Today’s Horse Racing Tip

This is a big strong field at Haydock on Saturday and one of the front runners is BIELSA.

He arrives looking for more after a good effort at York on his latest run, where he didn’t get a clear passage through traffic.

CAPOTE’S DREAM went well on a drop back to a 6f trip for Tom Ward and could still be a little bit ahead of the handicapper.

So there is plenty of interest in him getting the score. Capote’s Dream has won three of his last four runs.

But we are just going with COLD STARE as our 8/1 horse racing tip* (betting odds recorded 19:11 GMT on May 28th 2021 at Coral)..

He has produced back to back solid efforts, so there is a bit of form there.

Cold Stare is on familiar territory here as he won this race in 2019 and the conditions look as if they will be playing a part in another strong effort here.

His trainer David O’Meara has won the last two renewals of this race.

Today’s Horse Racing Tip

EL ASTRONAUTE has to be the way to go as a 4/1 horse racing tip in this contest* (betting odds recorded 19:11 GMT on May 28th 2021 at Coral).

He collected a win in this race a year ago when it was hosted at Doncaster. After a massively positive reappearance as well, he looks in good shape to defend.

That reappearance for El Astronaute was in a Chester conditions event three weeks ago.

In last year’ edition he got the better of King’s Lynn.

KING’S LYNN has a very good chance of getting in the frame again and is another that needs to be taken seriously in the contest. The conditions will help him.

ALJADY is another with some solid claims having taken a fifth place finish in the Palace House Stakes at Newmarket last time out.

He won four times last season, impressing in handicapping. He may be good enough to have a run at the moment.

CABALETTA clear rates as a threat in the Pinnacle Stakes and the blinkers go on for the first time for her on the weekend.

But we have a slight preference for ORIENTAL MYSTIQUE who made a good reappearance with third place finish in a listed event at Goodwood a month ago.

That offered a lot of promise that there could be bigger and better things to come from her as a four year old.

We are rolling with BAILEYS BREATHLESS as our 5/1 horse racing tip in this fillies’ handicap* (betting odds recorded 19:11 GMT on May 28th 2021 at Coral)

She commands plenty of respect in this contest and will be better for a recent third place finish on the all weather on her return at Lingfield in March.

Baileys Breathless likes to get to the front and set the pace and with her lining up in stall one she is going to have a big big chance.

Back in September she did go close over course and distance after having picked up a score at Wolverhampton.

There’s plenty to like about. CUBAN BREEZE could well be back in the thick of things after looking like form was back on his side in a Class 2 effort earlier this month.

The other to watch will be RUMAYTHAH who won on this trip at Ripon on her latest run. She does come down in class but gets a 3lb rise for her winning effort.

Today’s Horse Racing Tip

SAFE VOYAGE could be the pick for the John Of Gaunt stakes at Haydock on Saturday at 10/3* (betting odds recorded 19:11 GMT on May 28th 2021 at Coral).

He gets back to his favoured 7f trip after putting in a bit of a lifeless effort at the Lockinge on his return to action two weeks ago.

That can be scratched however, and this is a much easier contest. Last season he won a couple of Group 2 affairs, which can’t be ignored.

Safe Voyage is also course and distance winner and it wouldn’t be a big surprise to see him getting back on top of his game.

He won the Group 1 Prix de la Forest in similar conditions in 2020.

He enjoys a run at Haydock and everything just fits well for him in this contest.

The other obvious threats to him are GLORIOUS JOURNEY and the very interesting WITH THANKS who was going extremely well in the autumn.

Today’s horse racing tip for this one is BROKEN SPEAR at 10/1 because we think that conditions are going to be a great leveller* (betting odds recorded 19:11 GMT on May 28th 2021 at Coral).

There was a win for him at Chester in May. He couldn’t hit the same form on his follow up, so needs a bounce-back performance.

But he is a good mark to launch a good attack and he is helped out by a 5lb claimer as well.

With some of the key runners in this like SIBAAQ preferring firmer ground, Broken Spear could have a say.

As for SIBAAQ he looks very good from the bottom of the weights and he has won twice before over course and distance.

There was a nice reappearance for him in his new yard three weeks ago. He took a second place finish here at Chester in that.

So that offered some promise for Carlos Felix after not quite getting going under Dan Skelton last season over the hurdles.

He shaped as if he needs a longer trip and as he gets that on Saturday, he is our big selection for the victory.
