POWERSTOWN PARK didn’t get things right on his latest run as he was pulled up in the Lincolnshire National.

Excuses may be there because that may well have been too big of an ask of stamina for him.

Before that, he won at course and distance on his penultimate so Powerstown Park has to be respected.

OSCAR ROBERTSON failed to complete last time out as well as he was pulled up at Doncaster.

Previous to that he had found his winning touch in a chase at Whitby in November.

Oscar Robertson is not the most reliable but should have a chance in this small field.

KAUTO THE KING looks the most likely to get in amongst it from the rest of the runners.

A 3m trip at Kempton over Christmas looked too big of a test of stamina for him. This is easier though with much firmer ground to play with.

Tip: POWERSTOWN PARK 2/1

Ones to watch: Oscar Robertson 2/1, Kauto The King 3/1

PRINCE ESCALUS was last seen taking a runner-up finish at Wetherby in October. That was a handicap action.

To be fair he was only just touched off in what was his second attempt over the fences, so he’s unexposed with potentially more to come.

MONSIEUR LECOQ gets the blinkers on for the first time as connections look to sharpen him up a bit.

He had a very good chase effort at Ascot in October which shows what he’s capable of. Monsieur Lecoq’s form has dipped since then, but the headgear may help.

ERITAGE could find the going a little bit tougher coming down on trip here.

He was well held on his reappearance at Newbury in November.

On his follow up he was pushed up 21f and looked to be much better for the longer trip, so it’s a little strange he has had distance taken off for this one.

Tip: PRINCE ESCALUS Even Money

Ones to watch: Heritage 9/4, Monsieur Lecoq 11/4

REPRESENTING BOB Has won three of his last four efforts, so another bold run will be expected while he is thriving.

The latest of those scores was at Catterick last month and he has received a hefty 9lb rise because of it.

That means he moves up in class but is bottom weight on Monday.

But that’s three from three over the fences for Representing Bob who shouldn’t be far away once again.

LAVORANTE steps into his chase debut for Gary Moore and the progress has been good enough to see him switch to the fences quite quickly.

Lavorante was fourth on his handicap debut 12 days ago, a good effort here at Plumpton, so there could be more to come.

ROSE OF AGHABOE was second at course and distance just 41 days ago and she has to rate it as a danger.

There were three wins earned by her around the 3m trip last season and that latest effort show a potential return to form. Claims are there for a follow-up.

Tip: ROSE OF AGHABOE 4/1

Ones to watch: Representing Bon 6/4, Lavorante 4/1

Declared Runners: 14
Distance: 1m 7 1/2f

HEY BOB should go on the shortlist as he has been thriving recently.

There was a course and distance win for him at course and distance last month as he was fully dialled in with his attitude there.

SYSTEMIC is still looking to get off the mark, but he gets thrown into a handicap hurdle for the first time.

Novice hurdle efforts didn’t prove to be very fruitful for him, but the cheekpieces go on and the handicapping could liven him up.

GLOBAL WONDER was beaten by Hey Bob last month at course and distance.

But he should have a chance of turning the tables on that rival because it was just a lack of positioning that hampered him at C&D. He looks like he can put together a bold run.

Tip: GLOBAL WONDER 3/1

Ones to watch: Hey Bob 3/1, Systemic 9/2

BASS STRAIT is a current outsider in this small field, but she has to be worth a look as she gets the visor for the first time.

He was sixth of nine at the course and distance, but it was a good effort despite the low final position 9 days ago.

Bass Strait had been left in a poor position. A smaller field with more room to work in could see her threaten.

RETICENT picked up a win at Lingfield on her last trip, over a couple of furlongs shorter in a maiden.

Form from that has been franked with the runner-up has since gone on to win. This is the handicap debut for Reticent and there’s more to come

MASHKUUR was a runner up at Lingfield in a small; 5-runner field three weeks ago.

That effort came with the visor added for the first time. This is a longer trip and a tapestry debut for him.

ACHNAMARA was behind a second-placed Mashkuur earlier this season. But he just didn’t have any luck in the race getting badly hampered. He still has a lot more in him.

Tip: BASS STRAIT 8/1

Ones to watch: Reticent 6/4, Achnamara 6/4

ABNAA brings winning form to processing and is a former course and distance winner to boot.

He was last seen 10 days ago claiming a score at Newcastle, really having been bolstered with the application of the blinkers for the first time.

LEDNIKOV may be worth considering for this one as he makes a return for the first time for about five months.

He has changed yard and also steps into his handicap debut.

There were some encouraging signs from him last season and each-way claims could be reasonable.

THAPA VC looks the clear one to beat in this contest after scoring at the course and distance three weeks ago.

He kicked on when more was asked for him, so clearly has a good attitude. There has been a 1lb rise for Thapa VC and looks like he can handle stiffer challenges.

Tip: THAPA VC 2/1

Ones to watch: Lednikov 10/1 e/w, Abnaa 6/1
