The race favourite for this trip is UNOHU at 6/4* (betting odds taken from William Hill at 23:37 GMT on Sunday, 13th December 2020).

It’s been a fine showing from him this season and is an interesting player coming into handicapping.

After a second place finish on his reappearance run, Unohu followed up with a score.

That was a 2m maiden here at Ayr last month.

It was also in pretty heavy conditions as well, so the conditions are on his side. He should be able to see out the longer trip.

UK Racing Odds & Tips

RIO QUINTO should definitely be a player in his field if he is nice and sharp on his return.

The last time that he was in action was in April last year when he took on a chase at Market Rasen.

That was a second place finish in that one. The switch back to hurdles we think means he needs to be respected.

There are a few in this line up to watch in the market. One of them is KALAHARRY who did win here over 3m earlier this year.

He followed up with three straight place finishes as well. Kalaharry will be making a return after nine months, and place claims look to be there.

We have BENEVOLENTDICTATOR heading up the market here at 5/4* (betting odds taken from William Hill at 23:37 GMT on Sunday, 13th December 2020).

He is one to note after picking up a win on his reappearance run last month.

That was in a Lingfield handicap and looked to really adjust to the fences very well on his switch.

There has been a 6lb rise in the ratings to deal with.

But the extra trip should still be within his reach and Benevolentdictator has to be one for the shortlist.

UK Racing Odds & Tips

DON LAMI may be worth revisiting. He didn’t look quite right on his reappearance run, as he pulled up at Ludlow.

Don Lami had the tongue strap on for the first time in that one, which he retains. He also gets blinkers for the first time.

He signed off last term with a Taunton win on his chasing debut.

Don Lami retains potential and is worth a look at 7/2* (betting odds taken from William Hill at 23:37 GMT on Sunday, 13th December 2020).

GARRANE does appear to be on a workable mark for this contest. He is still looking to break his maiden in this sphere.

But he is well experienced and has put together a couple of good runs already for this campaign. We feel that place claims are there.

He should be considered for the fixture after having had a couple of runs already this campaign.

He was over course and distance twice at the end of last season and went close in both.

Legal Ok was a little below par over the fences at Lingfield earlier this month. That was on his second run of the season.

The switch back to the hurdles could get him going again.

PENNY POET piques some interest on her return to action. She missed the entirety of the previous campaign.

She steps into handicapping for the first time in this sphere and has the cheekpieces on for the first time as well.

Penny Poet could be worth chancing off a nice mark.

DARKEST DAY is another of interest in this wide-open contest. Back in February he was over course and distance and took third place.

He was 10lb higher then than he will be for Tuesday.

The handicapper has responded to two poor efforts this season and so we think Darkest Day is in a place to be far more competitive at 7/2* (betting odds taken from William Hill at 23:37 GMT on Sunday, 13th December 2020)..

GLITTERING LOVE heads up the market currently at 13/8 for this handicap chase at Ayr* (betting odds taken from William Hill at 23:37 GMT on Sunday, 13th December 2020).

It’s hard to ignore the fact that he’s won three course and distance efforts before.

He returned to action about a month ago when he was back here at Ayr. That produced a very credible third place finish over course and distance.

So he likes the track and the trip and he stays at the same mark he was at for his reappearance. Definitely a player.

BUDDHA SCHEME gets the nod from us at 7/2* (betting odds taken from William Hill at 23:37 GMT on Sunday, 13th December 2020).

He is a fantastic stayer and the conditions will be on his side as well. So we think that he has to get in the frame.

With back to back runners up finishes at Hexham under his belt this season we are going with him.

The other player for the shortlist is UP HELLY AA KING. He opened this season with a win here back in october.

He then went to Carlisle to tackle this distance and put in a decent run to claim fourth place there as well.

Up Helly Aa King does have work to do because of the handicapping, but place claims should be there.

He collected a fine win to open the new season with. That score happened here at Plumpton a couple of months ago.

That is back to back wins for him and those have been at the venue, the first happening at distance as well.

So he is going for a hat trick and looks to be in very good shape to get close to pulling that off. There’s excellent form despite being a total of 11lb up.

KRUJERS GIRL looks to be a decent one to watch to potentially oppose the favourite with.

Last month she picked up a fourth palace finish in an effort at Leicester. There should be further improvement to come from that fences debut.

The final selection from this big field is GENTLEMAN’S DREAM because of the extra trip that he is taking on.

He was fifth at Hereford just under three weeks ago on his reappearance run. That was the first run in 45 months. Would be entitled to improve from that sharpener.

Consistency is a big factor in him pulling in some appeal for this run.

He was in a handicap here just nine days ago and was a credible third.

After back to back wins earlier this season, Culture has followed up with three place finishes.

We would fully expect him to be there or thereabouts as this isn’t the strongest field.

CENTRAL CITY may have a say in this as well. He scored on his penultimate run which we think should just keep him in the picture.

Central City is a course and distance, but five days ago he showed up at Kempton and ran a stinker. He would need to shake that off.

TWPSYN actually has the most appeal of all for us at 5/1* (betting odds taken from William Hill at 23:37 GMT on Sunday, 13th December 2020).

He scored on his penultimate run as well and is a former course and distance winner. Twpsyn went well on a shorter trip 26 days ago before finding the pace too much at the end. The extra tip helps massively.
