Race Favourite

Heading up the field for Race 3 of Yarmouth on Wednesday is WALIYAK at 4/1* (betting odds taken from William Hill at 23:37 GMT on Sunday, 9th August 2020). She will be looking to serve up a double as she comes back into action.

Fourteen days ago she powered clear of the pack to score a win at Lingfield in a field of five. That was big progress made from her.

She has been in some great company this year, with runs at Royal Ascot, Glorious Goodwood and at the Ebor at York. She is one for the shortlist.

UK Racing Odds & Tips

VIRGIN SNOW put a win on the board at Haydock back in June and on her last run produced the goods to claim second place in a York handicap.

She had the hood on for the first time in that one, which was just shy of a month ago. She did finish ahead of Waliyak at the Ebor.

It will be interesting to see what A LA VOILE can produce in this one. She looks a decent fit for this company as she has posted a hat trick this season.

The best of those came on her last trip, a 10f handicap at Sandown just over three weeks ago. Trained by Sir Michael Stoute, she could have more about her in a tougher test.

Race Favourite

This is some top action at the Chasemore Farm Fortune Stakes which is a Listed fixture. EPIC HERO is the 11/8 favourite for the race after having produced some very good form this season* (betting odds taken from William Hill at 23:37 GMT on Sunday, 9th August 2020). He has been in the rframe in each of his four runs.

The one win that he posted was in his penultimate trip when he scored on a 1m trip at Meydan. That was a highly impressive score that he got there as well.

He was up at Group 3 last time out, coming home second in the Strensall Stakes at York. He has some pretty big claims.

UK Racing Odds & Tips

ZAAKI should feature well in this fixture as well. He has dropped a little in class to take on his one and he is a dual Group 3 winner.

On his reappearance this season he was third in the Diomed at Newbury and has pretty much stayed in good shape since and he is likely to thrive back at 1m.

MONTATHAM is just going from strength to strength at the moment and is our pick at 5/2* (betting odds taken from William Hill at 23:37 GMT on Sunday, 9th August 2020).

The one exception was a second in the Royal Cup. He has won three of his four trips this season and the most recent was at this distance at York in August and looks ready for this step up.

Race Favourite

There is SPARKLING OLLY and LONG HAIRED LOVER as the joint 9/4 favourites currently for the Hampton Fillies’ Handicap on Wednesday* (betting odds taken from William Hill at 23:37 GMT on Sunday, 9th August 2020).

SPARKLING OLLY looks a solid option here as she is heading in the right direction. In her penultimate run she got a win in a Chepstow handicap and then dealt with a quick turnaround to claim third at Newmarket. So there have been very promising signs from her.

LONG HAIRED LOVER, for whom Oisin Murphy takes the ride, looks to be at a great mark here. Her last effort was a third place finish at Kempton a month ago.

That form was franked by the two ahead of her going on to do good things. She deserves her place on the shortlist.

UK Racing Odds & Tips

AROHA has posted three-straight second-place finishes and so she can’t be counted out of this at all. She showed a great work ethic last time out, grinding through some heavy condition to get her runner up spot at Goodwood three weeks ago.

The question is, can jockey Ryan Moore get her to the line first to break that frustrating maiden?

One more name for the short list will be DELICATE KISS who is currently sat below her last winning mark.

She has put in a couple of good efforts in her last three races, the most recent of which was on a 10f trip here at Sandown less than a week ago. Place claims could be there if she can handle the quick turnaround.

17:00 Sandown Handicap UK Racing Odds & Tips

Baarrij 3/1
Dublin Pharaoh 4/1
Junkanoo 4/1
Zambezi Magic 9/1

Race Favourite

PITCHER’S POINT is a narrow 5/2 favourite at the head of this field for Wednesday* (betting odds taken from William Hill at 23:37 GMT on Sunday, 9th August 2020).

He will be looking to secure a hat-trick in this run, which will be his debut on turf.

Pitcher’s Point returned to action to score at Chelmsford on his handicap debut which was after six months away. He has great pedigree and looks to have solid claims.

UK Racing Odds & Tips

BAARIJ is an interesting player in this field as she collected a win on her last run. That was the second of her career and it came at Ripon in August.

Granted it looks as if she will have to find more in better company here, but she warrants respect for the shortlist. She’s lightly raced, is in on a shorter trip and has Ryan Moore booked.

DUBLIN PHAROAH will be the other pick for this race. 18 days ago he was in action at Newmarket and he posted a fourth there.

He never quite got up to the form that he had produced in his previous race, his reappearance, when he powered his way to an all-weather win at Lingfield. He’s not to be written off.

19:10 Kelso Handicap Hurdle UK Racing Odds & Tips

Race Favourite

The race favourite for this Class 2 Kelso trip is CHAPMANSHYPE at 7/2* (betting odds taken from William Hill at 23:37 GMT on Sunday, 9th August 2020). He got back to winning ways on his last trip as she eased to a win at Fontwell a month ago.

That was the fourth win in his last five and looks such a good hurdler so he has to enter calculations easily.

He does have to contend with a 10lb rise which slaps him with top weight for this fixture. That is about the only question mark over his chances in this one.

UK Racing Odds & Tips

TIGHT CALL is up 6lb as he comes back into action for a first run since February. In that last fixture Tight Call got to the line first at Southwell in a handicap and comfortably so.

It’s been a break of about three weeks for him, so he should be sharp and has that big weight advantage over the favourite.

BEENO also has to be looked at here after making some solid progress this eason. His reappearance was forgettable, but after an excellent second place at Ayr to follow up, he then went out to get a win at Cartmel.

That was three weeks ago and he only takes on a small rise in the handicap, so has to warrant respect.

17:40 Kelso Handicap Chase UK Racing Odds & Tips

Havana Hermano 7/4
Forecast 10/3
Cool Mix 6/1
Fort De L’ocean 7/1
Monsieur Co 7/1
Double W’s 9/1
Lake Takapuna 16/1
Ardera Cross 14/1

Race Favourite

HAVANA HERMANO is the 7/4 favourite for this Kelso Handicap Chase* (betting odds taken from William Hill at 23:37 GMT on Sunday, 9th August 2020).

This is going to be all about whether or not he can back up his last run, which was a win.

He produced the goods on a 2m trip at Uttoxeter last time out, which came after a poor chase debut.

So he’s back in the frame here and he seems to get the most out of cheek pieces and tactics on that last run. Havana Hermano goes up 6lb.

UK Racing Odds & Tips

COOL MIX has won before at Kelso and makes his return to action for the first time after wind surgery.

How much will that shake him up as he was producing some really inconsistent form last season over the jumps.

The surgery, plus seeing him stay at the same mark as a runner up effort on his penultimate start puts a couple of pieces together for his claims.

This is a tough field to pick from. FORECAST was going very well at Perth on his penultimate race before taking a tumble. But he was shaping very well in aht contest.

He seemed a little rattled on his last run, taking 6th at Uttoxeter at 2m 4f. Forecast gets the cheek pieces on for the first time. If he can shake off that last run, place claims are definitely there.
