Both of these teams made their Champions League group stage debuts last season. One of them will be getting back for a second bite of the cherry. Young Boys earned their first-ever Champions League proper match win when they collected a 2-1 success over Juventus on matchday six. That was such a big occasion for them. Young Boys have come into the qualification process at this play off stage as the reigning Swiss champions.

Red Star Belgrade finished bottom of their section in the group stage proper last season, but they did also get a notable win during the campaign. That was a home win over Liverpool, who of course went on to be crowned champions. In the qualification playoffs last season, Red Star earned a 2-2 aggregate away goal success over Salzburg. Whereas their opponents Young Boys are coming into the European campaign at this stage, this will be Red Star Belgrade’s seventh European match this season.
