QUINTA DO MAR looks like a big threat in this contest as he lowers his sights a bit. He was last seen in April at Cheltenham facing stronger opposition. That’s back to back convincing runs from him since scoring on a 2m trip over the hurdles at Ludlow in March.

ITSNOTYOUITSME likes to get to the front and challenge. He has been coming along well and picked up a win at Hexham in June to complete a double.

ONEHUNDREDPERCENT has gone well this season and is match fit. There was a victory for him on his reappearance at Sedgefield, followed by a second at Warwick on his handicap debut a month ago.

PRESENT CHIEF returned to action with a third-place finish on his chasing debut at Worcester a month ago. There was enough credit there to suggest more can come from him. Present Chief was a decent hurdler.

OSCAR MONTEL should rate as a danger on a further trip such as this. He has had a decent, consistent season and was third over the hurdles at Warwick three weeks ago.

SPEAK OF THE DEVIL is the other for the shortlist. He claimed a win in a handicap chase in June at Hexham having really improved his jumping form to get that.

There is a competitive line up for horse racing betting in this Carlisle handicap. There are plenty with a chance.

SAMBEZI is one of those as he went well on his hurdles debut at Fontwell in March, landing the win in the maiden. He looks to be well-bred to take on the fences so he is one of note.

WELL ABOVE PAR is a former course and distance winner so that is a feather in his cap. He returns after a break which could be key after pulling up at Ayr on his final effort of last season.

DOKTOR GLAZ is another to keep an eye on in this one. He makes his reappearance and has a proven record when fresh. Doctor Glaz is a former course and distance winner and knows this track well.

EDINBURGH CASTLE could go well in this one and rates a danger as a horse racing tip. He has not been out of the places in five previous goes over the hurdles.

This is his return to the jumps since taking a second-place finish at Stratford in August. But he has had a recent spin on the level so should be sharp.

LUCKY ROBIN is likely to be in the mix as well. He claimed a victory at Sedgefield recently and is currently thriving having found some new improved form out of the blue.

Also going to the shortlist is KENSINGTON ART who scored over the hurdles in a Hexham maiden in August. He was well held in a follow up in a Kelso handicap but place claims are there.

LEAVE MY ALONE was improving well over the fences last season and the pick of his form was when he bolted up at Fakenham.

She looks to be sitting on a decent mark to add to her tally. Leave My Alone is up 3lb for her reappearance run.

BETWEEN THE WATERS has fallen down the weights, but there have been some decent form recently by him. The visor goes on and he comes up on a trip that should pull more from him and place claims exist.

CLOUD FORMATION has been in the frame in three of his last four. He does look as if he needs to find a little bit more. He showed some form in a novices’ handicap at Worcester last time out.

He wasn’t at his best on a handicap run at Leicester on his latest, but the return to Wolverhampton should give him a boost.

BLUE DE VEGA is a good one and has won two of his last five efforts. That includes a Leicester handicap scored just over two weeks ago. He should be involved.

The final one for the shortlist is ROYAL BIRTH who is a previous course and distance winner. He put in a decent shift here in a handicap three weeks ago and while he needs to find more, place claims are there.
