Race Preview

JAKAMANI can’t be counted out of this fixture as there could be more promising form to come from him. The handicapper has been after him, moving Jakamani up 11lb.

He has looked a better model since having a wind operation. Jakamani followed up on a second-place finish at Stratford before picking up a score at Fontwell three weeks ago.

ADMIRAL BALKO makes his return after a winning run in March at Wincanton. That was on his handicap debut and looked good on it.

He’s on a fair mark, coming up just 4lb from that effort and retains plenty of scope for further improvement as well.

COLDEN’S DREAM is worth considering for the shortlist as well in this race. He makes the move to handicapping for the first time.

This will be just his third racetrack appearance, but he’s from a top yard with potential.

Race Preview

This is a very competitive handicap chase at Worcester on Thursday. STARSKY is coming down in class so he rates as a danger.

He will have his first run for a top new yard for the day, so will probably be sharp.

Starsky did open the season with a victory, demolishing a handicap hurdle field at Warwick in May. He may well shape up as the one to beat in this one.

CORRAN CROSS is also a shortlist material for horse racing betting. He has claimed back to back wins and goes for a new yard on Thursday.

He picked up a fine win at Downpatrick in August on his first go at the fences. The extra trip may pose stern questions, but overall Corran Cross looks to be in good shape.

CANYON CITY is another of the key contenders for this contest. He picked up a course and distance win two weeks ago.

So he should bring another bold run to the table and come up with only 1lb extra for that effort. It wasn’t the strongest of races, so Canyon City will have more on his plate in this one.

BIG LES should have claims in this one considering that he delivered a course and distance win nine days ago.

He’s 2lb well in for this next attempt, even though he has come up a further 5lb. So he checks some boxes as a horse racing tip.

Big Les looked quite impressive in getting that score recently and a big follow up effort should be on the way.

KAPONO is another that rates as an obvious danger for this contest. He arrives following a score at Newcastle two weeks ago.

Kapono has been pushed up just 1lb from that score, which puts him well in this one. This is a more difficult task ahead than the Newcastle run in which everything panned out in his favour.

We would also consider JOHN KIRKUP for the shortlist. He was fifth over course and distance 9 days ago, behind winner Big Les.

But that was a very credible run from him and the cheekpieces go back on.

John Kirkup’s last victory was recorded here in July and is a course and distance winner.

RETIREMENT BECKONS has to be firmly considered as a horse racing tip for Thursday’s action from Aye.

He ran into some traffic last time out at Hamilton, but he still stuck to his task well to claim a fourth-place finish.

Retirement Beckons has won before at Ayr and gets the nod on the pick of the form.

This is not a particularly quality field. LISTEN AGAIN should have claims as he looks to break a long-standing maiden.

He has been in the frame in his last two, so with the cheekpieces still on, Listen Again may be able to build on a good third at Catterick last time out.

WRITTEN BROADCAST claimed a score at Musselburgh in August in a handicap. He was last seen over course and distance 9 days ago.

In that latest run, Written Broadcast took a fourth-place finish. He can’t be dismissed as the blinkers go on for the first time.

KATS BOB brings some nice form to the table, so even under a penalty he rates as a danger in horse racing betting.

He is not always the most reliable. But Kat’s Bob scored at course and distance 9 days ago, hence the 6lb penalty.

Kats Bob did have to fight all the way to the line to hang on to his advantage. So a follow up isn’t going to be cut and dry.

ALL THINGS BRIGHT has some claims here. She went close on her penultimate run and stayed on a good competitive mark.

This is her first go on British soil and her first run for a new yard as well.

TRUE MASON can be a tricky one but can get himself in this one. He hasn’t claimed a win since 2018.

But there have been a couple of notable runs recently from him. True Mason was third 9 days ago at this course on a shorter trip.

We finish up today’s horse racing tips with this handicap chase from Exeter. NEVILLE’S CROSS should feature in this one.

He returned from a break after a 7th at Uttoxeter in a chase back in July. Neville’s Cross comes down in both trip and class and brings solid claims.

PARICOLOR is interesting after picking up a score at Hexham over the hurdles in a selling race. He thrived in that sphere.

This is going to be more testing over the fences, but he may well have enough to bring place claims to the table.

SIZING AT MIDNIGHT was a runner-up at Uttoxeter last month. That was a good return to form from the 9-year-old.

He is 5lb dwarf from his last winning mark and if he can build on that Uttoxeter effort, there has to be something in this one for him.
