Some big claims are running right through this fixture. STOWELL has been attracting plenty of interest after a third at Royal Ascot last month.

That was in a race that didn’t suit him and he was held up as well. But it was an eye-catching run that he put in.

GEAR UP takes a drop in class after having had his ambitions curtailed just a little bit this season.

There are some top juveniles here and it is PROJECT DANTE that we are striking for as a racing tip.

He was third in the Norfolk on his latest run three weeks ago. That followed a winning debut at York during the Dante meeting.

That effort at the Group 2 Norfolk is the best form of anyone heading into his contest. It wasn’t a clean run that Project Dante had in that one either.

As for those who are capable of scrapping it out for the places, that will be ELDRICKJONES who was a good second in the Coventry last time out and DIG TWO who missed out on a hattrick on his latest run finishing behind stablemate Eldrickjones.

Today’s Newmarket Racing Tip

This is a meaty affair and there is a clear market leader in racing odds. That’s BOOMSHALAA at 3/1* (betting odds recorded 17:51 GMT on July 7th, 2021 at William Hill).

The progressive 3-year-old warrants some respect here and it is hard to argue with his form.

He picked up a win on his reappearance at Kempton and followed up with another score at Windsor.

He nearly got his nose in front at Royal Ascot last time out in a 5f handicap. He should be suited to the move back to 6f and comes up 3lb. Boomshalaa may take some beating here.

POPMASTER looks to have plenty of scope for further improvement, so it is worth keeping in mind for the places.

So took AKKERINGA who has produced some nice form this season. He has been on the up recently winning at Doncaster and then here over course and distance.

This is the big one of the day from Newmarket. AL AASY heads up the field as the 8/13 odds-on favourite* (betting odds recorded 17:51 GMT on July 7th, 2021 at William Hill).

He missed out on a hattrick chance after finishing a close second at the Coronation Cup last time out.

That Epsom run though still saw him continue on in fine form.

A year ago Al Aasy won the Bahrain Trophy on this card. His form has been massively on the up this season.

Another boon for him is that Al Aasy receives 3lb from SIR RON PRIESTLEY. That rival has just seen his form slip away a little bit.

Sir Ron Priestley has struggled at York and Ascot, having been too keen on both occasions there.

He has the claim of having beaten Pyldriver this season, who in turn beat Al Aasy in the Coronation Cup. His form may not quite be there at the moment.

We are having a slight preference for MAXIMAL at 9/4 in this one* (betting odds recorded 17:51 GMT on July 7th, 2021 at William Hill).

That is because he has a very nice piece of form. That will be a fourth-place finish at the St James’s Palace at Royal Ascot three weeks ago.

So we think that Maximal is firmly in the hunt in this one to return to winning ways for Sir Michael Stoute.

At the head of the market, there is BAAEED who rates a massive threat. It has been two wins from two from him. The latest of those wins was at course and distance in a novice affair.

The only question here, although he looks like a brilliant prospect, is the step up in class, so that’s why we think he’s worth taking on.

NAAMOOS is the other that could show well here. He found the St James’s Palace Stakes way too much for him. But he had taken back to back wins before that and this is more in his range.

Path Of Thunder’s latest saw him claim another runner up spot at Chelmsford City three weeks ago. The blinkers go on for the first time and we expect Path Of Thunder to be right there.

LEGENDARY DAY is another with some promise. He has been taking his form in the right direction and is sitting on a hattrick change.

EPIC ENDEAVOUR is going to be another one to watch after returning to top form to take a second place at Windsor 12 days ago.

That was a big step forward in form for this handicapper who was super progressive last year.
