INDIAN SOUNDS heads the field for Race 3 of Sunday’s action at Thirsk from a current 11/4 mark* (betting odds taken from William Hill at 02:36 GMT on Saturday, 1st August 2020). He is a threat in this field as he is sitting on a hat trick.

That’s two wins from six efforts in 2020 so he is in great shape. That last win was just under a month ago at Bath.

Will he be able to push things on now from a mark of 8lb up in the rating? He looks to still be progressing very well.

A good second place at Ripon on his last effort, brings WATCHABLE into the picture. That was from a field of 11 under handicap terms on a 6f trip.

The race was only three days ago however, so it’s a quick turnaround. Watchable does claim 5lb for his jockey.

There was a second place finish from last time out and he is a course and distance winner. It’s been seventeen runs since his last win, however.

Intrinsic Bond got the win in an 8-runner handicap at Doncaster. He needs to be respected in this contest after two wins from four runs this season.

That was a career best effort from him last time out and he has a decent chance of following up.

MUSCIKA is another who scored a win on his last run. That was a couple of weeks ago in a big 12-horse field at York over this 6f distance.

Something else that Musckia has on his side is that he is a three-time course and distance winner.

ABATE has every chance of finding himself in the frame as well having scored twice in his last four.

It’s going to be a crowded sprint in this handicap. LADY NECTAR is at the head of the market for the race at 6/1 odds* (betting odds taken from William Hill at 02:36 GMT on Saturday, 1st August 2020). She comes back to action on the back of a win.

She goes up 7lb now for her recent improvements and is suddenly running in terrific form.

The question is, is there even more to come from her in this big field? On paper she can’t be counted out of getting into the frame.

BURTONWOOD looks to be a big threat in this field as well, looking like one of the main contenders. He scored on his return to action and then continued with some solid form by scoring on his last effort.

That was 16 days ago on a trip at Beverley when he rattled the crossbar to finish as runner up.

Burtonwood is a previous course and distance winner to boot so he brings very solid claims from 17/2* (betting odds taken from William Hill at 02:36 GMT on Saturday, 1st August 2020).

The other horse that we will pick out as having a bit of form behind her is MORETTI. She won over a 7f trip in July and then she followed that up with a 5th place finish from a field of 16 at Redcar.

There will be no issues about her being sharp enough at the 6f trip and has leading claims.

There’s only a small field to pick through for this Conditions Stakes fixture. The market leader is OSTILIO at 15/8* (betting odds taken from William Hill at 02:36 GMT on Saturday, 1st August 2020).

On his recent return to action last month he claimed second place at Haydock. That was a 7f trip in a minor event. He won three times as a 3 year old and was lightly raced as a 4 year old.

But that recent return to form was a nice step forward for him and it should point to there being more to come from him. If he is on top of his game then he is likely to get close here.

QAYSAR scored a win on his last effort. That was a very impressive success as well at Haydock.

That really shook off some indifferent form he had put down in his previous two races for the campaign.

He found a lot of power to romp home at Haydock over a mile. Based on that he should be a contender.

PRINCE EIJI is coming back down in trip now after a fourth place finish in a Listed race three weeks ago at Newbury.

That continued some promising form from him, but he hasn’t been able to quite step it forward to get those scores on the board. Reliable, but perhaps not sharp enough.

DREAM CASTLE brings up the field here, who gets the cheek pieces back on. Last year he scored a hattrick, culminating in a Group 1 win at Meydan.

He was behind Prince Eiji in his last run at Newbury, but shaped well. Needs a lot more currently.

He has been steadily getting better and better since returning to action.

His upward swing in form culminated in a winning at Yarmouth handicap with plenty to spare last month.

The price for that is an extra 13lb in the rating, but considering how easily he won last time out, he’s still a reasonable fit for another score.

GREENGAGE is 1lb down on her last winning mark and looks to be a strong contender in this field. She has been producing steady form with the promise of more to come.

She collected 4th of 14 in a Catterick handicap in July. It was a credible enough effort despite being held up. Her mark should make her a threat in this wide open contest.

Some form is clearly there for MONSARAZ which makes him a decent contender in the field. He scored a career best in win Pontefract handicap just over a week ago, handling himself in a field of 12.

That is two wins in his last four runs and looks suitably competitive to make a challenge here.
