This is a great fixture to kick off today’s racing tips. There are few here who are arriving in top form, so this should be a super-competitive run.

TACTICAL certainly should be one of the front runners here. He is back in action after picking up a win in the Free Handicap on his reappearance.

However, we think that the distance is just going to play to the strengths of the main rival CREATIVE FORCE a little more.

Today’s Horse Racing Tip

FANCY MAN is likely to be a player here. He is back down on a trip after finding 1m 4f too much for him at Chester last week.

But that’s a quick turnaround for him, so preference is for the well-bred JOHN LEEPER at 11/8* (betting odds recorded 23:12 GMT on 14th May 2021 at William Hill).

He kicked off life as a 3-year-old with a victory at Newcastle, just his second racetrack appearance. He powered clear in that contest which was at this same distance a couple of weeks ago.

John Leeper looks as if he can handle the extra quality coming up to a higher level. Another who is going in the right direction is FLYIN’ HIGH who has won both efforts as a three-year-old.

Today’s Horse Racing Tip

This is one of the highlights of the day and it is AL AASY who is the even-money favourite* (betting odds recorded 23:12 GMT on 14th May 2021 at William Hill).

This is the Aston Park Stakes and Willie Haggas’ charge Al Aasy can’t be ignored here. Just a month ago he was in ripe form, scoring at course and distance with some ease in the John Porter Stakes.

But while he reads well, there is a stronger challenge we feel, being presented by the 2019 St Leger hero LOGICIAN.

He will be looking to bounce back from the first defeat of his career, suffered in the Cumberland Lodge last Autumn. But that was at the end of a season in which illness took him over.

Logician is back refreshed after 7 months away from the action. It wouldn’t be a huge surprise to see him back at Group 1 at some point this season.

There is BELLOSA at the head of the market for the King Charles II Stakes. The 7/4 favourite will be making just here second racetrack appearance* (betting odds recorded 23:12 GMT on 14th May 2021 at William Hill).

The hype and support are there after she won by seven lengths over course and distance on her debut. She looks like such a good prospect.

But we are going instead with CLOUDRIDGE at 9/2* (betting odds recorded 23:12 GMT on 14th May 2021 at William Hill).

He was only just edged out in a Group 3 effort at the Sirenia Stakes on his latest run. That was on his final run as a juvenile so is likely to back even stronger.

So we are happy to swing things his way.

Another who is likely to really get themselves in the mix in this one is DEVILWALA who has lowered his sights, is coming down in trip and has the blinkers on for the first time.

This is another of the day’s top races from Newbury on Saturday. This looks to be all about PALACE PIER who looks so impressive.

He easily won at Sandown on his reappearance which keeps him right in the frame for this. Palace Pier is just a top-class miler.

As a three-year-old, he took a couple of Group 1 wins. Those were at the St James’s Palace and Prix Jacques Le Marois.

That was a Group 2 win at Sandown which he took on his reappearance, and that will only have sharpened him up more.

It’s hard to find a strong reason to go against the 8/13 favourite* (betting odds recorded 23:12 GMT on 14th May 2021 at William Hill).

The key contenders for the places in this one then look like being MY OBERON who has a very high ceiling of potential and LOPE Y FERNANDEZ.

They both picked up wins on their respective reappearances and should both have strong campaigns.
