This is a wide-open contest with current favourite HART STOPPER expected to be right about there.

But slight preference is for PRAXEOLOGY at 10/3* (betting odds recorded 20:56 GMT on May 16th 2021 at Paddy Power).

On his penultimate run, he picked up a win at Southwell in April. There was a decent follow up to that as Praxeology claimed a fifth place in a big handicap field of 14 at Chester.

He does carry a 3lb claimer to help out as he comes back down in trip. There should be a good chance for him in this even fixture.

The others to watch in the field are HOSTELRY and LATIN FIVE, the latter surely fallen down to a very workable mark.

We can’t look past 5/2 shot HUNDRED ISLES in this one* (betting odds recorded 20:56 GMT on May 16th 2021 at Paddy Power).

The progressive gelding is much fancied to take another big step forward.

Hundred Isles will be looking for a hattrick on Monday after scoring a career-best effort at Nottingham a month ago. That was on just his second attempt on the turf.

There’s a lot to like about him as he is still lightly raced. Hundred Isles comes up 2lb for this latest effort.

The others to rate for the fixture are JUMP THE GUN and YOHSIMI who are up 3lb for a recent win at Musselburgh.

We are going to be all about HOLLY JAMES for this contest as he looks to be running himself into a nice bit of form for Evan Williams.

This is a good open field, so he is well in with a chance. Holly James was last seen 11 days ago taking a third-place finish at Worcester on a 2m 4 trip.

The extra bit of distance here could help him out. He is sitting now on the kind of mark where he looks as if he could thrive.

Last week he entered having scored. He will be running under a 7lb penalty on Monday having made the most of falling down the weights to score over course and distance.

So we think that he gets back in the picture. The big threat to him is Evan Williams’ MARBLE MOON who also scored last week and is under a 7lb penalty.

That was by a margin of 8 lengths. But Tudor’s Treasure does receive weight from that particular rival. It should be a good showdown between the two at Ffos Las.

LITTLE BOY BLUE certainly looks to be a big contender in this field. He picked up a win on his reappearance six months ago, delivering at Ascot against a couple of these rivals.

We think is a better call on GLOBAL ESTEEM who found only Little Boy Blue too good for him in that Ascot effort over this distance nine days ago.

But we think that despite being 2lb worse off for this effort in the ratings, he shaped as if he had more to offer.

We would be willing to take a chance of POWER OVER ME turning his impressive all-weather form over to the turf.

He has won five of his last six races and was better than ever last time out. That was in a score at Wolverhampton 58 days ago.

Power Over Me moves on up now 6lb and has to pose a threat in this one on the turf. Can he get the better of APLOMB?

The latter picked up a second place at Newbury on Friday on what was his first effort for a new yard.

Aplomb looked to be shaping very well in that with the promise of more. But this is a quick turnaround so we just swing towards Power Over Me.
