Race Favourite

We have GLORY FIGHTER at the head of the market for this contest at 9/2* (betting odds taken from Coral at 00:03 GMT on Wednesday, 26th August 2020).

He has hit some form having won his last two appearances.

The most recent of those was just under a fortnight ago in a 5f trip at Chester. He looked as if he had plenty to spare as well there.

He takes on a 4lb rise for this one, but he should still be a big player in the contest.

MILITIA is right there in terms of form along with GLORY FIGHTER. Militia has won his last two races as well so is sitting on a hat trick too.

So that should make for an interesting contest if they both bring their top games.

There has been a previous course and distance win for MILITIA and he followed that up on his last run with a victory at Chester.

There has been a 4lb rise as well for him, but the five year old looks in equally as good shape as the favourite.

GOWANBUSTER is another to watch for in this competitive handicap He just missed out on a hattrick when he took on a course and distance trip a month ago.

He was third of seven there behind winner Militia. But he was within touch after shaping well and should put another bold run together.

Heading up the field for this one is SWEET CHARITY at 10/3* (betting odds taken from Coral at 00:03 GMT on Wednesday, 26th August 2020.

She posted a win back in July at Windsor and was in contention on her last trip at Lingfield three weeks ago.

She was beaten there by two runners who have since scored wins, and with Sweet Charity staying at the same mark, then she could set the standard for this fixture.

She has to be kept on side for this one and she has big claims.

AL DAIHA is looking for something of a bounce-back performance here, after not having gotten off the mark yet.

She has rattled the crossbar a couple of times this season and she was ticking along in nice form.

But her last effort, a run at Haydock and there will be questions about how she responds to that below-par run.

KENSTONE, therefore, should just take preference here in laying down a challenge to the favourite.

It has been back to back fourth-place finishes from him since stepping back into action. He has been shaping well and now he is down at what is a reduced mark, that puts him in the frame over a 10f trip.

Race Favourite

We have a really competitive market here and shading the favouritism currently in the market is TULANE at 9/4* (betting odds taken from Coral at 00:03 GMT on Wednesday, 26th August 2020).

He put in a good effort on his last effort, scoring a second place at Wolverhampton. That’s three runner-sup spots in his last four trips on the all-weather.

So his autumn form was good and that last trip at Wolverhampton was at this same distance and he looks to be in a decent position to mount a challenge in this race.

KING ATHELSTAN made a racetrack appearance three weeks ago and took sixth in a field of eight here at Lingfield on a 10f trip.

That was a speed race and he was just never in the frame with that one at all. He is taking on an extra bit of trip here which therefore is likely to be more in the wheelhouse.

NEARLY FAMOUS looks to be in decent shape as well. The mare has put in a couple of good sifts after more than a year away from the track.

So she’s not to be dismissed from this line up and is right there at the 9/2 quote with KING ATHELSTAN* (betting odds taken from Coral at 00:03 GMT on Wednesday, 26th August 2020).

The race favourite is PLEASURE GARDEN at 5/4* (betting odds taken from Coral at 00:03 GMT on Wednesday, 26th August 2020). There has been some great form from him having won four of his last five racetrack appearances.

The best of those came on his last effort, taking the line in a 12-runner Chepstow handicap over the 2m trip.

So that puts him right in the frame and even though he comes up 3lb he is looking on a good, competitive mark. It’s 4 wins from his last 5 handicap efforts.

AUTHOR’S DREAM is taking a drop in trip for this one and we think that is going to put him right in the competitive frame.

He claimed a win at Sandown in June from a big 50/1 SP. On his last effort, he was fifth from a big field of 15 at Goodwood a month ago.

This is an easier race for him to handle as well so he should be a player.

GRACEFUL LADY is below her last winning mark and that’s something that pulls in a little appeal.

She looked something back to her best on her penultimate race in a 2m effort at Beverley.

She was only sixth last time out but the conditions of the race didn’t suit her and Graceful Lady claims 5lb for her jockey.

The market leader for this contest is SEPRANI at 3/1* (betting odds taken from Coral at 00:03 GMT on Wednesday, 26th August 2020). There was a nice bounce back to something like top form last time out for Seprani.

She scored a second place at Lingfield three weeks ago at this distance. That was from a field of eleven. Seprani has come a long way down to this level now, a culmination of not having scored since back in 2018.

In all fairness, this contest looks to be wide-open. COOL STRUTTER, therefore, has some claims with that in mind after scoring at Windsor last time out.

He has put together some very nice form having been in the frame in five of his last six runs.

DELEGATE THE LADY is another who is carrying some decent enough form with her to make an impressive.

It has been two wins in her last three trips, just missing out on a hattrick on her last effort, taking second place in a Yarmouth handicap six weeks ago.
