This is Saturday’s UK racing odds, tips & preview feature and in it, we will be pulling together our picks of the day from around the country.

The day’s racing action comes from Doncaster, Newbury and Newmarket

There are some great fixtures around for the day like some Class 2 and Listed action on the flat, along with a top Group 3 fixture of the Geoffrey Freer Stakes.

Ther race favourite for the Denford Stakes is GURU at 2/1* (betting odds taken from William Hill at 20:12 GMT on Friday, 14th August 2020) who makes his second racetrack appearance here.

Guru scored on his debut which was, handily, over course and distance in July. He edged that success by a nose, and the John Gosden-trained colt warrants some respect in this contest.

DHAHABI was well backed on his debut which was at Newmarket at the 7f trip. He didn’t quite get the finish correct as he started drifting left, but he still managed to put the win on the board. A sharper run should see him back in the frame for this one.

JUMBY had a good run at Ascot on his debut and he was well supported for that trip as well. He got the job done over the 7f trip, to hold off 9 rivals with a good turn of speed at the finish. Jumby is coming up in class but there is a stack of potential there.

MORANDO is the current 5/2 favourite for the Geoffrey Freer Stakes* (betting odds taken from William Hill at 20:12 GMT on Friday, 14th August 2020).

His recent return to action in June saw him taken seventh place, but he looked as if he really needed that trip to get some air into his lungs.

He was runner up twelve months ago in this contest before following up in his following race by beating Sextant at Ascot. Morando would prefer the ground towards the softer side to bolster his chance.

UK Racing Odds & Tips

HUKUM has to be feared in this one following success at Royal Ascot. He secured the King George V Handicap at the festival and coming up in grade he looks to be a threat.

That success at Ascot followed him having gotten off the mark in a Kempton novice. It will be fascinating to see what more he has in him.

ALIGNAK is also in good form at the moment after taking second place (by a short head) at Haydock in a Listed race. He is taking on an extra furlong in this race, but that shouldn’t be anything to bother him too much.

There is still plenty of improvement to come and he’s been right on top of his game this season. Alignak is on the shortlist.

There is VENTURA DIAMOND at the head of the market for this nursery contest at Newmarket from 7/4* (betting odds taken from William Hill at 20:12 GMT on Friday, 14th August 2020). She scored on her last run, which was in a Goodwood maiden a couple of weeks ago. Looks to have plenty in her still.

GREAT VIBES looked happier in stepping up to 7f for her last effort when she took third place in a Goodwood Fillies’ maiden in July. That was just her second racetrack appearance so there is likely more to come from her and she did have Teadolina behind her in that contest.

It is TEODOLINA that we will also turn to for a pick in this race. She has shown great ability so far on her two appearances and rapidly shaking off inexperience. Teodolina was fourth last time out in that Goodwood Fillies maiden with Great Vibes ahead of her. She looks likely enough to get herself in the mix.

Race Favourite

The 7/4 market leader for this contest is TINKER TOY* (betting odds taken from William Hill at 20:12 GMT on Friday, 14th August 2020). He is exposed as he comes into just his third racetrack appearance on Saturday.

But he has scored on his two trips so far, scoring 7f novice wins at Salisbury and Doncaster.

He defied a penalty on that latest win over course and distance in June and looks good for a handicapping debut at a mark of 90. Tinker Toy has looked very good so far, can he make it a hattrick?

MAGICAL WISH has a chance of being in the frame in this 12-runner field. He came storming back into form on his last appearance, which was at Glorious Goodwood in July.

That was from a field of 17 as well, and it was his best run since his winning return at Lingfield in March. Is there more to come from him?

The other that we will take into consideration is GHALYOON on his return to action. This will be his first effort since wind surgery and he has been away for 13 months now.

But he showed fantastic potential last year, notably when second to Nazeef in a Newmarket novice.

BREANSKI has won the last two editions of this race. He has been knocking on the door of success recently as well, having been in the frame in each of his last three runs.

The course and distance history will suit a lot of punters and he looks to be back in form at the moment, peaking perhaps at the right time for a hat trick of successes?

Hold onto your hats for one of the biggest fields of Saturday. The favourite for this one currently is JONAH JONES at 9/2* (betting odds taken from William Hill at 20:12 GMT on Friday, 14th August 2020).

His last run was a total scratch at York, but before that he was going well in some big-fields, scoring a couple of third place finishes. So he seems to be going well for his new yard and if nothing else, Jonah Jones has place claims.

Only coming up 2lb for a score at Yarmouth on her last run is TEXTING who is an interesting competitor here at 13/2* (betting odds taken from William Hill at 20:12 GMT on Friday, 14th August 2020).

Last season she was coming on really well in handicapping. Her last run at Yarmouth was a world away from her poor reappearance. She is worth keeping on side.

Another that is looking in very good shape at the moment is THEGREATESTSHOWMAN. He scored third place at Yarmouth just under three weeks ago, but traffic was a problem for him in that effort.

It’s reasonable to assume he could have finished higher. He has been in solid nick on the turf and has to be a contender.

It’s a big field so we will size up one more runner. That will be LINE OF REASON. He has scored since his return to action, which was 5f success at Newmarket in June.

He went well on Wednesday at Beverley as well and he should have place claims with that kind of form.

BELIEVE IN LOVE is the 5/2 favourite for this newmarket trip* (betting odds taken from William Hill at 20:12 GMT on Friday, 14th August 2020). She is in with a chance of a hattrick as she steps into action on Saturday.

Last time out she was back after five months and taking on a 4lb rise and an extra trip with a Goodwood run and scored that easily enough.

Believe In Love is in wonderful shape currently and is just on the up and up. She is on the shortlist.

EXPRESSIONISM claimed a second place on her return. That was at Newmarket a couple of weeks ago in a Listed race.

She steps into her handicap debut here, but based on the last run that she had, she has claims in this one for trainer Charlie Appleby. The extra bit on the trip is likely to play into her hands as well.

TABLE MOUNTAIN takes on a 9lb rise in this fixture. That is because she scored a great win at Ascot three weeks ago. Even though she is taking on more here, she still looks as if she is going to be competitive.

Table Mountain has really taken things on since going for more distance. She may well be a player.
