Taunton Tuesday 15:25: Boylesports offer 11/4 racing odds on Seen Anything Like – 17th March 2020

The Breac can challenge in Taunton trip

Horse Racing Betting

With the racing moving behind closed doors, punters will still be able to watch races through live streams at bookmakers. That’s just worth remembering. This action from Taunton on Tuesday afternoon is a Novices Handicap over a 2m 2f trip.

The frontrunner in the betting market for the fixture is Seenanythingyoulike but there was plenty of support coming in for Hollwyood Ken who was being trimmed on Monday night ahead of the action.

The Favourite: See Anything You Like

Finally got the first win at the 18th time of asking with a strike at Warwick at the end of December in a 2m chase. Since then he followed up with a fifth-place at Lingfield and then a third here at Taunton.

He did run well at Taunton however, but was still beaten by a heavy distance. He still has something to prove on trips above 2m but he has been travelling well.

In company like this there is a suggestion that he can get in the mix, but is there enough meat on the bone at 11/4* (betting odds taken from Boylesports at 23:18 GMT on Monday, 16th March 2020), that’s the question?

Hollywood Ken

Hollywood Ken is coming in for his chase debut so we’re not sure what to expect from him. It could actually be a very good move by connections as his hurdle career was totally stagnating.

There was a fourth place at Plumpton and then a third at Warwick in his last two trips over hurdles. So there was some steady form there. He’s not bringing winning form to the table though but at 7/2 the market is respecting his chances on his switch* (betting odds taken from Boylesports at 23:18 GMT on Monday, 16th March 2020).

Desque De L’Isle

After coming over France there have been no claims made by Desque De L’Isle, trained by Venetia Williams. He went for his chase debut at Linfield in early January and it was a total no-show. There was absolutely nothing from him, not jumping form and not stamina over a 2m trip. More risks than claims in this one.

Bathiva

Bathiva opened his chase account with a fifth-place finish in mid-February at Ludlow. He looks reliable enough in terms of ability to go on a little further in his career, does the six-year-old. There was a mistake on his Ludlow show but that will serve as a learning curve for him. He was holding ground well in hurdle races. Can he kick on?

This Breac

The Breac can boast a recent win as he delivered at Leicester on a 2m chase trip in mid-February. That gives him excellent claims as he heads to Taunton. He was fourth in a Wincanton contest on a longer trip after going up in the rating.

He did struggle a bit to handle the weight and the longer trip, although he’s had plenty of chase experience up to 3m. He’s up 5lb from his Leicester win and the cut in trip may well pull him back into the picture at 11/2* (betting odds taken from Boylesports at 23:18 GMT on Monday, 16th March 2020).

Worthy mentions

Peterborough, trained by Evan Williams has been lightly raced and was a faller over course and distance last time out. That was just earlier this month. He has struggled to make an impression anyway over hurdles or in chases.

Metatrons Cube has an awesome name, not so awesome form. Making his chase debut and unless some miracle of form happens from him, he’s unlikely to improve greatly from consistently poor showings on the flat and over the hurdles.

Babytaggle is still looking to break his maiden after twenty attempts. That tells a big story. He’s had 12 chase contests and after a fourth at Lingfield On his last trip in early January, he came back to action for the first time after wind surgery.

Predictions & Tips

We are struggling to put the pieces together for the market leaders and therefore we are going to slide down the market to This Breac. The shorter trip may fall right into his wheelhouse after winning at 2m recently.

There is the extra 5lb he’s handling opposed to on that win, but this isn’t staggeringly high quality he’s up against. Hollywood Ken goes on a fair mark that could see him contend on his chase debut.
