Tyson Fury v Tom Schwarz Betting Preview & Predictions

Fury to make no mistake against German

Sports Betting

Tyson Fury will be on his toes in the early hours of Sunday morning as he lines up against Germany’s Tom Schwarz. After Andy Ruiz shocked the heavyweight division by taking out Anthony Joshua, it was a warning sign that no-one can be taken for granted. Fury though will step into the ring as the heavy odds-on favourite.

Can Fury avoid the upset against Schwarz?

Tyson Fury is the next of the heavyweight top order to put himself into action. This will be his first fight since that wonderful draw against Deontay Wilder in California. This fight against Germany’s Schwarz is taking place in Las Vegas at the MGM Grand. This should be a stop gap before he gets back into action for a belt, whether it’s a rematch against Wilder or whoever the winner of the Joshua v Ruiz rematch later in the year is.

Fury then remains undefeated in his pro career with a W27 D1 record under his belt. 19 of his victories have been by a knockout. That is back to back fights now though in which he has gone the distance, firstly against Francesco Pianeta and then Wilder. But the thing about this one is that Fury is going to be a lot fitter, or at least he should be, then when he met Wilder. Fury is 1/2 to win by KO TKO or Disqualification* (betting odds taken from Bet365 on June 14th, 2019 at 3:14 pm)

Tom Schwarz, to do an “Andy Ruiz”?

Frankly, the victory that Andy Ruiz produced against Anthony Joshua will have given a great deal of hope to anyone looking to pull off a shock in this competitive heavyweight division. But the same output doesn’t look to be quite as likely in this one. The German is totally untested in any big bout like this one. It will also be the first time that he has fought outside of his own country.

Schwarz won the vacant WBO Intercontinental heavyweight title back in 2017 and has defended it four times. His last fight was a quick second-round knockout of Kristjan Krstacic. Schwarz has won his last three fights by knockout. But he really hasn’t bit hit by a heavyweight leader so there’s no idea about how well his chin is going to stand up. There’s no real indication of just how much of a hitter he is. He is giving up height and reach to Fury and Schwarz looks a little slow on his feet.

Fury v Schwarz Prediction

This should be a routine win for Fury really. Forget all about the upset that happened to Joshua, that has no bearing on this one. Fury is a very smart, tactical fighter and it’s hard to see, with how Schwarz looks in training, just how he is going to get enough to actually land anything of note on Fury.

Tyson Fury won’t likely worry about going for the big showcase knockout early on, he can bide his time and wear his opponent down. Fury in Round 7-1 at 15/8* (betting odds taken from Bet365 on June 14th, 2019 at 3:14 pm).
