Today’s horse racing tips see the action cool down a bit after a great few days of action at York.
It’s much calmer waters for the day as we look at racing selections from Ripon and Stratford.

HOWDILYOUDO should pose a reasonable threat in this contest after going well over the hurdles last year.
There was a return to action for her at Ffos Las in April in which she took a third-place finish.
That’s a good warm-up for Howdilyoudo ahead of this switch to the fences.
ACHY BREAKY HEART was seventh on her return at Huntingdon 10 days ago and didn’t greatly impress.
But that was over the hurdles and she should be a bigger player over the fences.
Achy Breaky Heart scored a chase from 4lb lower in the autumn.
PRINCESS MIDNIGHT is not to be dismissed from this contest even though she enters from 2lb out of the weights.
There was a credible run on her return at Worcester a month ago in which she took third.
Princess Midnight landed a couple of wins over the fences last season and should be stronger for that reappearance

BENDALID was a runner up last time out on a run at Doncaster three weeks ago and stayed on pretty well.
The race wasn’t quite in his favour in that one.
Bendalid should be a big player on Sunday having won this race last year from 4lb higher too.
BIRARDALE could be a threat after having had a workout at Ayr three weeks ago having been away for eight months.
There was a course and distance vector for Briardale last year, one of three wins that he earned in 2021. He could be in this.
COPPER AND FIVE is another to watch in this contest as he comes up on a trip for Sunday.
He is a former course winner and did a solid enough job at Thirsk a couple of weeks ago.
He was right in it until a furlong from home so place claims are there.

SANDBECK scored a win on her reappearance at Nottingham in a handicap fixture last month.
She was well ahead of the rest of the field along with the runner up.
The 6lb rise looks fair enough based on that. That’s two wins in three runs by Sandbeck and she is on the up.
SELBY’S PRIDE ran wide last time out at Chester, which was just a strange effort all around.
This is calmer waters for her and a drop in class so she could get in the frame.
Selby’s Pride won a novice run here at Ripon last year.
MID WINSTER looks like a handy handicapper, despite claiming one victory for the entire 2021 calendar year.
She put in credible runs more often than not though. One of those was a very solid effort at the course and distance and warrants respect.

HAUNTED DREAM has been in cracking form this spring and opened his account with back to back wins.
Those were recorded at Beverley and Lingfield.
The hattrick wasn’t completed as he was a good runner up at Newmarket three days ago.
Haunted Dream will be tested by the quick turnaround, but not having been out of the top two in any of his last five, should be right there.
FRANZ is another big player in this one as the colt claimed a win on his debut in October at Haydock.
He returned after a break of six months to then take a runner up spot at Wolverhampton.
That was far from a controlled established run so there’s more to come.
ADJUVANT is respected in this contest as he tries to build on a third-place finish on his reappearance three weeks ago.
Adjuvant ran well in that one, taking a third at Doncaster.
As he is coming up on the trip, he could pull himself into the picture.

LAKOTA WARRIOR scored well at Doncaster in March, but his follow up wasn’t so great.
He made an early mistake at Perth in that follow up.
But he is probably worth another look, despite being 7lb higher than that novice win in March.
VERNON SUBUTEX lost his jockey on his latest run which was over the hurdles in France In March.
He’s a decent chaser and hurdles, so a good versatile one with about a 33% strike rate.
Vernon Subutex poses a threat with headgear on the first run for David Pipe.
TEMPLEHILLS is a course and distance winner, that happened on his penultimate run in October last year.
His last two wins since 2018 have been at Stratford.
Templehills isn’t the most reliable of jumpers, but that C&D win was by more than four lengths.

Things haven’t gone to plan for her on two runs since.
But she clearly has it in her and as Martha Brae drops in class and has form from fresh, she could pose a threat.
LILY GLITTERS is up 3lb after finding a winning touch at Ludlow just last month.
She was comfortable enough in landing that score that this rise is well within her scope. Lily Glitters looks a lively one.
CATCHMEIFYOUCAN should be helped out by the handicapper in this one after pulling up on her latest effort.
That was in December when nothing went right. Catchmeifyoucan did enjoy a good summer of 2021.
