After an enforced break of three months, he then returns in red-hot fashion.

He should still have plenty more to tap into and can be right in the thick of the action.

Royal Scotsman firmly in the hunt

He landed the Richmond Stakes at Goodwood, one of two wins that he has banked from four runs.

Royal Scotsman took that Richmond Stakes with ease three weeks ago.

It was a fantastic straightforward victory.

Royal Scotsman will be under a penalty on Friday, but he looks like being a big player.

Clearpoint has some claims

Connections look to have a good move with CLEARPOINT testing him at this level.

He looks worthy of a place here after winning two of two runs so far.

Chateau then went to Glorious Goodwood to tackle the Richmond Stakes.

NEVER JUST A DREAM got off the mark at the second time of asking. Under a positive ride, he scored at Wolverhampton but this still may be beyond him.

CATCH THE PADDY landed a course and distance win last month in a nursery. He has been progressive but this is a huge jump up in grade.

COLD CASE isn’t without some claims to make a run at the places. He has looked highly promising at times and won a maiden at course and distance earlier this summer.

NEVER JUST A DREAM blew his lines after being well-supported at Ascot on his debut. But he did open his accounts to Wolverhampton 11 days ago having been helped by a positive ride. He’s no forlorn hope for the places.

WAITING ALL NIGHT scored on his debut but hasn’t added to that in four subsequent attempts. He’s fallen short at this level and is unlikely to trouble the big players on Friday.

CHUZZLEWIT was an expensive purchase and was well-backed on his debut. He didn’t read his lines however and is going to find the big step up in class challenging.
