Rounding off the action at Southwell on Wednesday is the 19:20, which is a Class 5 handicap. This is a six-horse field that is set for the challenge over a distance of 1m 6f.
In the early betting, bookmakers were unable to split two of the contenders. On Tuesday, it was Cold Harbour and Princess Harley were sharing joint favouritism.

Cold Harbour hit with 5lb penalty
It’s always an exciting prospect for a race when you have two strong challengers at the head of the market. Cold Harbour brings big claims after taking a win on his last outing. That was a victory at Southwell in early January.
There is always a price to pay for success and that is a 5lb penalty that has been slapped on the five-year-old. He has won five races of distances 1m 2f to 1m 4f. So this would be a step up in winning distance.
Can Princess Harley beat Cold Harbour again?
Princess Harley is also going into Southwell on the back of a success in her last race. That was at the course back in December last year and it saw her beat Cold Harbour into second place. That was by a head.
There has been very steady, progressive form by the five-year-old and wasn’t just a win over Cold Harbour that she took at Southwell last month, the race also included three other of the runners in this contest.
Can Jamacho improve?
There was a decent run at Wolverhampton from Jamacho in December. That was a nice return to a bit of form from him as he finished third, just three-quarters of a length back from the winner at a massive 40/1 quote.
He is in at 5/1 odds for this one on Wednesday. He has been one struggling for consistency, but if he can get it together he won’t mind the trip as he’s won twice in his career at a longer 2m distance.
The Other Runners
Sociology and Tarsal were well beaten when they lined up against Princess Harley last December. There is little to suggest that either of them are going to be able to turn the tables and get the better of not only Princess Harley but Cold Harbour as well.
Going Native was the other one beaten in that fixture. Her latest outing was over course and distance earlier this January and took a place finish at 7/2. She has won the fibresand before, which was at a shorter 1m 2f distance.
Prediction
Given what she showed in battling past Cold Harbour in December, Princess Harley looks a great option for the step-up in the extra trip. Cold Harbour’s recent success at Southwell, may end up going ahead of him in this rematch as he goes up in the weights for a couple of furlongs.
