This is a competitive field with all of the runners bringing some hot form to the table. Nicky Henderson’s JONBON is unbeaten and brings bold claims.

He stepped into his hurdles debut three weeks ago on his reappearance. He looked superb in landing that win at Newbury.

The jumping form was sublime by Jonbon in that win, and with any kind of repeat performance then he should be there.

KNAPPERS HILL has won all five of his starts, the most recent of which was at Wincanton six weeks ago.

He has won at Grade 2 before, landing a bumper at Aintree last term. Knappers Hill may not have shown the jumping ability of Jonbon, but he rates a danger.

I LIKE TO MOVE IT poses a threat as well. He has pushed his game forward this season with three wins from three since his reappearance.

A couple of those were at Cheltenham. He gives weight to everyone else in the field but warrants respect.

ELLE EST BELLE can prove herself against the opposite sex in this one.

There was a very impressive win over the hurdles in a listed event at Newbury three weeks ago by her. She can make her presence felt.

COLONEL MUSTARD got himself off the mark at Galway on his return to action 55 days ago. He’s looked like a useful hurdler but is going to need a career-best to get himself in this one.

Tip: ELLE EST BELLE 6/1

Ones to watch: Bonbon 8/13, Knappers Hill 9/2

BRAVE SEASCA picked up a win just eight days ago and will come quickly back into action under a 7lb penalty on Friday.

There was some good progress made by him following a poor reappearance effort for the season.

That win happened at Warwick and Brave Seasca should have obvious claims for this one.

THYME WHITE could have enough to make his presence felt.

That is after a good second-place finish at Wincanton on his chasing debut a month ago. He was knocking around some top 2m handicaps last season.

KARL PHILIPPE was second on his reappearance.

That was a pleasing effort from him as his form dipped at the end of the previous campaign. So he could be warming up to something.

The final one to consider for the shortlist is RED ROOKIE who produced a ton of progress to rattle the crossbar at Chepstow on his return.

That was 44 days ago on his chasing debut. There’s a fair chance that Red Rookie can find more.

Tip: RED ROOKIE 15/8

Ones to watch: Thyme White 7/1, Karl Philippe 7/1

PIC D’ORHY was a faller on his latest effort. That was at Newbury in a Grade 2 contest three weeks ago.

Had he not departed early then the victory looked well within his range in that one. Pic D’Orhy comfortably opened the season with a victory at Ffos Las.

He bounced back and will make his presence felt in this competitive chase.

FAIVOIR should be in the picture. He has won two of three runs this season and one of those was over course and distance.

Faivoir was a good hurdler and seems to progress just as well over the fences now so he could be a player.

GLADIATEUR ALLEN is another that should be heavily involved. He opened his chasing account at the first time of asking.

That was in an Exeter novice two weeks ago.

That was a much-improved showing by him compared to what he had previously done over the hurdles.

Tip: FAVIOIR 2/1

Ones to watch: Pick D’Orhy Evens, Gladiateur Allen 11/2

UZINCSO should feature strongly in this one at Kempton as he takes a drop in grade. He is a former course and distance winner.

Uzincso knows his way around Kempton having won six of ten previous course and distance efforts.

He was at C&D 18 days ago taking a credible third. He is a big player.

IMPERIAL COMMAND is another that went well last time out. He has a good all-weather performance and can get himself involved.

Two weeks ago he went close in a Newcastle handicap and should be there again.

EAGLEWAY was second on his latest effort at Southwell just a week ago.

He’s turned out quickly and could be shaping up nicely for even more progress. He retains the cheek pieces and is not counted out.

Tip: UZINCSO 13/8

Ones to watch: Imperial Command 9/4, Eagleway 11/4

FRENCH DU LARGE started to find his form at the end of the previous campaign, finally getting off the mark over the hurdles.

He stepped into a chasing debut on his reappearance run 39 days ago.

He didn’t complete as he lost his rider on the way around.

But there were signs of encouragement and Frenchy Du Large looks built for competitive action in this sphere.

THE DUBAI WAY has gone well from before. He returns to action after a break of 301 days.

During that long absence, The Dubai Way has switched stables. There may be enough there for him to challenge for the places as he looks to get back on track.

KEEP ROLLING should be better for his recent reappearance at Bangor.

He showed some promising form over the hurdles last season, notably rattling the crossbar at Chepstow in February. He could pose a threat.

DO IT FOR THY SEN has found some cracking form this year. He claimed back to back wins at Southwell and then after a short break reappeared at Bangor 37 days ago.

Do It For Thy Sen looked like he needed that under his belt and he rates as a big danger.

Tip: DO IT FOR THY SEN 6/1

Ones to watch: French Du Large 2/1, Keep Rolling 15/2

We close out today’s horse racing tips with a look at a wide-open handicap hurdle from Uttoxeter.

The first for the shortlist in this is HURRICANE DYLAN.

He should be on a workable mark and the drop back in trip could also put him in the picture.

There was a more credible effort from Hurricane Dylan on his latest.

WAVERING DOWN should have a chance in this one. This is a new trip for him, so that’s the only question mark really.

He picked up a handicap win at Chepstow to close out last season and showed plenty of encouragement on his reappearance in October.

KENYAN COWBOY landed a win on his penultimate run. He found some vastly improved form to get that Chepstow handicap under his belt.

His follow up wasn’t great but he looks as if he could have enough to get in the frame.

PRESENTEDWITHWINGS gets on the shortlist as he took a good second place here on his latest effort a month ago.

That was on a slightly shorter trip and so the extra couple of furlongs may get him close.

BARRAKHOV is the final one that we consider for the shortlist.

He is 2lb down now as he has the first go for a new yard. There were hints from his form last season that he could get in this.

Tip: WAVERING DOWN 6/1

Ones to watch: Kenyan Cowboy 8/1, Hurricane Dylan 10/1
