Race Favourite

Things are a little tight at the head of the market for this race. ON THE SLOPES is the current 3/1 favourite for the contest* (betting odds taken from William Hill at 20:03 GMT on Thursday, 12th November 2020).

On his repparance run he claimed a fifth place finish over course and distance three weeks ago.

He had Beat The Judge (who he re-opposes here) in front of him on that occasion.

On The Slopes looked good on Trails Day here, claiming third in a novice handicap last season.

That kicked him off into a bigger form of taking back to back wins at Kempton to round off the previous campaign.

With a run under his belt, On The Slopes is going to be a threat back at Prestbury Park.

UK and Ireland Odds & Tips

BEAT THE JUDGE is likely to have a big say in this fixture as well. Last time out he was over course and distance three weeks ago.

He was hunting down a hatrick in that one. Things didn’t quite go to plan as he was forced wide for most of the contest and settled for third.

There’s big potential there and looks hot for more handicapping action.

FANION D’ESTRUVAL is the other for the shortlist. He finished the previous campaign in such hot form, winning four on the spin.

He has had just one run on British soil since scoring on a British debut a year ago .

That was at Kempton right at the end of last season where he was below form taking a fifth. But on his return, Fanion D’estruval is well worth another chance to meet those expectations.

Race Favourite

There is only a small field here and leading the way with favouritism is PROTEKTORAT at 11/8* (betting odds taken from William Hill at 20:03 GMT on Thursday, 12th November 2020).

His supporters received a big boost as Protektorat scored for trainer David Skelton on his reappearance run last month. That was a 2m maiden contest at Carlisle.

Protektorat put on a really strong show of jumping to get that score and having improved massively over the hurdles last season, there is likely a lot more to come over the bigger stuff.

UK and Ireland Odds & Tips

SOUTHFIELD STONE was out over course and distance in October and he delivered a win there.

That was the first ttrp of the season for him, having been away since February. But he looked good for that run and it delivered more promise for him.

In that Kempton run at the end of last season, Southfield Stone was tried at Grade 2 and took a second place finish.

The one question here about his chances is that Southfiled Stone gives 3lb to Protektorat.

MOSSY FEN was fourth on his first start of the season. He was coming along well over the hurdles last season, but should develop into a nice chaser.

He deserved a little more than his fourth place here at Cheltenham on his reappearance. Regardless, he will have to find more.

So too will PAINT THE DREAM, the lowest ranked horse in the field. He has had two runs this season, both second-place finishes.

He is still looking for his first win over the fences, but he did only find a much better opponent (Happygolucky) too much to handle on his last start.

Feels like we’ve rolled back to the Cheltenham Festival here for horse racing betting.

It’s some Cross Country action with EASYSLAND heading things at 4/6* (betting odds taken from William Hill at 20:03 GMT on Thursday, 12th November 2020).

He has been unstoppable and he will go up against Tiger Roll once again as he did at this season’s Festival. 8 months ago Easysland took Tiger Roll’s crown in cross country as he destroyed his opponent by 17l.

That victory at Cheltenham was one of five straight wins that he posted and Easysland remains on an undefeated career. He is easily the one to beat in this contest.

Interestingly though he gives 4lb to Tiger Roll in this one after being on even weight with him at the Festival. Will that be enough to slow him? Probably not.

UK and Ireland Odds & Tips

This is all about Easysland and TIGER ROLL. It’s just one of those races where no-one else is likely to get close.

It was a second place finish for Tiger Roll at the Cross Country at the Cheltenham Festival earlier this year.

It was questionable whether or not he was at his very best though. Tiger Roll should be in this because in order to prime himself for this return to Cheltenham he was sent to Navan for a trip on the flat.

We just don’t see enough in him to turn the tables, however.

The other one that we will look at is Welsh National winner POTTERS CORNER. This is an interesting sphere for him to be showing up in.

He has not been seen however since that win at the Welsh National 10 months ago.

Potter’s Corner is carrying a 5lb claimer and if he’s sharp it will be fascinating to see whether or not he can launch a bold challenge to the big two.

This is going to be one of the races of the day from Cheltenham on Friday. DOES HE KNOW is the current 6/4 market leader* (betting odds taken from William Hill at 20:03 GMT on Thursday, 12th November 2020).

He comes back into action sitting on a hattrick having laid down some impressive form this season.

The former point winner has transitioned brilliantly to the hurdles as expected.

Does He Know opened his account at Ludlow in October and then went over course and distance in a much stiffer contest.

It was a win from 9/1 for him here at Cheltenham, beating Midnight River by a good five lengths. He may take some stopping.

UK and Ireland Odds & Tips

GRAND MOGUL should have a say in proceedings really. He got his new season off to a winning start with a success in a Chepstow novice a couple of weeks ago.

Grand Mogul got the move to the hurdles last season but failed to come good in two attempts.

So that recent effort at Chepstow was a marked improvement in this sphere for the gelding, trained by Nicky Henderson.

The other that we feel warrants some respect for this is POLISH. If he can cut out the errors then he may be able to enter the calculations here.

This will be his third run of the season and he delivered a good performance on his last run.

That was over the hurdle at Cheltenham just last month. That was on a 3m trip and Polish made a couple of bad errors in it, but still managed to get close.

We made the switch to Southwell for our next horse racing betting tip.

JUST A SIP is the leader in the market for this Mares’ contest at 7/2* (betting odds taken from William Hill at 20:03 GMT on Thursday, 12th November 2020).

This will be her third go at the hurdles and she seems to be making progress. The step into handicapping is likely to aid her cause even more.

There was a seventh place finish for Just A Sip on her last run, a Huntingdon maiden hurdle last month.

UK and Ireland Odds & Tips

Getting the nod for us though is DYLAN’S SEA SONG at 4/1* (betting odds taken from William Hill at 20:03 GMT on Thursday, 12th November 2020).

He will get the hood back on and backers will be hoping that she returns to the form that she showed on her first two trips this season.

There was enough there, having placed in a couple of hurdles to warrant taking a look at her.

Dylan’s Sea Song did come up short last time out at Newton Abbot in September, but it may not take much for her to get back up.

The other for the contender would have to be INFINITI. It was a fourth place finish from her on her return to action this season.

She is a long time maiden now over the hurdles, not having gotten off the mark at 16 attempts. But there was some ability shown there at Hexham under rules last time out.

It’s on to the Polytrack action at Dundalk next where PEARLS GALORE is the 6/5 favourite* (betting odds taken from William Hill at 20:03 GMT on Thursday, 12th November 2020).

There Has been good form from the French filly without question. She won her first two trips of the new season, those victories coming at Limerick and Cork.

She then stepped it up big time as Pearls Galore was sent into Grade 3 action at Gowran where she found only Champers Eylsees too good on the day.

That last run was in September so it’s been a nice little bring. Pearls Galore brings big claims.

UK and Ireland Odds & Tips

SURROUNDING will get plenty of backing given her track record in this contest.

Pearls Galore has won it twice before so the seven year old needs to be respected.

She gets a great draw from the stalls as well and with some current form on her side.

Surrounding’s score at Leopardstown on her last run a month ago in a Listed race. She must enter calculations.

Our tip is British interest UMMALNAR for Willie Haggas. She was last seen in a Listed fixture at Lingfield on a 1 mile trip two weeks ago.

The mare put in a very respectable run, hinting at more to come as well from that all-weather trip.

Ummalnar was third in a field of twelve in that Lingfield trip. From 9/2 Ummalnar is well worth considering* (betting odds taken from William Hill at 20:03 GMT on Thursday, 12th November 2020).
