Race Favourite

The favourite for this one, which is Race 4 from Cartmel on Sunday is YCCS PORTOCERVO at 3/1* (betting odds taken from Bet365 at 20:49 GMT on Saturday, 22nd August 2020). He put a win on the board last time out.

That was at Uttoxeter a couple of weeks ago and it followed a third place finish in a Sttraford effort as well.

So he seems to have taken to the fences pretty well. His win at Uttoxeter was on his handicap debut as well and needs to be respected for this contest.

UK Racing Odds & Tips

NORTHERN BEAU is back for his first run since February. Back in December she scored a win at Cheltenham on a longer trip and is only 3lb higher from that score.

Her last run, which was at Warwick, was 3f longer than this trip and it looked to be too much for her. So the fact that Northern Beau is coming down here in trip makes her a big player.

The other likely major player in the field is going to be COURT ROYALE who delivered a win on his last run.

He has won 3 times over hurdles before and was on top of his game to score a 17f contest at Stratford in July. He will have to carry an extra 7lb for this one, but he still looks a lively contender.

Race Favourite

This is Race from Sandown on Sunday and it is a good-looking contest as well. MURAAD heads the market currently from a 9/4 quote* (betting odds taken from Bet365 at 20:49 GMT on Saturday, 22nd August 2020).

It’s been wonderful form from him since his return to action. He claimed back to back second-place finishes on return before collecting a win at Goodwood on his last effort. He finished very well there.

Muraad is still getting better and with more progress to come from him, he should have strong claims in this field.

UK Racing Odds & Tips

HYANNA should be a major player in this contest. She is a very capable sort and stepping straight back into action in June, she scored at Windsor.

Based on her most recent performance she has progressed her form even further, coming home second in an Ascot contest.

Hyanna claims 5lb for jockey Georgia Dobie and is up 2lb from her Ascot effort.

There is also form coming to the table from VICTORY CHIME. He is a former course and distance winner and he made a successful return to action recently at Windsor as well.

He is a bold runner and claimed a win in that Windsor reappearance a couple of weeks ago. So there is a chance that he is going to be well in the mix as well.

Race Favourite

QUADRILATERAL is the 6/4 favourite for this contest* (betting odds taken from Bet365 at 20:49 GMT on Saturday, 22nd August 2020).

She was in form last season and one of the scores that she produced was in the Group 1 Fillies’ Mile.

She has been among top company on her return to action as well having played her part in the 1000 Guineas and the Coronation Stakes, getting the places in both of those top Group 1 efforts.

Notably, as well she has Ryan Moore taking the ride for the first time and that partnership is going to be pretty tough to beat on the day it looks like.

UK Racing Odds & Tips

BILLESDON BROOK is a good consistent sort who will give another good account of herself, no doubt.

She was last seen at the Falmouth where she battled well but couldn’t find an answer to winner Nazeef. After that Newmarket effort, she comes down in level of competition and should be a threat.

We would have a look at LADY BOWTHORPE as well after some signs of progress from her this season.

She has won two of her last four efforts and her 1m win at Ascot in a Group 3 contest was just a sparkling effort.

Lady Bowthorpe crushed the field there and if she brings that kind of form to the table she could defy a 3lb rise to get herself into the frame.

ETONIAN may set the standard here and he is the 5/2 favourite* (betting odds taken from Bet365 at 20:49 GMT on Saturday, 22nd August 2020).

That was a win over course and distance as well for trainer Richard Hannon. He simply strode clear to post that win and needs now to be respected.

UK Racing Odds & Tips

DUBAI FOUNTAIN has a bit more racetrack experience than those he is up against in this contest on Sunday.

She will be going into her fifth race, having won two of her four previous runs.

Dubai Fountain has been runner-up on her last two efforts, which were in Listed and Group 3 fixtures. She’s getting better.

KING VEGA should be one of the big players as well after finishing runner up at the track earlier this month.

That experience will have put him in good stead and that course and distance effort was only three weeks ago.

He is coming up to a higher level now, but looks good enough to get in the frame.

CHRISTMAS NIGHT is the 10/3 favourite for this Wolverhampton handicap* (betting odds taken from Bet365 at 20:49 GMT on Saturday, 22nd August 2020).

He gets the cheekpieces back on for this content following a 4th at Beverley three weeks ago.

It looks as if Christmas Night is sitting on a fairly competitive mark here. So there will be some expectations of him taking his form forward by getting close in this one.

UK Racing Odds & Tips

WATHEER needs to be kept on side for the trip as well. He was a course and distance winner earlier this year.

He was last in action a couple of weeks ago when he put in a respectable fourth and he is down 2lb from that mark. So there is an opportunity ahead of him.

AIR OF YORK is a previous course and distance winner. The last win that he put on the board was at Bath in July.

He has been out a couple of times since then, most recently at Windsor a couple of weeks ago when he was 4th of 12. He has the potential to take this.
