We look for our first horse racing tip of the day from this small field at Goodwood.

The clear market leader is ALPINISTA at 8/13* (betting odds recorded 20:28 GMT April 29th 2021 at Paddy Power).

This looks like a relatively straight forward selection. The lightly-raced filly put in a couple of excellent runs at the end of last season.

After winning at Salisbury to get off the market, she was second at Newmarket, 11 lengths clear of KATARA.

Alpinista was also second in the Group 1 Yorkshire Oaks and she looks to be the one to beat.

The aforementioned KATARA looks the one most likely to challenge again, but turning the tables on that rival doesn’t appear a simple task.

This is another of Friday’s fixtures with a big favourite at the head of the market. That is NELSON GAY. We are going to take a chance elsewhere.

That will be on PEERLESS at 11/4* (betting odds recorded 20:28 GMT April 29th 2021 at Paddy Power).

He is a sprinter on the up and perhaps worth a look with Nelson Gay getting slapped with a 6lb rise.

There was a winning start to the new campaign for Peerless following a comfortable win at Nottingham a couple of weeks ago.

He goes up 7lb but still recipes a lot of weight from the favourite, so Peerless just gets the nod.

This is a tough field to split. We are just going to go with Mark Johnston’s HEADINGLY for the win at 9/4* (betting odds recorded 20:28 GMT April 29th 2021 at Paddy Power).

He is just a no-nonsense type who will get his head down and go. Some good positive tactics should help push him along even further.

He should go well at Goodwood one assumes and he will be looking to secure a double. He was last seen taking an easy win at Redcar recently.

The temperament he has to just to focus and go could get him there. TAWFEEQ is a huge threat in this one as his improving and recent form has been franked as well.

There should also be further improvement to come from FREAK OUT after a second at Redcar 18 days ago, just getting touched off.

We are back with another small field for a horse racing tip today. All three runners have a reasonable chance in this one.

A couple of weeks ago he made his reappearance from 6 months off. He looked as if he really needed that run, so he should strip fitter.

The 6-year-old has been competitive off this market before. That was notably back in September when he took a second-place finish at Ayr.

Last season Glasses Up won his second run of the season after an uninspiring reappearance. He could do the same again.

Today’s Horse Racing Tip

HONEYSUCKLE is the 8/11 favourite for this contest* (betting odds recorded 20:28 GMT April 29th 2021 at Paddy Power).

She just looks so hard to beat. Henry de Bromhead’s mare is on an eleven run unbeaten streak now.

The latest of those was in the Grade 1 Champion Hurdle at Cheltenham.

That was the 7th Grade 1 victory over her 11 wins. Honeysuckle took that win by six and a half lengths from Sharjah.

So now she has proven that she is effective at the 2m trip, it’s hard to see anyone tripping her up on the weekend.

Honeysuckle is a ridiculous classy act and she had others from this field, along with Sharjah behind her at Prestbury Park. She will take all the beating.

The biggest players for the places are likely to be SHARJAH and ABRACADABRAS, the latter not to be written off after a mishap at the Cheltenham Festival.

There are a few ways we could go in this one. Coming in for his handicap is SOLAR SCREEN and he looks as if he could be a big threat.

On his appearance this season, which was at Kempton, he produced a very credible fourth-place finish.

The Richard Hughes gelding looks as if he could benefit from the drop in trip and we think that puts him in the frame.

The blinkers that he had on for the 2m Kempton run, are left off for this one. The son of Frankel should give a good account of himself.

This is a bigger field that we are going to look through and CHICHESTER gets the nod at 4/1* (betting odds recorded 20:28 GMT April 29th 2021 at Paddy Power).

He picked up a win on his debut for his new year and with more on the trip in this one, he should do even better.

Chichester will be dealing with a 9lb rise after his latest effort.

There was plenty of evidence in that victory here at Newcastle, that a wind op during the break has done him the world of good.

That Newcastle victory came with plenty to spare, Chichester easing home by more than four lengths ahead of anyone else.

The other main players who are likely to be in this are course and distance winner LIVE YOUR DREAM and ANYTHING TODAY who is likely to enjoy a return to the venue.
