MOSS GILL is the current 5/4 market leader for this Lingfield sprint* (betting odds recorded 21:01 GMT on Friday, 26th February 2021 at William Hill).

He has won after a break before and therefore he could well have a say in this. The last action that he had was 136 days ago.

In that fixture, Moss Gill was a fourth of ten in a Listed run at Nottingham.

He has since switched yards and after excellent form last year has to have strong claims.

UK Racing Odds & Tips

Another coming back from a break is ROCKET ACTION who is a very good sprinter. He was last seen 134 days ago claiming fourth of fourteen in the Mercury Stakes at Dundalk.

There was not a clear run for Rocket Action in that one. If he’s sharp on his return, he can get close.

Filling out the spots in the shortlist is LORD RIDDIFORD. He won at Wolverhampton 14 days ago in a 7-runner handicap.

More will be needed from him on this one, but Lord Riddiford is at least a very good consistent type who has enough to produce a bold run.

FATHER OF JAZZ is the 13/8 current favourite for the Group 3 Winter Derby Stakes* (betting odds recorded 21:01 GMT on Friday, 26th February 2021 at William Hill).

It’s been cracking form from him this season, landing back to back scores, building on a win that he took at the end of the previous campaign.

The most recent of those successes was at course and distance on the all-weather here three weeks ago. Father Of Jazz scored that impressively and now coming up in class looks to be a huge threat.

FELIX should be a player in this one after just getting edge tout in the Winter Derby Trial here at Lingfield last time out.

That was still a very good run through as he took second place and he is a course and distance winner. He opened the season with a win and Felix shouldn’t be very far away at all.

Another that needs some respect in the field is the consistent FOREST OF DEAN. It has been back to back third-place finishes from him recently.

he most recent of those was at the course and distance three weeks ago in that Listed Winter Derby Trial. Forest Of Dean should enter calculations again.

The 2/1 favourite for this Lingfield effort is CARDANO* (betting odds recorded 21:01 GMT on Friday, 26th February 2021 at William Hill).

He is a hattrick-seekers as he takes on this contest on Sunday and has been six wins from 20 previous flat runs.

Seven days ago he was seen collecting a win at course and distance and just had the run of the race in this one. Cardano immediately goes back on the shortlist.

The biggest threat to Cardano is his stablemate LUCKY’S DREAM. He picked up a win on his reappearance run 39 days ago on a 1m 2f trip on the flat here at Lingfield.

That was from an 11/1 SP as well and easily a career-best from him. Can he back it up? Lucky’s Dream scored three wins in eight runs last year.

NIGHT BEAR was really progressive last season and delivered a good course and distance effort in December.

On his reappearance run a month ago, he was a fifth of seven at Wolverhampton. But that should have served to sharpen him up and a run to Lingfield should help.

SALTY BOY is the current 9/2 favourite for this Handicap Chase at Newcastle. This is a big one at 4m 1f as well.

He is coming into a stiffer test than he found himself embroiled in at Plumpton’s Sussex National last time out.

But he still looks as if this long, gruelling test is going to suit him. There has been steady progress from Salty Boy this season for his new yard.

He is definitely one to consider for the shortlist in this chase.

CROSSLEY TENDER may not be far away in this one and is our 7/1 racing tip* (betting odds recorded 21:01 GMT on Friday, 26th February 2021 at William Hill).

We can’t overlook the very strong season that he has had, winning four times in this campaign. The most recent of those was on his penultimate run, a 3m effort at Exeter. From 8lb higher he then took third at Ascot.

Crossley Tender looks a perfect fit given his mood and that he has been shaping like he needs a big long trip.

2019 winner of the Verten Eider Handicap Chase CROSSPARK can’t be dismissed either. There has been some excellent form delivered by him this season.

It’s been four straight runners up finishes from him, the latest of those happening at Sandown on a 3m trip last month. Crosspark is shortlisted material.

That was followed up by a great second place at Sandown and Clan Legend appears to be on top of his game at the moment so poses a big threat.

ASCOT DE BRUYERE is a really interesting player in this field. He was last year’s winner of this fixture.

Ascot De Bruyere was at course and distance on his latest run which was in November last year. He strolled to a comfortable win in that one, which was his first effort since a wind op.

Ascot De Bruyere needs respect here coming up 7lb in the ratings.

SEEMORE LIGHTS will be the other name for the shorts. He was third at Ayr on his latest run and that form has been franked since then.

So he could have plenty to offer in this race for backers at his current mark. It’s been a good switch to the fences and more could be to come.
