Royal Ascot Betting Tips & Preview – Day 1 – 14th June 2022

We have arrived at the Royal Ascot betting tips 2022 as the opening day of the Festival swings into action on Tuesday.

It’s a massive day as well, with three Group 1 fixtures among the seven races that are lined up.

The proceedings start with the Group 1 Queen Anne Stakes. The other top-tier fixtures for Tuesday are the St James’s Palace Stakes and the King’s Stand Stakes.

We will of course be looking at Royal Ascot betting tips for each of those, but also for each of the other races from the venue on Tuesday.

About Royal Ascot Betting Tips – Day 1

This hotly anticipated day of action from the biggest flat racing Festival in British racing, promises some fantastic races.

There are some big players around on the day, like Baaeed going as a strong favourite in the Queen Anne Stakes, and Coroebus lined up for the St James’s Palace Stakes.

Queen Anne Stakes – Royal Ascot Betting Tips

Race Details: Group 1, 4YO plus, 7 declared, 1m (str)

Preview: The Queen Anne Stakes betting market has just been dominated by BAAEED.

He is the current 2/11 odds-on favourite* (odds recorded at 18:54 GMT on June 14th, 2022 at Paddy Power).

Punters are not going to get much change out of that, but it’s a sign of how highly regarded he is.

Baaeed could honestly be the next Frankel. He comes in defending his unbeaten record of seven wins from seven.

Is that likely going to come to an end on Tuesday?

That doesn’t look too likely as on paper he is head and shoulders above the rest of this Queen Anne field.

If he runs true to form, then Baaeed is probably going to take this. He’s won before at Ascot, taking the Queen Elizabeth II here in 2021.

Baaeed opened the season with an impressively wide-margin score in the Lockinge Stakes at Newbury.

REAL WORLD looks like the closest contender for the field.

He wasn’t anywhere near getting the better of Baaeed at Newbury in the Lockinge, following him home.

He could be the one to repeat as the runner-up behind Baaeed. Claims are tough to find in the rest of the race.

CHIDNIT was third behind the other two at the Lockinge so could have placed claims, while LIGHTS ON brings a win from a Group 2 at Sandown to the table.

Coventry Stakes – Royal Ascot Betting Tips

Race Details: Group 2, 2YO only, 17 declared, 6f

Preview: There are some interesting players in this one.

BLACKBEARD warrants respect as he puts an unbeaten record on the line.

It has been three wins from three for Aiden O’Brien’s charge. He stormed clear to score at Group 3 at the Curragh on his latest. He should thrive at Ascot.

PERSIAN FORCE warrants respect after winning his first two racetrack appearances.

The first of those was when he delivered the odds at Doncaster and then in novice at Newbury.

There is clear potential there for him and he wasn’t a cheap purchase at all. Connections will expect big things.

REMARKABLE FORCE is another that has won his first two starts.

Those were landed at Salisbury and then in a class 2 at Musselburgh.

The form of Remarkable Force reads well and he looks to have a good turn of speed, so warrants respect in Royal Ascot betting tips.

One final one for the shortlist in this bid is BRADSELL who won on his debut at York last month.

He banked a strong time there as well and smashed the field by 9 lengths, so he is an intriguing entry.

King’s Stand Stakes – Royal Ascot Betting Tips

Race Details: Group 1, 3YO plus, 18 declared, 5f

Preview: The second of the day’s Group 1 fixture at Royal Ascot is the King’s Stand Stakes.

This looks like a superb renewal.

At the head of the market, there is an expected head-to-head duel lining up between NATURE STRIP and GOLDEN PAL.

Australian raider Nature Strip looks an excellent fit for the contest at Royal Ascot.

He dominated the T.J Smith Stakes at Randwick on his latest.

The form puts him right in the reckongin in Royal Ascot betting tips.

Golden Pal misfired at the Nunthorpe at York, last year, but that’s his only blip in his last seven.

He has won all three efforts since York and the US challenger has some serious claims.

MOONEISTA piques some interest with some solid form behind and she looks superbly comfortable when travelling.

She will need a little more for win purposes, but she’s not out of the picture.

KING’S LYNN has some nice wins from behind him, including a score at Haydock three weeks ago.

Further progress is fully expected so can potentially make his presence felt.

TIS MARVELLOUS is a big outsider but has some appeal as each way contender.

He was in cracking form last season and has banked four previous courses and distance wins.

Tis Marvellous wasn’t great on his reappearance but should be that much better for having gotten the run under his belt.

TWILIGHT CALLS also warrants respect as one of the bigger home challengers.

With a hot pace expected, he could be pulled into proceedings. MAN OF PROMISE is also interesting on his first 5f spin.

