Adamaris leads the market
Adamaris was a beaten favourite last time out. That was in a shorter 1m 1f trip at Wolverhampton earlier this month. He was beaten out by just ahead as the 3/1 favourite in the fixture.
That is back to back second place finishes that he had taken in the current form. The 3-year old, however, has been progressive and looks to have more in the tank.
The slightly longer trip may suit him well enough and he is being tracked as the 7/4 favourite* (betting odds taken from William Hill on February 23rd, 2020 at 23:35).
Dazzling Darren a distance winner
Something that Dazzling Darren has under his belt is a distance win. He claimed a win at Chelmsford in early February at 1m 2f and then followed up eleven days later with a win at Linfield at 1m 4f from 6lb heavier than on his first successes.
So like Adamaris, Dazzling Darren is heading in the right direction and there’s every reason to expect him to be in the frame as the 9/4 second-favourite* (betting odds taken from William Hill on February 23rd, 2020 at 23:35).
Striking Approach is a good fit
Even though from his three starts, Striking Approach has yet to place he looks as if he is improving to the point where the favourable distance is going to come into play. He was last seen towards the end of January at Wolverhampton over a 1m trip at class five.
He has actually been competing in a higher company that he is going to be facing on Monday, mostly. That recent trip on the course does lend appeal to him at 12/1 each-way* (betting odds taken from William Hill on February 23rd, 2020 at 23:35).
Can Cottonpolis take a progressive step?
From five starts, Cottonopolis has placed twice. He was third over a 1m 2f trip at Chelmsford earlier this month in class five. That was on the back of a good run out at Lingfield at the same distance just a couple of weeks prior. He could well have a say in this because he looks as if he does have the extra distance in the tank.
The rest of the runners
Mr Shady tanked to a seventh of nine on his latest trip was at 1m 2f at Lingfield earlier this month. That was after producing a win at a lower class at Lingfield in his previous race.
Beggarman has had a couple of decent trips, a third at Lingfield and then a fifth at the same track this year. He looks steady enough, but as to whether he can find more to challenge some with bigger claims in this race remains to be seen.
This is a big step up in distance for Depardieu who was fourth of five at Chelmsford in mid-January. He wasn’t in the contest at all and just hasn’t had the same kind of work as most of the others on this racecard has had.
Predictions & Tips
Dazzling Darren has the appeal for us in this one. He has recently taken back to back wins and the distance win at Lingfield as the 7/4 favourite recently says a lot about him.
Adamaris is a super progressive horse and should not be far away, nor Cottonopolis if he comes to the track-ready.
