Race Favourite

The race favourite for this is PRINCESS POWER at 5/2* (betting odds taken from Unibet at 19:12 GMT on Monday, 17th August 2020) who is on an upward swing of form at the moment. She is also a course and distance winner.

There was more progress this season from her last time out as she claimed a second-place finish at Ascot over this 5f trip. Princess Power put in a really good run there.

That was only 10 days ago so she should be sharp and chomping at the bit to go again. That Ascot performance followed a third place at Sandown and she looks ready to get that first score of the campaign.

This is a very strong field that she will be lining up against, however.

UK Racing Odds & Tips

NIBRAS AGAIN has favourable weight for this trip and because of this, he has to be respected. Just back in July he scored over course and distance.

Following that he handled a 4lb hike pretty well to claim a fourth at Haydock just over a week ago. He is only up 3lb from his course and distance win.

SECRETINTHEPARK can be excused for his last run, finishing down the field in a Goodwood Handicap.

He was bang in form prior to that however as he sprinted his way to back to back second place finished. He is another course and distance winner.

MUSHARIFF should have claims as well for this one because he has secured three course and distance wins in his career.

He was running well a week ago at the track claiming 4th of 14 in a handicap. He has slid a bit to a favourable mark and poses a threat back at Beverley.

Race Favourite

At the time of writing we have joint 11/4 favourites in JACAMAR and GATEWAY TO EUROPE* (betting odds taken from Unibet at 19:12 GMT on Monday, 17th August 2020).

JACAMAR will be looking for a bounce-back after not completing her last trip. Before being forced out of that one she was in good shape in the fixture on what was her return to action. She’s not one to throw to the curb because of that.

However, GATEWAY TO EUROPE just looks like the bigger threat of the two. He is a course and distance winner and performed very well in his last run.

That was 10 days at Uttoxeter in a stiffer contest than this in which he claimed second place. He’s only up 2lb from that and has to be in the reckoning.

We would have a good look at CHAPMANSHYPE as well to make a good case for himself in this one.

He signed off before his break with a hattrick and while his return at Southwell didn’t go great, finishing ninth that was his first run in nine months.

He should be sharper and he won four times at Fontwell last season including C&D.

PERCY STREET hit a nice bit of form on his last run. He got second place in a Newton Abbot handicap.

He’s not always the most reliable of hurdlers, not holding form consistently enough, but that was an excellent effort a couple of weeks ago. Percy Street is also on a winning mark.

Race Favourite

The race favourite for his Fontwell chase is ARTHUR’S SIXPENCE at 2/1* (betting odds taken from Unibet at 19:12 GMT on Monday, 17th August 2020). He will be targeting a hattrick score on Tuesday in this one.

Despite his big swing of form this season he has been let off the hook by the assessor and should have big claims here. The most recent score he got was at Market Rasen last month and those last two wins were tight ones.

Arthur’s Sixpence goes up 4lb from that Market Rasen effort but still, Kim Bailey’s low-mileage charge looks as if he’s going to be competitive.

RAMORE WILL takes on an extra 5lb for a success on his last run. That was at Plumpton back in January so he’s been away for a while.

But he is still on a very competitive market for this handicap chase and has to be respected in this field.

Another of the principal dangers for the favourite in this one is POINTED AND SHARP who made his recent return to action over hurdles. He was sixth in that appearance which should have sharpened him up very nicely.

Pointed And Sharp nailed a hattrick last season and a couple of the wins in that sequence were at Fontwell.

WISECRACKER leads the market for this handicap chase at 5/2* (betting odds taken from Unibet at 19:12 GMT on Monday, 17th August 2020). This is race 8 from Fontwell on Tuesday.

Wisecracker continues to charge along with some very nice consistent form, having been in the frame in each of his last six trips, scoring once in that sequence.

He is up at a high mark for this contest and gets cheekpieces back on. Another place finish should be on his radar, but at a mark of 92 that could just be a little too challenging.

The step up in trip however, should bring something out of him. He’s a very interesting contender.

HOLD ME TIGHT showed up very well on his last effort. He picked up a second place finish at Newton Abbot a couple of weeks ago, one of the best runs of his career.

He is still lacking a win in his career, but with Richard Johnson in the saddle, he could well have some claims here.

We will go to the top of the weights for our next selection which is GOLD MOUNTAIN. He showed some nice form since his return to action, placing in both of his runs which were in July.

Those were after having been away for 7 months. He is shaving off a bit of trip after a 3rd at Newton Abbot last time out and gets the visor for the first time.

She has knocked on the door in her last two efforts, posting back to back runners-up finishes.

She had been odds-on favourite for her last trip which was at Newmarket.

Declaring Love comes into her handicap debut in this one and looks to have plenty of progress about her to make an impact in this one for trainer Charlie Appleby.

DREAMLOPER is likely going to be a great fit for this trip and she is going off at a very nice mark of 85 as well.

She got off the mark on her third trip, opening her account three weeks ago at Redcar with an impressive run. She steps into handicapping now and there’s likely to be a lot more from her.

RUBIA BELLA is another, like most in this field actually who looks open to progress in the race.

She opened her account on her appearance this season, getting the win in a minor Wolverhampton event. That was two months ago and she too makes a handicap debut.

He should be in the picture given that he has placed on his last two trips.

His last run was three weeks ago when he handled himself well to b on a mile trip. There should be an improvement in the cards for him.

RIDESON finally got off the mark on her last effort with a score at Bath 35 days ago. That snapped a run of five straight runners-up places.

So there is clear consistency there from her and she has to enter calculations. The one question mark would be her mark which could be a tough high.

TOPANTICIPATION looks a promising sort. On his last run, he took second place but he was well clear of those behind him.

He lost to Ricetta in that one who went on to place in Group 3 company afterwards. There is likely a lot more to come from him under handicapping terms.