St James’s Palace Stakes – Royal Ascot Betting Tips

Race Details: Group 1, 3YO only, 13 declared, 1m

Preview: This is the third and final Group 1 contest for Royal Ascot betting tips on Tuesday.

COROEBUS is one of the Festival favourites and is the clear one to beat in the St James’s Palace Stakes.

He is trading at odds-on to pick up the score and there is nothing that comes close to his form.

Corobeus put in a stunning run at the 2000 Guineas at Newmarket in April on a reappearance run.

That’s been three wins in four runs from him, and the one defeat in the sequence was an unlucky one by a neck on his second race track appearance at the Juddmonte last autumn.

MALJOOM is an exciting prospect as well having landed a victory in all three of his runs.

The most recent was an eye-catching one as well, as he took the German 2000 Guineas three weeks ago. He is likely to be a big player.

Another with some big claims is Maljoom’s stablemate MY PROSPERO. Trainer Willie Mullins has big players in this one.

My Prospero has rapidly been on the up this season, winning his two appearances.

He isn’t done improving yet after a Listed score at Sandown last time out.

MIGHTY ULYSSES is interesting as he comes from a handicap straight up to Group 1 on Tuesday.

Franke Dettori is booked and from a runner up the Silver Bowl has been boosted.

Ascot Stakes Handicap – Royal Ascot Tips

Race Details: Class 2 heritage handicap, 4YO plus, 20 declared 2m 4f

Preview: We slide down to handicapping for the next of the Royal Ascot tips for Tuesday.

COLTRANE is back on track at the moment and warrants respect in this contest.

He has taken back-to-back runner-up finishes.

He went well for a long way in the Chester Cup, finding one Cleveland too good for him on the day in that one.

Coltrane looks as if he may need even further, but he’s not to be written off.

PIED PIPER could well be a big player in the contest after scoring on his final run of last season in this sphere.

He makes the switch from a spin over the hurdles 68 days ago.

Pied Piper returns to the flat on a mark of 96 which probably gives him a reasonable chance.

There’s a slight question over the distance, as it could be a little long.

RESHOUN was last year’s winner of this Royal Ascot fixture and he could be back in the frame.

A good reappearance at Haydock last month gives full encouragement that he can pose a threat.

ARCADIAN SUNRISE was good in the Chester Cup, taking a fourth-place finish after coming from off the pace.

He had some big scores last year and travels well. The chance for Arcadian Sunrise is boosted by a 5lb claimer.

Wolferton Stakes – Royal Ascot Tips

Race Details: Listed, 4YO plus, 16 declared, 1m 2f

Preview: FOXES TALES looks like a potentially big player in the renewal of the Wolferton Stakes on Tuesday.

He was a course and distance scorer in a handicap at last year’s Royal Ascot so knows what is needed on this track.

There was a Group 3 score for him back in August as well.

An encouraging reappearance behind Monstahdaf at Sandown gives him big claims.

TASMAN BAY is interesting as he returns from a long break.

He took his form forward as a 3-year-old and will now be stronger.

Tasman Bay was a runner-up in last year’s King Edward at the Royal meeting.

JUAN ELCANO was third behind second-placed finisher Foxes Tale at Sandown on his reappearance run.

Connections won’t be disappointed by that as he will be geared up fully for this one.

Juan Elcano claimed last year’s Wolferton on his second run of the season.

Another of the big players in this field is HARROVIAN who can’t be ignored because of some form in Saudi Arabia on his penultimate run.

He should find this easier than his effort in the Dubai Turf 80 days ago.

Others that could feature include CADILLAC who produced some excellent form to win at Leopardstown 12 days ago, and MAJESTIC DAWN who scored at Goodwood three weeks ago by a wide margin.

Copper Horse Stakes – Royal Ascot Tips

Race Details: Class 2, 4YO plus, 17 declared, 1m 6f

Preview: CLEVELAND is expected to launch a bold bid for Copper Horse success on Tuesday.

He brings winning form to the table as he got himself on top in the Chester Cup late on.

Cleveland comes up 5lb which doesn’t look insurmountable.

STOWELL has been competing at higher levels than this so far this season. He’s been seen at Listed and Group 3.

So his sights are lowered here on what will be his handicap debut.

Claims are boosted by coming from last year’s winning yard.

JUAN DE MONTALBAN is another of the big players after running into nice form with a score here at Ascot 38 days ago.

That’s two excellent runs since running to action and although his challenge is made tougher by a 9lb rise, Juan De Montalban is expected to be in it.

ALRIGHT SUNSHINE has taken back-to-back third-place finishes.

He will handle the trip and the ground so piques interest, although he’s not been the easiest to catch right.

OKITA SOUSHI was an encouraging second at the Curragh last time out and piques interest in his handicap debut as he is going in the right direction.
