Race Favourite

GHALY is the 5/2 race favourite for this Thirsk handicap* (betting odds taken from Bet365 at 23:30 GMT on Thursday, 3rd September 2020).

He picked up a win on his last run, scoring in a Newmarket handicap in August.

That was after coming back down the 1m trip, which seemed to suit him far better. So he has to bring some leading claims in his one.

Ghaly will be dealing with a 4lb rise but on the basis of that last run, he could easily handle that. He will benefit from a good draw as well.

UK Racing Odds & Tips

SHELIR also has to be sized up in this fixture as well. He has had plenty of experience against tough handicappers behind him.

He hasn’t scored yet for his new yard and on his last run didn’t have much left in a York Handicap. But overall, his form looks solid and in this sphere should have place claims.

There has been enough improvement from NORTHERNPOWERHOUSE to warrant a look at him as well. He is taking on 2lb extra after scoring a win on his last race.

That was a Haydock success over the 7f distance a month ago. Nothernpowerhouse had to dig deep to hang on for that win, but it was his second in three trips since reappearance.

ZEEBAND is the 2/1 favourite for the Hambleton Cup at Thirsk on Friday* (betting odds taken from Bet365 at 23:30 GMT on Thursday, 3rd September 2020).

He has been steadily progressing and capped that progression with a win last time out.

That was just under three weeks ago as he beat AKAMANTO by half a length at Ripon over this distance.

That was the handicap debut for Zeeband and there should be more to come from him. Zeeband gets a 5lb rise for his victory, but that is easily within his scope.

UK Racing Odds & Tips

ISPAHAN looks to be shaping very well as well. In Doncaster in July, he ran very well to claim a third place finish in what was a minor event over 12f.

He had plenty of running left in him which suggests the extra trip will suit him well.

ISPAHAN is coming into handicap action for the first time and the handicapper has been really kind to him, so he should have a big chance at a money spot.

The form of SQUELCH has been there as well to warrant having a look at here. She scored on her first three runs of the season.

Last time out she put in another good effort, missing out on the four-timer but taking third at Salisbury and wasn’t disgraced.

That was three weeks ago and has to be sharp enough to bring some place claims.

16:55 Haydock Handicap UK Racing Odds & Tips

Finoah 3/1
Danielsflyer 13/2
Endowed 13/2
Lincoln Park 13/2
Tranchee 15/2
Ejtilaab 7/1
Young Fire 8/1
Hajjam 8/1
Molls Memory 9/1
Muntadab 14/1
Gravity Force 40/1

Race Favourite

FINOAH is the 3/1 race favourite for this trip at Haydock on Friday* (betting odds taken from Bet365 at 23:30 GMT on Thursday, 3rd September 2020). He has put in a couple of steady runs on his reappearance.

Finoah is a former course and distance winner, twice in some muddy conditions at that.

He has come down in the weights a bit because it has been a while since he even rattled the crossbar. But he’s off a workable mark and should be on the shortlist.

UK Racing Odds & Tips

ENDOWED is likely to be a threat here, benefitting from a wind operation to come back and score a second-place finish in Newmarket 6f trip.

There was enough in him to suggest that the extra furlong is going to get more out of him. That was a career-best effort and it signalled a superb return to form.

We are a little torn between DANIELSFLYER and EJTILAAB for our other pick in this race. It is the former who is going to get the nod for us.

Danielsflyer almost bust himself out of his winless streak when he came home second at Beverly three weeks ago. He launched his attack a little early, but looks as if he can make his presence felt on Friday.

18:00 Sedgefield Handicap Hurdle UK Racing Odds & Tips

Who has the staying power for this one? Well, the bookies think CHOCOLAT NOIR, who is the 11/8 outright favourite* (betting odds taken from Bet365 at 23:30 GMT on Thursday, 3rd September 2020).

She is now on the brink of a hattrick as she comes back to action in this small field. She has just powered her way through this season.

Her last win was at Perth just over three weeks ago and is very likely to be in the frame for this competitive race.

UK Racing Odds & Tips

ROCKY ON FRUITY is not to be dismissed as he won over the fences at Sedgefield in March.

That was his last effort, so he is facing a big challenge coming in fresh against others who are match-sharp.

But that was such a good win at the venue that he will be a threat if he touches upon that form.

HANDY HOLLOW is the other consideration for this 5-runner handicap hurdle.

He produced a very good second place finish at Cartmel just under two weeks ago, a fine return to form from him there.

That was in a handicap hurdle and he has a 3lb claimer for this one.

19:20 Kempton Handicap Stakes UK Racing Odds & Tips

Race Favourite

Heading up the market for this one at Kempton is DANCE TO PARIS at 11/4* (betting odds taken from Bet365 at 23:30 GMT on Thursday, 3rd September 2020). She has been in the frame in her last two runs, both runners-up finishes.

She will get the visor on for the first time now and that should raise her claims back on the all-weather. There should be a big chance for her to get that score, which looks to be not too far away.

UK Racing Odds & Tips

Oisin Murphy hops into the saddle of MONSIEUR LAMBRAYS who will be looking to bounce back after a poor effort at York last time out.

The trip never actually looked to be in him for that contest, but he has scored twice in four runs.

Monsieur Lambrays is open to more over this further trip and a top jockey booked piques interest.

We will also take a look at MOURIYANI too as he comes back into action 1lb lower than his last mark. It actually hasn’t been a bad year from him at all, winning three of seven efforts.

There was a decent enough effort from him at Newmarket, taking a third of six under handicap terms a month ago. Mouriyani is a course and distance winner.

19:00 Sedgefield Handicap Chase UK Racing Odds & Tips

Race Favourite

The race favourite for our last race of this preview is ALEXANDER THE GREY at 5/2* (betting odds taken from Bet365 at 23:30 GMT on Thursday, 3rd September 2020).

It’s hard to know what he would have done last time out, as he ditched his ride a couple from home.

That was at Sedgefield so there will be a little question mark over his jumping and that’s twice in his last six his rider has come off.

Before that slip at Sedgefield last time out, he was in the mix for the places and has to be respected, if his jumping can be trusted.

UK Racing Odds & Tips

There were excuses for OXWICH BAY when he took fifth at Uttoxeter on his last trip.

It wasn’t the worst of runs, but in a quick turnaround after having won at Newton Abbot shortly before that, it was too much on his plate to get the win.

There are claims from him as he’s been off the track now for 50 days.

HENRY’S JOY is worth a look here. On his return to action, he picked up an excellent second-place finish at Cartmel in a handicap hurdle.

He may appreciate the lesser trip here because he struggled at just over three miles on his last effort at Stratford. He was third there, but a long way back.
