Today’s horse racing tips feature some of the leading action that is booked at Sandown including the Grade 1 Celebration Chase.
There’s a small field for the renewal of that one, but it’s a cracking line-up, regardless.
Along with some picks from the hot Sandown action on Saturday, we also visit Leicester and Haydock for further selections.
It’s a wonderful day of racing, so here are our best betting tips for Saturday, 23rd April 2022.

MISTER FISHER should find himself heavily involved in this action as he is a high-class chaser.
There was a win for him at Kempton earlier this year in the Sivlinano Conti Chase.
Mister Fisher has only completed half of his four runs this season.
His jumping badly let him down at Aintree a couple of weeks ago in the Melling Chase where he was pulled up. He can sweep this though.
SAINT CALVADOS did manage to complete the Melling Chase, taking a very credible fifth place in that one.
Based on that form, Saint Calvados should have a big chance on Saturday at Sandown. This is much calmer water than that last run.
NUTS WELL is no mug at all and he’s a good chaser. There was a win for him at Kelso on his penultimate run.
His jumping let him down at the Aintree Festival, but can easily bounce back.
ERNE RIVER has shown some good progressive form this season. He won his first three starts of the campaign, before taking a tumble at Aintree a couple of weeks ago.
Erne River is well worth his place in this fascinating Grade 2 but has a little too much on his plate.
Ones to watch: Mister Fisher, Nuts Well 4/1

SCARMANGA really took to handicapping over the hurdles supremely well last summer. There were a couple of wins posted by him.
One of those was at Sandown. The previous form reads well for Paul Nicholls’ charge, who should be competitive.
MCFABULOUS lowers his sights a little bit here at Aintree earlier this month in the Aintree Hurdle.
Mcfabulous was a well-beaten third in that race.
But it was good enough to hint at a potential revival, even though more effort at the end may be required this time around.
INDEFATIGABLE claimed a runner up spot in last year’s renewal of the Select Hurdle so warrants some respect.
There was a Grade 2 success for her last year at Wetherby.
In her last effort, Indefatigable was going very well in a Cheltenham Festival effort before falling two from home. She can’t be counted out.
FUSIL RAFFLES is a smart chaser and also has some claims in this fascinating line-up.
There was a victory for him earlier this season in the Charlie Hall at Wetherby.
His most recent run wasn’t the sharpest, but he’s back from a little rest so could burst back into form.
Ones to watch: Scaramanga 2/1, Mcfabulous 5/2

PATH OF THUNDER claimed a win earlier this year at Meydan. Connections will have been pleased with his latest effort.
That was a third at the same venue 49 days ago and should be a big player here.
ARATUS is seeking a four-timer and warrants some respect as he returns from a long absence.
Last season he won all three efforts, building on a win that he had earned at Kempton in his final run as a 2-year-old. Aratus is no forlorn hope here.
HAPPY POWER has a good track record behind him, having backed seven wins in the sphere.
He was last seen at Wolverhampton five weeks ago taking a runner up spot. That was in a Listed level race and was running on.
Ones to watch: Path Of Thunder 10/11, Aratus 5/2

BALDOMERO has come to life since switching yards for this season. Luck didn’t go his way at Lingfield on his latest.
But Baldomero’s form before that was good. He claimed a win on his second run of the campaign at Kempton on a longer trip than this.
KINGMANIA is interesting on a return from a long break. She was rapidly going up the ranking last summer.
Kingmania rattled off a hat trick in June last year, before failing to get the fourth-timer done at Newmarket.
But even in defeat, she put in a very good run in a strong race.
The time away from the track is a concern, but she can make her presence felt without question.
EXCEL POWER is an interesting one in this field as he returns from an absence since November.
There was an excellent season put together by Excel Power the last term, winning four times. That was on the first 1m trip too.
The unexposed Excel Power brings claims and went well early last season too after a break.
Ones to watch: Kingmania 10/3, Excel Power 7/1

ENRILO made some good progress over the fences last season and won last year’s renewal of this race.
That was from a position of 1lb lower.
He was in a competitive mood on his seasonal reappearance of a warm Ladbrokes Trophy, before being pulled up in a race that didn’t suit at Cheltenham.
Those lack of finishes were put to bed with a good fourth at Kempton 56 days ago.
Enrilo is unexposed at this distance but has a big work engine in him.
POTTERMAN warrants plenty of respect and arrives on the back for a victory at Kelso.
He’s been a little up and down with his jumping performances this season, but he’s more than capable of getting in the mix if that recent effort is a sign of a revival.
WIN BY WINGS loves a big test of stamina and has just been going from strength to strength.
Under a rise of 8lb, he laughed off that assessment by taking the Scottish national at Ayr three weeks ago.
With a victory in the Eider under her belt as well, Win My Wings is a proven performer.
The handicapper doesn’t like being laughed at and has given Win My Wings an extra 14lb this time.
MUSICAL SALVE is not without claims as well as he returns to action quickly after winning at Haydock a week ago.
That completed a double for his current form and he has started to get back to the top of his game.
If Musical Slave can unlock even more, he could get in this.
KITTY’S LIGHT has taken back to back runners-up finish, the most recent of those happening in the Scottish National.
He was smashed by his stablemate Wni My Wings at Ayr in the Scottish National but is 12lb better off against her, which has to count for plenty.
Ones to watch: Win My Wings 11/2, Potterman 11/1

GREATNETEEN is one the big players in this small, yet competitive renewal of the Celebration Chase.
He won last year’s renewal of the Celebration Chance and in December picked up a course and distance win in the Tingle Creek.
It’s hard to really argue with any of that form.
Greaneteen wasn’t at his best at Leopardstown on his latest but should go well back at a winning venue.
NUBE NEGRA is interesting here after taking a fourth-place finish in the Tingle Creek behind Greaneteen.
He looked as if he knew he was beaten early on in that one and lacked a bit of an effort.
Before that Nube Negra had torn it up in the Group 2 Shloer Chase.
SCEAU ROYAL looks to be the best of the rest to consider for the shortlist in this one.
The 10-year-old still has plenty of game and gave a superb account of himself in a narrow loss at the Game Spirit Chase at Newbury earlier this year.
The Melling Chase at Aintree on his latest run looked a tad beyond him at the end but should be right there on Saturday.
Ones to watch: Sceau Royal 7/2, Nube Negra 6/4
