This is Race 1 of the card for Wednesday at Tampa Bay Downs. This is on the fast dirt and it is an extended 1m claimer. It’s open to 4 year olds and above and there are 8 declared to run.
Race Favourite
Heading up the market is GRAN GREYFROST but the colt was well out of the places at Gulfstream on his last trip. That was an 8F contest at a slightly higher level than this.
That was a return after a 91 day break however after securing a win at Gulfstream. This will be just his second run at Tampa Bay Downs, the previous effort there was a third of five in May 2019.
Tips
The favourite is worth taking on in this contest we feel. THE KAHN is a big contender in this one. The 5 year old gelding has scored in two of his four trips on all weather.
He won an eight furlong trip at the venue in late April as the 11/8F before dropping back to a 7f effort where the pace was just a little quick and he finished third. Plenty of potential is there at 7/2* (betting odds taken from Bet365 at 17:19 GMT on Tuesday, 19th May2020).
The other to watch would be MEILLEUR who, despite some up and down form, does have it in him, and is a distance winner. He has taken a win and a couple of runner up finishes in his last five races.
The other two were blow outs, including his last effort over 7F at Tampa. He should be fine stepping it back up to an extended mile and piques interest at 4/1* (betting odds taken from Bet365 at 17:19 GMT on Tuesday, 19th May 2020).

HIGH FIVE COTTON is the market leader at 11/8* (betting odds taken from Bet365 at 17:19 GMT on Tuesday, 19th May 2020). The gelding will be back in action after a 282 day break.
He is a superbly consistent horse with four wins in his last seven, finishing outside of the top two just one in that sequence. This is the longest he has spent away from the track.
Tips
ONE LUCKY STEP makes a return to Tampa Bay Downs after a couple of efforts at Delaware Park. This is his first run after a 308 day break. The veteran 8 year old will still pull plenty of appeal in the contest from punters. He is at a new yard as well for the first time, going under Mary Bennett now.
7 year old MR KISSES has big experience on all-weather tracks, scoring 5 times from 23 efforts. He should be a little sharper than some of those he is up against in this one having ran twice in April this year.
Mr Kisses was out of the place however as the 2F on his last run, but that was on sloppy track. He has been in the money in each of his last three trips on fast dirt at the venue and is a 3/1 option* (betting odds taken from Bet365 at 17:19 GMT on Tuesday, 19th May2020).

CATCH YA LATER BRO is the 13/8 favourite for the contest* (betting odds taken from Bet365 at 17:19 GMT on Tuesday, 19th May 2020). He is coming back after a 77 day break and this will be his first effort for his new yard. Catch Ya Later Bro has won one of five efforts so far and hasn’t been out of the top four in any of those previous efforts.
Tips
There are plenty of serious contenders in this one. RELISHMENT is strong in the market at 5/2 because he is a reliable steady horse* (betting odds taken from Bet365 at 17:19 GMT on Tuesday, 19th May 2020). It’s been a while since he scored however and this will be a rare excursion over 7f for him.
ROW THE BOAT scored a good maiden on his last effort, a narrow success but a success all the same. So he makes for a very interesting contender in this one, but he was behind MOLOKAI NIGHT in the race before that.
The latter is worth consideration from a 6/1 quote* (betting odds taken from Bet365 at 17:19 GMT on Tuesday, 19th May 2020). He scored on his last effort to break his maiden too. He will get tested a bit here going at the 7f distance. But his maiden score was over 6 1/2f.
Another who should have some big claims in this one is YEI YEI who has been in good form and at 5/1 has big appeal* (betting odds taken from Bet365 at 17:19 GMT on Tuesday, 19th May 2020). He didn’t deliver on his last effort which was on wet ground. Should be a threat here on a much quicker surface.

Race 6 from Tampa Bay Downs is an extended 1m claimer. This is open to 4 year olds and above. This is another big field with 12 declared to run in this one. It is on the turf at the track and the going is fast.
Race Favourite
6 year old LAST PROMISE has his first run for his new yard on Wednesday. He has scored in four of his last seven efforts. In total it has been two wins from four efforts on the turf. He should be a genuinely big threat in this field although this is a bigger field that what he is used to.
Last Promise was last in allowance company and was fourth of eight. Prior to that, he did score on a more expensive claimer than this one is.
Tips
ROUGH NIGHT brings some form to the table having scored on his last effort. That was in early April which was an extended mile trip. That was a big score as well from a 10/1 SP. He just commanded the race from the front in delivering that win. He is going up in class for this effort in contrast to the favourite.
RUDIGER won on his last effort which was at the venue over the distance. So that gives him good claims having scored at 14/1. He is back at the 14/1 quote for this one as well* (betting odds taken from Bet365 at 17:19 GMT on Tuesday, 19th May 2020). That’s four wins from 14 efforts on the turf. This is a step up in quality for him, however.
The other we will take a look at is MY COWBOY. The veteran 8 year old has been bringing some very good form. He has won twice in his last five runs, taking two runners up spots and a fourth in that sequence as well. He was beaten by Last Promise in late March.
