The race favourite for this small field is MYSEVEN at 2/1* (betting odds taken from Betfred at 23:37 GMT on Sunday, 9th August 2020).

She is sitting on a hattrick as she comes back into action on Wednesday for this run at Nottingham.

The most recent of her successes was three weeks ago, delivering a career best at Kempton in a handicap fixture.

The conditions may raise a little question, but if she handles that she should be a player. She is up 6lb in the rating, but deserves a lot of respect.

UK Racing Odds & Tips

JANE MARPLE looks to be the other big pick for this race after scoring over the 1m 4f trip at Newmarket back in June.

The extra couple of furlongs is probably going to play to her strengths even more. Jane Marple will be making her handicap debut here.

This is her third racetrack appearance, but the question mark will be over the quality of that last race in which she scored,because it wasn’t as strong as this.

VIOLA could be a player in this field after picking up a win on her last outing. She scored at Lingfield over a 12f distance on her last trip. That was 41 days ago.

She is another that has jumped up 6lb in the rating and offers some tremendous value at 7/2 to take on the favourite with* (betting odds taken from Betfred at 23:37 GMT on Sunday, 9th August 2020). The conditions could be a big leveller and Viola is our pick.

Race Favourite

This is a competitive handicap hurdle and the current 10/3 favourite for the contest is EAU TOP* (betting odds taken from Betfred at 23:37 GMT on Sunday, 9th August 2020).

This is his reappearance run after having his last run in February at Newbury.

That was the handicap debut for him and the race settled down into his favour. It was not a bad winter overall from him.

Eau Top is on a competitive mark here and should be in the frame. He looks as if he has plenty more to offer goes as our pick.

OKSANA posted a win on her last run as well. She shook off some average form to get a score in a Market Rasen handicap 11 days ago.

She is now up a big 7lb in the ratings, but given the performance that she delivered, there is a big chance for her here.

RED REMINDER has recorded course and distance form having struck that twice at that earlier this year.

On this step up there is a decent chance for her to come through to make her presence felt in this one. It’s her rating, which is more than fair, that really brings appeal on top of C&D history.

The race favourite for this nursery contest is ACT OF WISDOM at 8/11* (betting odds taken from Betfred at 23:37 GMT on Sunday, 9th August 2020).

This will be his third racetrack appearance and he got off the mark at the second time of asking.

He has plenty of stamina against him and with cheek pieces on for the first time last time out, he scored in a Goodwood maiden.

He looks a good fit for this nursery action and the expensive yearling is at a fair mark. Act Of Wisdom sets the standard in this one and will be our pick.

SIDE SHOT should be another major player in this small field and he got off the mark on his last effort. That was his third racetrack appearance.

The son of Frankel got his win at a minor Wolverhampton event a couple of weeks ago.

There was plenty of guts shown by him to get that score. There was a good show of stamina produced by him and he should go close.

The narrow race favourite for this handicap chase action is MY RENAISSANCE at 13/8* (betting odds taken from Betfred at 23:37 GMT on Sunday, 9th August 2020).

He put a score on the board in his last race, delivering having taken some heavy backing.

The win came in an extended 2m trip and that was here at Sedgefield. He is going under a penalty in this one.

On a further trip though he has some big claims for this race. A drop down the rating certainly helped the cause of My Renaissance and he will probably be effective again from where he is at.

RAECIUS FELIX is the other one worth noting for this trip. He picked up a win at Kelso in September on his last appearance. He had plenty to spare in that race.

That saw him break maiden and he looks a tremendous chasing prospect. Raecius Felix has been lightly worked and the big test now for him will be to deliver the goods on a consistent basis.

But he looks a good threat here, carrying an extra 6lb from a ratings rise and goes as our 6/4 pick* (betting odds taken from Betfred at 23:37 GMT on Sunday, 9th August 2020)

The other contender worth considering for the shortlist is MISTERCOBAR who has put together a very good season.

His last run was in August when he put in a very strong run to claim second place at Uttoxeter. There will be some good place claims for him with a 5lb claimer on his back.

Heading up the market currently for this handicap hurdle is THE NAVIGATOR at 5/4* (betting odds taken from Betfred at 23:37 GMT on Sunday, 9th August 2020).

Having produced some fantastic form on the flat, he impressed on his last run which was over hurdles.

He flew around to score a course and distance win just a week ago and there is a stack more of potential there under handicap terms.

After that easy win, it wouldn’t be a surprise to see him defy a penalty in this one. The Navigator is going to be tough to knock over.

We would also have to put EYEOFTHESCORPION on the shortlist for this contest. He produced very well to score at Huntingdon a week ago. He made a bit of a mockery of his rating for that one.

Eyeofthescorpion had just too much power for anyone to touch him in the end. He gets a 7lb penalty now, but this is a quick turnaround.

But we liked so much of what we saw, he is our pick at 2/1* (betting odds taken from Betfred at 23:37 GMT on Sunday, 9th August 2020).

The other nomination for this one is PARDON ME who brings a bit of longer value to the table. It’s been over a couple of months since she last ran, scoring at Carmel on that effort.

She just forged clear at the finish suggesting that she is ready for further and stronger contests. It’s going to be interesting to see what progress there is from her.

Race Favourite

This has the making of being the top race of the day and it is D’bai who is the current 5/4 market leader for the contest* (betting odds taken from Betfred at 23:37 GMT on Sunday, 9th August 2020).

He will be making his debut on the polytrack for this one.

It was listed action for him last time out when he took a third place finish at Newbury, not having been placed well enough to make a serious run at the win. But it was further good form overall for him for this season. He is the top rated runner here.

UK Racing Odds & Tips

JASH looks a big threat for the contest. He shook off some average form to deliver a great fourth place in listed company last time out. That was on a 7f trip, behind D’bai on the day.

But it is the trip that could be all important here. The latter is arguably better at the 7f, but Jash has to be narrowly preferred on the 6f trip.

So we would take a chance on him at 9/2* (betting odds taken from Betfred at 23:37 GMT on Sunday, 9th August 2020).

Course and distance winner HARRY’S BAR needs to be respected for the trip. He didn’t have his best run when he was at the back of a field of six at Chelmsford a couple of weeks ago.

But he’s good enough to snap back from that immediately. Harry’s Bar has taken a couple of wins this season at Chelmsford City and Lingfield.
