Race Preview
PETER THE GREAT has finished as the runner up the last twice. The second of those efforts was a notable one.
It was a runner-up spot at the course and distance three weeks ago.
So he is tracking along well at the moment.
Peter The Great comes up just 1lb for that effort and will have the addition of the blinkers for the first time too.
SHARPCLIFF looks like being the one to beat however and will likely take some stopping if in the same mood as he has been recently.
There was a course and distance win for Sharpcliff a month ago, which saw him complete a hattrick.
That was after a break of a month.
So after the same time to refresh and recharge, and only a 4lb rise to deal with, this looks to be well within his range.
IMPERIAL SANDS looks the best of the rest to follow in this field as he gets the cheek pieces for the first time.
There was a score by him at the start of the year but hasn’t backed that up in any run since.
A couple of runner-up finishes hints that he can challenge for a place perhaps.

LIGHT AND DARK was last seen collecting a win back in the autumn of 2020 on a 7f trip at Kempton.
Since then he has not been anywhere near a score.
His three efforts since that win were on the turf at Meydan.
Light And Dark returns after a break of more than three months and he is unexposed on the all-weather.
He has had one effort on the surface and he did win, and Light And Dark’s yard is in form.
SIR OLIVER is a credible threat in this one as well after taking a runner up spot in a course and distance handicap just over three weeks ago.
That could see him trending towards a win. He earned five victories in a really productive 2021 and he may be ready to peak once again.
KARIBANA is the other potentially big player in this one as he has a good record at this venue.
He is also sliding in the rating at the moment which should help him out.
Karibana is a former course and distance winner and has William Buick booked too.

NAADIYA is on the shortlist as she should have a lot more to bring to the table as she moves into handicapping.
Naadiya has put in some credible efforts across novice and maiden runs, so there is potential there.
She has good breeding as well and with her being unexposed, she may be able to put a positive start together under rules.
BUXTED TOO was third in a Yarmouth handicap 42 days having gone off as the favourite.
That sees him drop in the weights a little more and he receives the cheek pieces for the first time on Tuesday as well.
Buxted Too should have a reasonable chance in this one.
DOURADO is our other selection for today’s racing tips on this card. She was a good second at Lingfield 43 days ago.
Dourado has been consistent, although she is looking to snap what is now a very long winless streak.
She was clear of anyone behind her in that recent runner up, so should go well again.

LYRICAL LADY should go well again as she looked in fine form when taking a runner-up finish at Nottingham a month ago.
That was her reappearance run, so she should be fitter for it.
Lyrical Lady is a maiden still, but she looks as if she can get right in this.
AIMING HIGH gets another 5lb to deal with after hitting a high note last time out with a score at Doncaster three weeks ago.
That success was earned on her handicap debut and she looked impressive. It was on her step up to this distance.
Aiming High has wonderful breeding in her and she does set the standard in this fillies’ contest.
SUNRISE VALLEY was a fourth place finisher at Nottingham in April on her latest run.
That was a reappearance for the filly, who goes for a top yard and has Ryan Moore booked.
Last year she won a couple of novice 1m efforts.
As a four-year-old now, there should be plenty more to come from Sunrise Valley who rates as a danger.

HURRICANE HELEN was a winner at Bath two weeks ago and she took that comfortably.
The form from that race also reads well since.
With all of that in mind then a 4lb rise handed to her for success doesn’t look to be out of Hurricane Helen’s scope.
BLUENOSE BELLE drops another 2lb after finishing second from last in a field of size at Sandown three weeks ago.
She takes a drop back in the distance which should help her out and is no forlorn hope.
She’s a good enough performer to have an impact on her day.
MAJESTIC TEHAAN is the final shortlisted selection for this race after having gotten herself in the frame the last twice.
She hasn’t taken a victory since 2020. But with Tom Marquand booked for Tuesday’s run, Majestic Tehaan should be competitive.

GAINSBOURG picked up a couple of wins in the previous campaign and has been solid enough since his return.
He opened the season with a place finish at Pontefract, then had excuses at Southwell on his follow up.
Gainsbourg has been recharged with a 43-day break and drops in class, so has more than a reasonable shout on Tuesday.
CLEAR ANGEL also gets on the shorts for this contest after an encouraging runner-up spot at Newcastle two weeks ago.
He left everyone else in the field behind him in taking second.
Clear Angel should handle the return to the turf and his form reads well.
PRECISELY can’t be written out of this if he puts her best foot forward. She comes down on a trip on Tuesday.
She was last seen at Kempton 121 days ago, taking a fourth place finish in a field of seven.
Precisely was a winner at Wolverhampton in December and this isn’t beyond her.
