021 Six Nations as they limped home in fifth place.

It was a W2 L3 record that they finished with, head coach Eddie Jones clearly needing to shake things up.

England got off on the wrong foot as they suffered a 6-11 home loss at Twickenham on the opening weekend against Scotland.

England’s first match of the new campaign will also be a big Calcutta Cup clash with Scotland at Murrayfield.

In the match outright for that one, England are 4/6 for the victory with Scotland at 11/8* (odds recorded at 16:17 GMT on January 31st 2022 at Bet365).

England’s wins in last season’s Six Nations Championship both happened at Twickenham.

They got their expected victory over Italy and a narrow one over France.

Jones survived in his role after the major setbacks last year but there were positive signs for them in the Autumn internationals.

England weren’t at their strongest for the Autumn matches, but showed plenty of old spark to beat South Africa and Australia.

Can they keep that momentum up?

Their opener against Scotland is huge. Win that and there will be a big chance of getting some momentum with their second fixture to come against Italy.

England Six Nations 2022 Fixtures

  • Scotland away
  • Italy away
  • Wales home
  • Ireland home
  • France away

Prediction 3rd: There’s a chance that England are still feeling a bit of the rebuilding pressure, that’s on them. While existing talents like Marcus Smith comes in, trips to France in the final round of action and to Scotland to open with, are no certainties for Eddie Jones’s men.

Six Nations 2022 Triple Crown Odds

England 2/1
No Triple Crown Winner 13/8
Ireland 2/1
Wales 18/1
Scotland 16/1

Ireland Six Nations Rugby Betting

Ireland face one of the trickier set-ups in the Six Nations as they have to pay a visit to both England and France.

The only time that Ireland have won away at both of those rivals in a single Six Nations tournament was in 2018.

Ireland’s most recent Six Nations title happened that year.

Ireland can boast a settled squad and they will go into the Six Nations on an eight-match winning streak.

There was a big Autumn international victory for them over New Zealand in November.

That is the kind of confidence that could really propel them forward. The men in green have some of their key players who are getting to their twilight, but Ireland are still a big threat.

Ireland six Nations Fixtures

  • Wales home
  • France home
  • Italy home
  • England away
  • Scotland home

Prediction 4th: Ireland may find the going tough as they have to face England and France away, which are tall orders in terms of trying to put together a title-winning run.

Wales Six Nations Rugby Betting Odds

Wales look very unlikely to go into the Six Nations at full strength because recent injuries are working against them.

They will probably miss their captain Alun Wyn Jones for starters for the tournament.

Because they are looking like they have a depleted squad at the moment, it’s understandable that their Six Nations odds have been affected.

Wales are 10/1 outsiders in the outright market in Six Nations odds* (odds recorded at 16:17 GMT on January 31st 2022 at Bet365).

Another factor is that the regions haven’t been up and running as long as the likes of the English Premiership which could hamper sharpness and fitness.

Head coach Wayne Pivac has a big job on his hands this season with the reigning champions.

They kick off their campaign away to Ireland and Wales are 6/1 to get the match win* (odds recorded at 16:17 GMT on January 31st 2022 at Bet365).

Wales Six Nations Rugby Fixtures

  • Ireland away
  • Scotland home
  • England away
  • France home
  • Italy home

Prediction 5th: Wales are not going to be at full strength and this is a season where their title defence may not be particularly fruitful.

Six Nations 2022 Grand Slam Odds

No Grand Slam Winner 8/11
France 10/3
England 7/1
Ireland 7/1

Italy Six nations Odds

Italy’s first three matches of the Six Nations 2022 is likely going to dampen any earlier hopes pretty quickly.

They face France, England and Ireland, offering them little chance to get much momentum going.

Last season the Azzurri suffered their worst ever season in the Six Nations, conceding 239 points.

The Italians return to Six Nations action on a 32-match losing streak, lasting claiming a win when they faced Scotland in 2015.

To make things worse, the Italian clubs haven’t had much playing time either, so the National team is going to be further up against it.

Italy are the obvious odds-on favourites to finish bottom of the table once again in the Six Nations.

Prediction 6th: Same old story for Italy in the Six Nations. Nothing more to be said really.

Six Nations Rugby Prediction

France have to be the genuine favourites here after coming with a stunning victory over New Zealand in the autumn internationals.

Granted Ireland did that too, but the way that France just played an open attacking game against the All Blacks shows some real intent.

If France are at full strength, they are the outright pick at 6/4* (odds recorded at 16:17 GMT on January 31st 2022 at Bet365).

Scotland is a fascinating pick here in Six Nations Odds.

They look threatening and they have two of their key features at home. They host England and France, teams they beat away from home last season.

Scotland have to be worth some consideration in Six Nations Rugby betting odds 2022 from 9/1* (odds recorded at 16:17 GMT on January 31st 2022 at Bet365).
