Today’s Horse Racing Tip

ARMORY genuinely looks like the one to beat in the Huxley Stakes on Friday at Chester. He is the current 6/5 favourite* (betting odds recorded 21:58 GMT on May 6th 2021 at Betway).

He defied massive 66/1 odds to claim a third-place finish in the Group 1 Irish Champion Stakes last year.

That didn’t look like a one-off fluke for Aiden O’Brien’s colt either because he followed it up with a runner up spot at the Cox Plate.

On his reappearance run, refreshed and more mature, there has to be more to come from the four-year-old. It will be great to see him continue on a sharp trajectory.

The big threat in the field is Sir Micahel Stoute’s SANGARIUS who claimed a Listed win at Lingfield in December to end the year in style.

That was just the second run since a fantastic win at Royal Ascot in 2019.

Today’s Horse Racing Tip

This looks like being a decent contest. A wide-open one at that. There are just claims all over the place from this field.

HOCHFELD looks like a good threat coming into a longer trip. NOT SO SLEEPY looks a strong contender but doesn’t have a great draw.

We just fancy the 12/1 each-way shot on WHO DARES WINS in the Chester Cup as our horse racing tip* (betting odds recorded 21:58 GMT on May 6th 2021 at Betway).

Part of the reason for that is that he has placed twice in this fixture and with a handy draw on his side, he looks to have the potential for this renewal.

Who Dares Wins picked up the title at the Queen Alexandra at Royal Ascot last summer as well for trainer Alan King. We think that he will get himself firmly in this one on Friday.

Today’s Horse Racing Tip

The improving ALDAARY looks to be the one to beat at 5/4* (betting odds recorded 21:58 GMT on May 6th 2021 at Betway). He makes it as our racing tip.

This will be the seasonal reappearance for Aldaary and during the break, he has undergone wind surgery which could have picked him up further.

The last time that he ran was in October, making it two wins from two as a juvenile with victories at Yarmouth and Leicester.

He comes into handicapping for the first time and he looks to be very well treated, giving him a big chance for Willie Haggas.

The principal threats to his challenge look like being STYLISH PERFORMER and KING ZAIN who could go well following a reappearance.

Today’s Horse Racing Tip

We have a big field for this short sprint at Ascot on Friday.

It’s not an exciting pick, but JONAH JONES warrants respect at 7/2* (betting odds recorded 21:58 GMT on May 6th 2021 at Betway).

He had a good reappearance with a runners up finish at Kempton and has William Buick booked for this handicap.

Jonah Jones is a good sprinter and came close to a course and distance score in September.

FRESH has also had a narrow miss over course and distance and he may be able to enter the fray from a bigger-value 7/1 quote* (betting odds recorded 21:58 GMT on May 6th 2021 at Betway). Fresh also has the tongue strap on for the first time.

We also can’t totally count out the former course and distance winner EQUITATION at this kind of mark.

That C&D in 2019 was from 5lb higher and with a good run under his belt at Newmarket three weeks ago, could have something to offer.

We should have a tight scrap in this contest between former winner RESTORER, FOX TAL and ALTERNATIVE FACT.

They aren’t that easy to split at all and even LAWN RANGER may not be too far away from being in the thick of things.

We are going to side with FOX TAIL at 9/2 as a horse racing tip* (betting odds recorded 21:58 GMT on May 6th 2021 at Betway).

He has been eased a long way in grade, having run at Group 3 in his final two starts last year.

So this isn’t quite as competitive and we can also look back to a fourth-place finish in the Champion Stakes for his ability.

This is the handicap debut as well for Fox Tal, who does come in high, but the hood goes on for the first time for Andrew Balding’s five year old.

It wasn’t the greatest of the seasons last time for him, but a gelding op during his break could be a difference-maker.

Today’s Horse Racing Tip

Rounding things off as sour final horse racing tip of the day is ELYSIAN FLAME at 3/1* (betting odds recorded 21:58 GMT on May 6th 2021 at Betway).

He is coming back up in a trip after scoring at Newbury over 2m three weeks ago. It’s only a 3lb penalty that he is under and he should handle that.

This trip is more in his wheelhouse, so should be able to impress. Elysian Flame will retain the cheekpieces that helped him score at Newbury.

He is a pretty useful stayer and that score at Newbury, it is just worth mentioning, was at a 25/1 SP.

Other big players in the field look like being Irish raider GRANDMASTER FLASH and POSTILEO.
